  1. That's good. ......that you have been harassed like that since. What can I say? There are people like that in all PvP games I've played even on console where hacks are not likely. You still get people who can find exploits and ways to screw with people. There are even posses that advertise that they are all about griefing others. They will literally try to follow other players to other sessions, etc. Your best bet is to simply refuse to engage with them whenever possible. Put them on your ignore list like you did, use the in-game reporting feature, etc. Log out and then return to another lobby. If they follow you, then just log off again. If there are settings you can use to make yourself less visible online, then do that. You may even have recourse through MS or Sony if you're on console by reporting them. I think I had it happen once to me but we simply stopped engaging with them and switched servers once again. .....making sure I got all of their names their names this time around so I could add them to my ignore list and report to R*. These guys get off on trying to get a rise out of people. If you take that opportunity away from them, they will move on.
  2. Sorry to hear of your harassment at the hands of others during your gaming session but yes, it goes against the rules to name names in here. .....otherwise known as shaming. You're best bet is to not engage and move on to be honest. R* has reporting features so use those if you have issues with others. Having said that, welcome to the forums and please feel free to mingle.

  4. https://www.videogameschronicle.com/news/rockstar-owner-discusses-remasters-strategy-says-its-not-interested-in-simple-ports/ The CEO of Rockstar owner Take-Two has discussed the company’s approach to remastering older titles and its efforts to differentiate itself from its competition in this area. Rockstar is currently gearing up to bring a remastered version of Grand Theft Auto V to PS5 and Xbox Series X/S in the second half of calendar 2021 Speaking during the Morgan Stanley Technology, Media & Telecom Conference on Wednesday (transcribed by VGC), Take-Two boss Strauss Zelnick was asked how he feels about remasters potentially becoming a bigger part of the company’s strategy going forward. “I’m not sure there’ll be a bigger part of the strategy,” he responded. “Remastering has always been a part of the strategy. We’ve done differently than the competition – we don’t just port titles over, we actually take the time to do the very best job we can making the title different for the new release, for the new technology that we’re launching it on. Grand Theft Auto V has shipped 140 million units “So, we improve the technology, we upgrade the visuals, and we make performance enhancements. And that’s why I think our remastered titles typically do so well.” On GTAV’s upcoming next-gen console version, Zelnick said he was confident the remaster would deliver a strong experience for players. “We’ve done great with the Mafia series, for example, and Grand Theft Auto [V] is now heading into its third generation which is incredible, he said. “It was a standard-bearer when it was launched, it continued to be the standard-bearer in the second generation, we’ll see how Grand Theft Auto does in the next generation. Obviously, I’m confident that Rockstar is going to deliver just a great experience, but you can’t do that if you’re just doing a simple port.” During Take-Two’s third quarter earnings call in February, Zelnick offered a non-committal response when asked about the potential for remastering older Grand Theft Auto games. In a Q&A session, an analyst suggested it was likely that a significant portion of GTAV players might never have played earlier games in the series. Given the huge appetite for Grand Theft Auto content, he asked for Take-Two’s perspective on further remasters. “It’s a great and encouraging question,” Zelnick responded. “I’m kind of inclined to leave it more as a statement than a question and any update on our release schedule will come from Rockstar Games.” Mafia: Trilogy, a collection of remasters and a remake, was released in May 2020 FURTHER READING 6 Take-Two CEO asked about GTA remasters as Grand Theft Auto V ships 140m “It’s a great and encouraging question” Zelnick rolled out this line again on Wednesday when asked during the Morgan Stanley conference if he could provide an update of when Grand Theft Auto 6 will be released. “So, Rockstar hasn’t announced any new titles for the market and when there’s an announcement to be made, it will come from Rockstar, so I’ll probably leave you there, and I don’t think you would have expected anything different from me”, he said. Grand Theft Auto V has shipped over 140 million units, with the game selling more copies in 2020 than in any other year except for 2013 when it first released for PS3 and Xbox 360, according to Take-Two.

