There's a couple of known glitches in the hunting poster requests. http://www.powerpyx.com/red-dead-redemption-2-all-hunting-request-locations/ Glitch Warning (Quest not progressing): When completing a Hunting Request (when sending a mail to Ms. Hobbs), make sure you do not have any other perfect carcasses for the next hunting request in your inventory! Otherwise, the game might glitch out and never give you the follow-up quest, thus making it impossible to complete the hunting requests and thus the 100% completion! There’s yet another glitch; when you’ve already gotten a bigger carcass (rabbit, opossum, skunk, beaver) and you saved the game after, but reloaded the save, then the carcass can simply disappear and is no longer checked off in your quest log. It is therefore best to keep these animals for last or to do the entire request in one sitting with no reloads. Glitch Warning #2 (Posters not available): Some players have reported not being able to find the posters anywhere. This could be because you have the stranger mission “The Ties that Bind Us” active. So if you can’t find the posters, it’s most likely because you accepted this mission, and completing it should fix the issue. I don't know whether these bugs have been corrected in a later game patch.

Fishing made Far Cry 5 awesome. Never forget that!

Strange, I can't seem to aim my gun at the Gunsmith in Rhodes
Foxtrot replied to Slayer Fan's topic in Red Dead Redemption 2
When I started out, I did end up shooting a lot of people I really wanted to rob. Heck, I shot a lot of people I just wanted to say "Hello" to as well. -

You seem to be confusing R2/RB (right bumper) with R1/RT (right trigger). Right bumper will go into cover mode. I normally quickly press the trigger while pointing away from the victim and then bring the gun up to aim at the cashier. I take care not to press the trigger all the way down when doing so, just a quick tap is all that's needed. This is how I remember doing it. -
Yeah, that guide was invaluable for the exotics requests. I saved my Herbalist 9 challenge so that I did the exotics at the same time. I really didn't want to go looking for orchids twice. Some of the better youtube videos really zoom into the map to show you exactly where the plants are.
-
No, there's difficulty settings in other games, not this one.
-
Yes, there are. I completed my herbalist 9 a few days ago. To find the missing ones, I just used youtube. So looking for "RDR blackcurrant location" will give you a video detailing exactly where to find a plant.

I’m the same, I usually set the difficulty levels in games down to a low setting as I’d rather enjoy the game rather than get frustrated at getting killed so often. In this game, it makes sense to take your time, there’s no need to rush these battles. Anther tip is to hold the ‘down’ on your d-pad this will expand your mini map and you’ll see where your enemies are at a larger distance. And dont bother going back to gang hideouts when you’ve already clear them...
-
Yeah, John's part of the journal shows just how much of a man Arthur was. Man I miss him.
-
All of the gang hideouts get refilled after you’ve captured them. I’ve had to clear out Shady Belle about four times. Its easier just to avoid them, there’s rarely a need to clear them again unless you want a fight on your hands.
-
Usually, you can get into cover behind something and let the bad guys come to you, one at a time. When they stop coming, it’s usually safe to move up to another covering position and repeat until all the bad guys are gone. Just don’t forget to top up on health items/food when required.
-
The one near the last N of New Austin on the map? It's a known find and is one of the random stranger encounters - seemingly unrelated to anything else.
-
That was your assumption, it may have been the OPs assumption as well. Hopefully what I've posted above will have cleared that up.
-
No, I'm not. 100% game completion doesn't require any of those items. If you take a look in the "Progress" part of the pause menu and go to "Total Completion", you won't see any companion requests needed. 100% trophy completion does. Check out the 100% game completion checklist on Powerpyx here- http://www.powerpyx.com/red-dead-redemption-2-100-guide-checklist/ and 100% trophy completion here - http://www.powerpyx.com/red-dead-redemption-2-trophy-guide-roadmap/ Be aware that a "companion activity" (robbery, hunting, etc) is a different task to a "companion request" (get Dutch a pipe, etc.)
-
In combat against a group of people, get used to taking cover behind walls/crates/etc. Do this with the RB/R1 button. You can then aim with the left trigger, snap off a shot and then get back into cover again. You really don't need to be standing out in the open (it works for Rambo, but not many other people).
-
Yeah, 100% trophy completion isn't the same as 100% game completion. There's a few trophies that don't factor into the story line at all - fighting off 18 grizzlies being one, and "Errand Boy" (getting Dutch a pipe, getting the naval compass for Pearson, etc. - the subject of this thread) being another.
-
Well, I'm sorry about that, but the official strategy guide has the full list of companion requests and they stop at chapter 4. There's no opportunity to continue these in chapter 5 and beyond. If possible that you what you think as being camp companion requests isn't the same as what the OP is referring to here and what everyone else is talking about in this thread.
-
The camp requests are time limited - these cut out after chapter 4. You can't, therefore, complete the camp companion requests in or after the epilogues in the same way that you can complete other tasks.

