  1. I completed this in like 30seconds. Rode into Valentine and a posse tried being cute. 3 shots = mission complete.
  2. I'm with you. Lol. I'm gonna feed you so that you have the strength to kill me later? Nah, I'm good. Besides, it isn't that hard to find an animal to kill. They are everywhere.
  3. I hear you. I am in the 180s and it is like 10k+ for each level now. Got tired of sitting on wagons for 10mins. Lol. Never been a huge fan of Showdown but it has grown on me these past few weeks. I make more money and xp too. Spoils of War is my favorite and Hostile Territory is a close second.
  4. People always assume people hack to achieve high levels. It is easy to rank up fast. You just have to manage your time in game wisely. Showdown yields good money/xp. Replaying story missions and stranger missions pay descent. I ranked up a ton playing Spoils of War last week. Stranger missions are cool and all, but holding a wagon or bag for 10mins gets old. In that time I can run two Showdown matches.
  5. Correct. But It seems to want you to play Target Races. Which is sad because the payout is thrash. Really wish Spoils of War had it's own tab.
  6. Biggest thing people fail to grasp is that what you consider fun may not necessarily be fun for someone else. There are many types of players in free roam and the different play styles make it fun. Some players just want to hunt , fish or whatever. Fine. Map is big enough were you can do that if you want. Hell, you are lucky to see another player for hours sometimes. Some players just want to watch the world burn and get enjoyment out of creating chaos. I'm fine with this also. Than you have players like myself who get enjoyment out of hunting the Devil's Rejects in addition to missions showdown, etc. In a weird way, the wolves hunt the sheep and the sheepdogs hunt the wolves. I think it balances out well. The new bounty system does hurt the sheepdogs though. That is the one thing I think is BS. I shouldn't get a bounty for helping out 2 low levels from a couple of bullies. I'm not going to quote history or anything like that . It isn't needed. I think R* is trying to create a world in RDR where anything can happen. They are just trying to find the perfect balance between sheep, wolves and sheepdogs. But I feel you need to have all these players in the same lobby to make the game enjoyable for all.
  7. Dual sawed offs to the face is a great deterrent. Gotta give them credit for trying. I watched a guy camp the butcher in Valentine just taking stuff off people's horses. He was slick about it. I did shoot him before I went to the butcher though. But you be amazed how many people didn't see him taking birds, deers , etc off their horse and selling it.
  8. Nope. That is why you always grab your carcass off the horse and put on your shoulder. Only way a lurker can't try to steal it.
  9. I always have a bounty. Lol. I have given up on bounties. I seem to average a $ 20 bounty most times. I have gotten use to it at this point.
  10. Horses are a bit wacky online. I have a Silver Turk that is dumb as rocks , an Ardennes with skiddish tendencies. My black Arabian is braver than the Ardennes which makes zero sense. But my main horse is the Tiger Stripped Mustang . Horse fears nothing and is always were I need it to be . Had a MFT but sold it because it tripped over air and was scared of everything. As soon as I got off it , it would just run away. Don't get it because in story mode it was my main. Maybe I had a lemon but I noticed similar issues with my turks. My Dark Bay Turk was the best, while the Silver one is suspect as hell . Wouldn't surprise me if each horse has additional behavior traits . Like I find my female horses to be a lot better overall compared to the males.
  11. While in gun shop in Annesburg, I watched a player take a perfect cougar off my horse and replace it with a 1 star deer. I watched the whole thing. I let him get back to his horse before I shot him. I had to laugh.
  12. I get that and am not trying to make it personal. I have no issue playing solo and avoiding other players if I choose to. It is not that hard. And you really believe Rockstar cares about griefing when one of their most popular game to date thrives off it? C'mon. They want to make sure the player base is buying Gold Bars. They will make changes to ensure that happens. And no I haven't "busted a gut" . It honestly makes me terribly sad how the gaming community has changed over the years. But I get it, everyone has spent $60-$100 and should have the game they want. But there will always be someone who isn't 100% happy. It is impossible to please everyone. I think the griefing/troll issue is blown out of proportion just a tad. I am on most nights after real life duties and rarely have these kinds of issues. I might have a player/posse try something in a 4hr+ gaming session but it isn't all the time like people claim. I'm almost Level 200 and I just don't see this End of Days server that people keep claiming they are in with all the hours I have logged online. And to say you can't go online and have fun solo or with friends is false. I know hundreds of players that do daily and most hate PVP.
  13. Really can't compare the two. You don't have to hunt for food in GTA to maintain health cores or as a source of income. I have fun daily solo or with friends without game breaking issues. I guess I don't get it. I can go home tonight and hop in showdown or run missions or re up my big game meat. Nothing I encounter will make me want to take my ball and go home. "Outlaw for Life" and passive mode does make me chuckle.