  6. If you're talking about the additional solo content spoken of in this article, they are talking about the future of RDO and GTAO. .....not necessarily what's been released so far or specifically about a particular update soon to release, etc. Essentially, players can expect more of a focus on solo content in these games which may be good news for those looking for more of an SP experience.
  7. I think your chances are slim and none. .....and Slim just left. ....but good luck.
  8. Here's another article regarding Take Two CEO's comments during a recent earnings call on the subject of solo content. Personally, I think it's good news for those who enjoy playing solo. I also thought the solo feature in the recent heist in GTAO was a vindication of sorts for those who have been asking for more SP content given the high level of engagement:
  9. Personally, I was never bothered by the sacrifice in graphics given the benefits (in my case at least) when I switched full time to console. The issue was even less so on PS4 and will be much less when I can get my hands on a PS5. I guess it also makes a difference when I'm gaming on a 60" big screen 6-7 feet away on my couch vs. being only a couple feet from a monitor in my office.

  11. .....but it happened over two years ago which was my point. Let's move on.
  12. ....I fail to see your point mentioning this two years later, but ok.
  13. ...since this isn't PC specific, I'll move it to the online section for more visibility.
  14. You're on PC I'm guessing? No, hacking is still something that is a problem on that platform and I would expect it always will be until they tire of it. PC has always been that way to some degree in all games I have played when I was building and playing on them decades before I moved over to console.
  15. .....to add to what I said earlier, Take Two recently confirmed their commitment to single player in their games: "The folks at Rockstar Games intended to create a powerful single-player experience and a story-driven experience... and then developed in addition, a massive multiplayer opportunity over the past years." "There was an argument just a couple of years ago, not around here, not in this shop, but in some of our competitors' offices, that single-player is dead, that it's all about multiplayer. We didn't believe that. I said specifically and publicly that we didn't believe that, our labels don't believe that". Sseems you're trying to boycott one of the few game developers that felt so strongly about single player experiences when everyone else didn't. .....and that hasn't changed now that some of those others have made the shift back realizing their error.
  16. This is a two year old discussion but I think @Foxtrotwas right that it's just an object that has nothing to do with anything except for simply being part of the game world like a chair, etc. It seems you're trying to find "triggers" where none exist. As far as game companies only worrying about online, you couldn't have picked a worse example IMO / IME. R* is one of the few who actually doubled down on their commitment to creating full, rich, single player campaigns when many others were stepping away or even abandoning them all together. Some studios found out the hard way about the interest in SP modes as they have found their way back. RDR2 was a very long, complete campaign with an immense amount of detail and depth. Personally, I ran into very few bugs in the story mode and those that I did were not what I would consider game breaking. I know those on PC which released much later had a rougher time though. In regard to joining a movement, I have to ask, to what end? RDR2 released 2 1/2 years ago and a year after that on PC. It was a huge success for R*. What exactly do you think a boycott will accomplish with this game at this point and with this much success? Sorry, I can't say that I (for one) am with you on this fight because first, I played the campaign over two years ago and second, I enjoyed the hell out of it. ......I'm actually looking forward to a possible remaster on next gen of RDR2 as well as the one planned for GTAV/O.
  17. I would advise adding your platform (e.g. PC, XB, PS4) to your title and / or original post.
  18. Please don't advertise your posse on others recruitment threads unless they are specifically asking to join others groups. The OP is asking for people to join them to specifically run their wagons with them. The rules are in the sticky at the top of this sub-forum. Thank you.
  19. .......moved this out of the recruitment sub-forum and into the online section where it belongs.
  20. ‘Red Dead Online’ promises gifts and solo content after record-breaking year Both games will be focusing on players who play alone ByMiri Teixeira 9th February 2021 Red Dead Redemption. 22. I'm over the half century mark myself and glad you're enjoying the game. I'm going to move this over the Online section since it should get more attention there.