The problem is here that Rockstar don't have an infinite amount of code-monkeys and an infinite amount of time to allow them to create a game that allows the player to do everything that you want from it. They also don't have an infinite amount of money to throw at the said room full of infinite code-monkeys. The basic economics of software development means that software companies have to spend less making a game than they expect to make in profits. Adding huge amounts of complications into the game won't sell many more games, but will significantly increase the money needed to make those changes. Although notionally, these changes might seem small, in terms of software development and the RAGE engine, they are nowhere near trivial. As it happens, RDR2 was scheduled to be released in 2017, it ended up being delayed by a year. We know that some of the plot was re-written, and we can assume that some of the game mechanics were extended/re-written/added. The quality of the game that they eventually released is evident in the unanimous high scores and good reviews it's received. This tells us (and Rockstar) that the balance between playability and complexity was about right. I am quite frankly amazed that Rockstar put so much effort into the single-player aspect of this game considering how much revenue is generated by the online aspects these days. Most campaign stories of the Call of Duty games involve 20 or so hours (often less). The recent Tomb Raider games are more open, but still have little to offer the single player. You can't put animals on a cart because most people won't bother. you only need to take animals to camp in order to fulfill one of the challenges - every other time, you can give Pearson butchered meat. And there's no real need to do that either after a certain point. Sometimes you shoot stuff and you can't get to the kill. Well, that's real enough. Horses aren't mountaineers. Well, that's real enough. You can't buy land and build a house outside of the script. I can't see many players getting excited about doing this when they can feed night-folk to the gators instead. John can't swim. That's pretty real - you need to find another way of getting across water. Now if you'll excuse me, I need to run off and find a chipmunk and an oriole.

The Course of True Love part 2 mission
Foxtrot replied to gamerfan1010's topic in Red Dead Redemption 2
From watching the YouTube, I believe so. Note that you only need to go unspotted in one direction to get the gold. You don't need to be so careful on the return trip. -
The Course of True Love part 2 mission
Foxtrot replied to gamerfan1010's topic in Red Dead Redemption 2
Dang. Just saw this in my mission list despite looking through the whole lot twice. I got a silver there and didn't complete it in time. There's a YouTube for this, describing the route for the gold medal. And the gold medal here counts, so at least that question is answered. Sorry for the misdirection, blame it on my phone or my eyes. -
The Course of True Love part 2 mission
Foxtrot replied to gamerfan1010's topic in Red Dead Redemption 2
Well I got a gold medal for part III, so I'd guess that a 5-year-old child could also get a gold medal there. It's basically an interactive cut scene, so just go through the motions as quickly as you can. -
I don't know whether you're like me or not, but I only really look at the journal when Arthur/John draws something, or I have a quick look when I open it accidentally (usually pressing the wrong button trying to open the satchel). I read a bit at the start of the game and then largely overlooked it. Arthur put a lot of effort into creating this journal - I think it's pretty important that we also put some effort into reading it, he did leave it for those who follow, after all.

It looks as though there's a few wasp nests around. This is one near Elysian Pool

The Course of True Love part 2 mission
Foxtrot replied to gamerfan1010's topic in Red Dead Redemption 2
I basically rode at full speed toward the shore to the north side of Braithwaite manor and then duck-ran straight toward the pavilion, then took the same route on the way back. Expanding the mini-map helps you see where the guards are and which way they're looking. It's fine to run in front of them if you don't get too close while crouched. Oddly, only the third part of this mission appears in my mission list, so getting a gold on part2 might not matter.