  14. I mean according to my server last night, there were 44 other players in there. Yet I hardly saw anyone expect for the 3 jabronis volunteering for target practice. People should be happy. You can play for hours without seeing another player now. It is beyond easy to run missions solo now even more than before. Yeah I had a $40 bounty the other night while fighting "The Justice League" Posse, and of course mid fight they came to collect. Lol. Really hated loosing $40 . Didn't realize you still loose the bounty if you refuse to flee area.
  15. I'm all for dealing with trolls but these 50 man "I Am the Law Squads" are also problematic. Many get drunk with their self appointed power and cause more harm than good. Had 2 morons jump me and two of my buddies the other night. We had no problem dealing with them, but some roaming " Justice Squad" thought we were griefing them. Now we are dealing with the original idiots and an additional 7 man posse. We found it funny cause they really believed they were saving someone. I have yet to have a player or group of players ruin my gaming experience in RDR Online. I run solo and with posse (depending on mood). Do I encounter idiots attempting to troll me? Of course. But that is part of what I love about online. I love the challenge . If that element was taken away...I most likely move on. Game would be extremely boring then IMO. If I want to just hunt fish and do stranger missions in peace, I go back to story. But since I already 100% the game, really wouldn't be nothing for me to do anymore. I had a 3 man posse following my posse around the map last night as we ran missions. For me it was something to do. I will gladly take the Xp of shooting people who don't get the hint. But it didn't slow down or interfere with our mission completion rate. Only thing that was annoying was the bounty I had for shooting them over and over, THAT is annoying. That whole system is broken.
  16. Exactly. What's the point. There is nothing out now that is MUST have. You grind enough, you will get what you want or need.
  17. Of course there is. I was being a smartass. But I just hit 166 last night, and unless I focus on camp upgrades....not really much for me to buy. I have upgraded the 12 cards I use to level 3, got all weapons I need, pamphlets, etc. But if I was a lower lever....I still wouldn' t be tempted. Never been a fan of glitches/exploits. But I understand others are different.
  18. ok.....you have nothing to worry about. But they know how to track money. If your character made ie $40k in 24hr. R* is going to call bullsh*t. Don't see why you would be concerned. I have spent way more money than you have and I am not even thinking about this. I haven't even brought a cougar to the butcher in over a week. Problem is when people hear "they may roll back accounts" they freak out. But if you didn't participate in the activity in question............you don't have a thing to worry about. If you were one of the people that farmed that for days, than yes. There could be a chance they take funds from you or items you purchased with said funds.
  19. Glitch has been fixed. For awhile you couldn't even sell cougars to butcher. You can now. I think they will address players who abused this with next update. I am guessing they will roll back money on peoples account that abused this. The did this with GTA Online . But I honestly don't know why you would have abused this to get a few thousands of dollars. What are you going to spend it on? Emotes? LOL.
  20. R* doesn't want you to be in PVE only mode earning money with no risk. They want you to buy Gold. And if you are grinding away in a Farmville mode, you most likely will not buy Gold and have a ton of cash. Why do you think they nerfed hunting?
  21. I hear you man. I agree. It is an open world game. People don't want to adapt. I would be never enter online if I just wanted to hunt , fish and be left alone. Because the minute I got shot I would be salty and butt hurt. Why do that to myself? R* may give people the Farmville mode they crave. I honestly hope they do. Because watering down normal mode will kill this game. And no I don't need or want PVErs for easy kills. I'm not a lame. I love doing missions with my posse as well as getting in gun fights. Matter fact I am part of a large Anti Griefer Community. We get called in to clear servers of trolls all the time. I love that. But with this new Brokeback Mountain update, I now will get penalized for helping out others. Thanks R*
  22. Sounds good to me. I like it.
  23. Yeah I don't know. Very frustrating. I think the new parley system gives advantage to griefers. You should never be punished for defending yourself. I just had finished a mission at Fort Wallace when 2 posses appeared out of nowhere. I'm guess it was a PVP dump off. But they started shooting my posse up. I started fighting back and instantly got a posse parley from both of them. Like you attacked us?! Now I just killed 6 players in an act of self defense and am now wanted for Murder. I need to sell whatever the numbnuts who came up with this is smoking. I have yet to figure out how many people you have to kill to be bright red. Haven't seen any data on that yet.
  24. It isn't that . A week ago I had no issues. Now I am being punished for self defense? It is dumb. So what you are saying is that I allow these people to kill me so that I can parley them out? Sorry, I am not built like that . My main focus is running stranger missions with my posse to level people up. I shouldn't have to worry about defending myself against bounty hunters when I haven't done anything. I have zero interest in griefing/trolling other players. But I am not a defenseless sheep either.
  25. So I'm suppose to ignore the guy on top of the train station shooting at me while I'm trying to get a stranger mission from Aldren? Come on man. You can't be serious. My posse and I like to crank out missions at a good clip. I'm not going to avoid towns because of potential roof campers that don't show up on this new fancy map.
