I am relaxed but to be honest, I could do without the condescending remarks. The only reason I gave you the warning was because I saw a new guy necro-bumping an over 1 year old thread for the obvious purpose of trolling community members who take issue with griefing in-game. This is already an obviously contentious, long-standing concern in the RDO community so much so that R* early on has taken steps to mitigate through many updates, in-game mechanics, etc. throughout RDO's life. As I've already said but I will repeat for clarification, I don't care what you do in the game (I really don't) but I do take issue when someone tries to troll members in these forums. I was being courteous by approving your first post and explaining that to you vs. going with my gut reaction, deleting it and maybe following up with a warning so I don't have to go through all of this. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions and I'll be happy to answer but I really don't want to get into an argument with someone in a public thread regarding issues you may have with our forum rules or moderator decisions. Otherwise, carry on. Thank You

Yeah, there's always a risk with new consoles but Playstation has had a relatively decent track record and Sony in general for me. I didn't have problems with my PS3 nor my PS4 except for the noisy fan issue years later which is mitigated by cleaning. I don't think you need to wait a year to get a good gauge on any problems Sony or Microsoft is having on their next gens, but it's understandable why some would hold off. I'm not a brand loyalist either but my PS consoles have been solid performers and my Sony equipment in general. My network of gaming friends are all on PS as well so that play into it. ......and then there's the backward compatibility with all he PS4 games I have. In regard to the private chat recordings, I think it's being blown out of proportion by some to be honest and like it or not, we've always been bound to their ToS when using their system for chat. Sony will not be actively monitoring conversations. This feature is only to allow others in the party to report participants being abusive to them. Sony will review and take action if their ToS has been breached. ....so unless you're throwing around racial slurs, threatening to SWAT someone, etc., it's not likely to be an issue. Besides that, how many people do you invite to a party chat that you aren't already acquainted with? Those kinds of people I only interact with via in-game chat if at all. .....which again, many game companies will allow you to report for the same concerns. The only people I'm involved with in party chat are friends of mine or friends of friends. ......and I'm never abusive to them anyhow beyond joking around (as we all do) so it's really a moot point in my case. Having said that, I don't get why this is even a thing in party chat given that I doubt most even invite random people. Is this something they discovered was a problem? I honestly don't see how it could be to be honest. In-game chat is one thing as you can't control what others say besides reporting and muting them, but party chat is controlled by the host. You have the ability to boot them from the chat session, make it private so they can't join, block the user, etc. Do they really need a way to report someone in party chat? .......I don't think so personally but it also doesn't bother me given the reasons I mentioned. I'm not at all worried about this feature being used against me but then again, I'm not playing with random people I don't know or that I can't gauge how they would react. btw, the new system only records the last 40 seconds so it's not as if someone can use it against you later if you have a falling out, etc. It has to be then and there as it occurs. .....but again, I'm not worried as everyone in my PSN friends list aren't a bunch of SJW's, etc. that are easily offended. They'll just delete you from their friends list and block if they find you annoying. .....easy peasy.

....I don't get it.

After 5 months of playing, we have some feedback...
Kean_1 replied to jjmartyr's topic in Red Dead Online
The following is a page that has a link to R* Technical Support and their Feedback site. On the feedback site, there is a 500 character limit from what I remember so it's advisable to perhaps break up your suggestions and submit piece meal. Also, you'll need to understand that is is more of a suggestion box. I would not expect a response but that doesn't mean they don't read the submissions. R* doesn't have an official forum but please, feel free to continue to share and discuss your ideas here as well. That's why the owner created this fan site. As for R* devs seeing anything that is posted here, they never have made their presence known if they have but then again, R* rarely does (if ever). .....but it is common for game companies to have employees who comb through social media for feedback (e.g. Twitter, Reddit, fan forums, etc.). A lot of companies do beyond gaming. -

