Ok, that makes sense. Are 3 plumes a guarantee? I've never paid attention to how many I got.
-
I was talking about per single kill. The spoon tops out at like 10.50 from one kill.

Herons pay the most I believe, totaling out around 12 bucks. The map below should help you find them.

Building stuff for furniture solutions is getting to be a lost art. Nice to hear someone who still does. I prefer to build when I can, it's always a better fit. When I built my book shelves it cost me about 150.00 bucks. If I had purchased them at ikea it would have been 900.00 and they wouldn't have fit nearly as well.

Blame it on the rum. Cripps is a lush. Seriously though, with a map of this size, traveling across the map could be treated as leaving the session.

Yea, that part I'm just going to chalk up to beta and hope they add properties soon.lol

I hunt deer mainly. I head shot the 3* (or 2*) of the group if there is one and then hop on my horse to take out the rest for meat. Always take the carcass of the 3*. Hunt and kill any animal you see while you're scouting deer, make sure to hang 2 carcasses on the horse as well, turkeys are best. The goal here is speed and quantity, don't focus on the pelt quality unless you see a 3*. After 20 minutes or so I usually wind up with about 15 pelts, a 3* buck carcass, 2 turkey carcasses and a bunch of feathers, small game ,antlers and a TON of meat. This way gets me about 40-60 per trip. This works best near tumbleweed for me. There are lots of pronghorn/deer, lot's of birds in the sky too.

Well, I'm kinda hoping that while defending the camp he takes an arrow to the knee and can no longer be an explorer and move the camp.
-
I try to go to an area that is usually dead before I log off, at least then I have a shot and not getting shot. The slow down at camps is painful and pointless. I'd rather have someone fly by my base so I don't have to stare and wait to see if they are hostile. What would make sense is to have the slow down, accompanied by zero'd stamina for the player and their horse if they enter your camp. But, like Bropollo said, properties are confirmed to be coming and we probably won't have these worries after they do. All I want is a pre fabricated house, a chicken coop and place to warm my boots....and maybe a few more people in my camp.

In my camp he's more like a tree stump with a beard.

So, aside from not having lumbago, Cripps is pretty much as useful as Uncle. What do you think R* should do to make him less......useless? He's an old grizzled cowboy, I'd like to see him act that way. A few tweaks that I think would help: Camp defense - He fires warning shots when people stop outside your camp, maybe even yells at them. It'd be nice to hear a voice. He shoots at anyone (NON POSSE/NON FRIEND) that comes into your camp with weapons or lasso drawn. He also shoots any (NON POSSE/NON FRIEND) who approaches your horse. Stew pot - Have it so we can donate food to the cause and he makes a stew that we can eat, ALL DAY. Horse care - Having him brush and feed your horse when it's in camp makes sense. Up-gradable - Make it so we can buy him better guns and make it so we have to buy him ammo. Animal scout - Allow him to put a marker on the map for the specific animal we are looking to hunt I think these would make the Cripps and the camp more useful to us. AND, R*, this is stuff we'd need money and gold for......so...yea.

Really Need Be Able To Keep Pelts/Hides Stowed On Horse

Smart. I do the same, it's worth spending a couple bucks to make sure you don't lose your pelts from a..........couple bucks. 😎 -

Been there, sucks beyond suck. Besides using the app to avoid trolls I try to keep my hunting trips to 15/20 minutes. That way if I do get popped I don't lose alot. Try and stick to the areas around Rhodes as there is a lot less activity around there. Question, did you actually lose feathers from your inventory or was that for humorous emphasis? -
Ok, you got me curious so I tried the bolt with and without the scope on it for non sighted in shots. From what I can tell the accuracy is the pretty much the same, although it seemed like the accuracy was a little better without the scope on it. Once again, this is for shots with the scope equipped, but not turned on.

Avoiding people in real life? Isn't that what an Xbox with RDRO installed is for? 😎 -
I'm thinking the campsites work like the yachts did in in GTAO. My yacht was always in a new spot. If you log into a server it will try and put you into the same spot as when you played last, including where your camp was. This changes though if someone is already in the server in that camp location. There are limited fixed spaces, so it moves you to another, random location, which is super annoying. Campsites, unlike properties, are different because they can be accessed by anyone, so we can't inhabit the same location. Properties can have multiple people using them at the same time. I'm hoping once they add properties that this will stop being an issue for us.

die without being able to defend yourself
madfretter replied to peppino79's topic in Red Dead Online
Agreed. It's bad enough that we spawn 100 yards away from where we died, but to put our blip up right away is a bit much. The upcoming updates are supposed to have some blip modifications. Let's hope it's what we want. -
Judging by that video, the kickback would probably make me accidentally shoot my horse. lol
-
That is crazy looking. Thanks for the link. If anyone needs me I'll be standing on a mountain with my fishing rod out.
-
Whichever way they decide to use the blips they need to factor in people who pay gold to correct their honor. There needs to be some sort of distinction so we know they're still a potential threat. Can't have someone grief for weeks and then they pay 3 gold to show up as harmless on my radar.
-
17 minutes? That sounds like married with at least 1 kid..lol

Gold purchases are part of the business model for RDRO, so I imagine it does weigh in pretty heavily on decisions based on how much gold we can earn. For me, I do grind a lot, but sometimes that isn't enough for what I want to buy in the game. So I weigh the time grinding vs the time it took me to earn the real money I would need to spend. For example, I really wanted the camp fast travel for my posse but there was no way I was going to grind out 125 gold bars and still work. Since I had a good start with the gold R* gave me, I bought enough to get the fast travel. I'm not going to make a habit out of buying gold bars, but if there is something that I really want that I don't think I can grind out in a reasonable amount of time, I'll make the purchase.

From what I've seen it still only rains in the snow biomes (letting my Minecraft show), I sort of like it though, it makes it seem colder and more miserable when you're out walking around in it. It's probably just a memory saving choice for the time being.

I really like the idea of butchers being based off of the honor system. High honor could get you more butchers with better locations, where low honor would get you butchers that say, maybe won't buy all the items you sell and are further away from towns.
