  1. Watch out for the Stranger ‘honor’ missions that also contribute to the completion list. It’s easy to miss those when you’re only looking at the yellow dots.
  2. I wandered around that old oil derrick for many in-game days and nights without seeing anything but rabbits and deer. I finally accepted that badgers turn up when you least expect them to.
  3. Dang, sorry about that, I mis-remembered that. I had thought that I got all the bones on my previous run through. It was the carvings and dreamcatchers I must have completed.
  4. Umm. No. The bones and carvings (and dreamcatchers) can all be found before the epilogue chapters. Its the legendary animals and fish, and some challenges that needs access to the new area on the map.
  5. I found mine near Bolger’s Gate. Theres also got spots near Bacchus Station, north of Strawberry, and near the trapper at Riggs Station. Make sure you have the Buck trinket and use a varmint rifle to maximise the chance of a perfect pelt. They’re not a commonly spawning animal and can be a pain to track down.
  6. RDR2map.com Pretty much the best resource for this kind of thing - it lists the location of pretty much everything.
  7. Yes, that’s when I’m hoping. Not that I mind too much, there’s enough treasure around to get the explorer challenge without it.
  8. I think it’s largely because people move off story mode and get more into the online modes, something that this news story has somehow not mentioned at all...
  9. And #9 is also incorrect, there’s a few legendary fish below 19kg. The legendary perch happily fits in the satchel!
  10. I don’t think it’s a loot box, it’s just a box in the cupboard. This house forms part of a story mission, but I don’t think that cupboard has anything to do with anything.
  11. No, I don’t think the marker appears. It’s been a while since I did this, but I think I just made my way there and knocked on the door.
  12. The raven claw talisman (the only use for the compass) only slows weapon degradation, so missing this one has no effect on your ability to 100% complete the game. So there’s no big problem in not picking this one up. Plus, it’s not a naval compass, so you can’t give it to Pearson.
  13. I got the ‘sketched map’ from the cottage north of Annesburg and made my way to the hill above the Elysian pool to collect the treasure. I was hoping this would be a quick win. But when I got there and looked behind the right stone, all I saw was a hole in the ground and no option to search. I got this treasure fine in my previous play through, and I’m pretty sure that you can’t find a treasure with having the map first, so where the heck is it? Does it take a while to spawn the treasure for some reason?
  14. Don’t mess with the guard to start with. Just climb over the fence directly behind the oil cart that you’re going to steal.
  15. It’s pretty simple. Just go around the back of the oil yard so that you see the oil cart over the fence in the yard. Then climb over the fence, get on the cart and ride off through the gate to the left. The guards aren’t mounted, so you can leave them behind pretty quickly. Look on YouTube, there’s plenty of videos of the best ways of doing missions.
  16. Im sure there’s plenty of people here who have put in more hours than me. I got to chapter 6 on my first play before realising that I missed an optional mission back in chapter 3. That was after I found all the bones and all the dreamcatchers. I started over again and got to chapter 3 again before taking time out to grab some collectibles and all the satchels. Its kind of a nice place to do this, before Arthur starts coughing his guts up too much.
  17. Almost 450 hours for me now, and I still have so much to do...
  18. A new game means starting over from scratch. You’ll need to get back to that bar in valentine to chase down the gunfighters again.
  19. Were there any DLC packs for GTA V? No. Did R* make a gazillion dollars from GTA V? Oh yes. I think that RDR2 will be the same, there’s enough in the core game to keep casual offline gamers happy for many moths (as opposed to the few days gameplay for titles like Tomb Raider and Call of Duty). I believe that R* will add more to the online aspect of the game and pretty much ignore story mode. Online is where the money is, this has been proven time and time again for many popular franchises. I personally prefer story mode, I don’t have the time or mentality for online gaming. Will the lack of story mode DLC stop me from enjoying RDR2? No, not really- there’s plenty for me to do in this world.
  20. I suspect that this is one of the horses used to pull the wagons from one camp to another. Hence there being no saddle and you not being able to take it for yourself.
  21. Finally got the final satchel. I found the wolf up on the frozen lake fighting a grizzly, and the cougar was remarkably easy once I knew where to go.
  22. I just checked the strategy guide. Each mission in this strand pops up 48 in-game hours after the previous one ends. Like I said above, they might become unavailable if there’s an ongoing mission or at night.
  23. More than once, I’ve rescued someone from bad guys, only to end up trampling the person I’m supposed to be rescuing...
  24. Sometimes stranger missions are disabled while you have another mission in progress. Sometimes they’re only active at certain times of the day. So this one might be a time-of-day thing. Or there may be enemies/predators too close to the spawn site, but that’s just a guess.
  25. Murfee or Nite Folk, they’re not zombies. If they were , it would be common knowledge on the internet by now...