If you know me Sigill, I've been there on many occasions to greet new members when no one else has, assist people out when I have the answers, respond to PMs requesting help / expressing concerns and so on, vetting new members / initial posts as quickly as possible, posting weekly news as a resource to the community, responding to reports from community members and stopping spammers / trolls before they become a problem for others. It's not my business if someone is trolling people in the game and if they want to wrap that in the guise of "just in fun" or "role playing", so be it. That's between them, R* and their victims. .....but to come here, confess you are a griefer and then prod other members on a highly contentious topic (which they would know if they really did bother to read this 3 page topic), that's not ok IMO. It's not "role playing" for someone to admit they are griefer in the game and then come here to troll community members. That's trolling plain and simple. They are looking to get a rise out of some people in this community and incite conflict with those remarks. btw, the warning / explanation I provided was already what I would consider a courtesy.
-
@Tys Kelly, If you've come here with the sole purpose of just stirring up angst with those remarks, you're in the wrong place. Trolling is not allowed on these forums

I played it for a while after release but I quit and deleted it a long time ago. I only bought it because of a friend but he ended up getting tired of it too. Sorry, I would if we were still playing.

No, I meant I already moved it for you to the main Online forum. -

Moving this to the main Online section since it's not necessarily PC specific. It will get more views there. -
Yeah, I know what you meant. I just was having a little fun since you called out RDO being a poorly developed game and then mentioned that you can't wait to buy an Ubi title. IMO, Ubi hit rock bottom with Breakpoint. ....well, I thought they did with FC5 but definitely with GR:B. I'd pick R* over Ubi any day in terms of developement quality. I do agree with you on Cyberpunk though. I am looking forward to that game on both PS4 and then later on PS5.
-
...had to laugh a bit when I saw "good game development" and a current Ubi title used in the same sentence.

Yeah, I don't watch all of Ian's stuff on FW but I find most of it really interesting especially when he's able to take one out on the range that follows his review. ....which is why I try to watch them in order if I can. Quirky / nerdy guy but he really knows his stuff. I guess he's collaborated with Vikers on other books like the one on AK47s if I remember correctly. I think some gaming companies should be hitting up experts like this rather than some of the "advisors" if they really want "authenticity" in their shooters, etc. Not all military advisors have the intricate knowledge historians, other vets and even civilians that take much more of an interest in military weapons, etc.

This is the picture I was trying to link to and yes, it was an XM177(E). You can see the stamping in the second pic of the rifle below the Colt AR-15 marking. .....and of course the M203 stamp on the launcher (this is one is made by Colt): Seems the first M203s went to Vietnam in early 1970 for field testing and then were put into service in large numbers after that evaluation was completed but apparently manufactured by Colt rather than AAI at that point. Ian McCollum (Forgotten Weapons) did an overview on the M203 as well as Vickers retro build of his CAR15. He also did a review on Vickers AR15 book. Here's the article where I got those pics: http://www.modernforces.com/weapon_xm177.htm

Just so there's no misunderstanding, this site has no affiliation with R*. Their feedback site is also more of a suggestion box. They won't respond to input that is submitted but simply use it to see what players want. I do know that the PS4 had some exclusives but why some things are held back if they are already released on both consoles, I don't know.
-
Yeah, you guys need to be more clear and if it is the guides here, please provide more details as to what exactly you think is wrong with them please. Keep in mind that I haven't played the main campaign since around the time the RDO beta launched so personally, I won't be able to verify anything but if others can, let me know and I will forward to the owner / Admin if it seems there is an error.
-
Yes, please point out which guides your speak of and any specifics you can provide if it's the ones on this site. Thanks.

TWO STRIKING LEGENDARY MOOSE SEEN GRAZING IN THE WILD Track Down These New Legendary Animals for Considerable Reward Legendary Moose, massive and looming, have been spotted ambling around the wilds of the frontier. Moose are very shy creatures that run if startled and are surprisingly nimble for their size. The Snowflake Moose blends into its snowy surroundings off Barrow Lagoon. Keep an eye out for its massive black antlers contrasted against the snow. This particular creature prefers to graze on rainy nights, so dress in your warmest leathers before leading an expedition. The Knight Moose, meanwhile, is most known for its pitch-dark coat and has been rumored to frequent the northern section of the Kamassa River bed during the day. Approach quietly and keep a steady hand to sedate or skin the beast. Sedating and sampling any Legendary moose will land you an Offer for 30% off a Weapon of your choice. GUS’ TRAPPER STORE Should you choose to use lethal force, swing by Gus Macmillan’s Store to sell either the Snowflake or Knight Moose Pelt for an additional 50% payout through October 5th. Doing so will also enable Gus to craft two new Garment Sets for your collection.
