When hunting I always use my Mustang. I use the Arabian for gun fights and stranger missions. Gunfire doesn't phase her at all. Throw Turks in to change things up. I might eventually get another MFT at some point but the first 2 left such a bad taste in my mouth I may hold off. I like using certain horses for specific activities. Can I hunt predators with my Arabian? Sure, I just have to be more cautious and not run in like John Rambo. Also with players loving to shoot your horse, I like having horses with higher health. Each breed has a certain temperament and I have found each individual horse does too. My Arabian is surprisingly chill and not very vocal. Maybe I lucked out. Mustang might be a mute because she hardly utters a sound. Turks are both mouthy and antsy. I'm glad not every horse has the same generic temperament. Keeps things interesting. I would maybe go back to story mode and buy horses to try them out before wasting money online. You should be sitting on ton of cash if you beat the game. Just a thought.

Lancaster is good at mid range combat . CQC, shotgun will always be king. My standard loadout for Showdown is dual sawed offs , Springfield or Bolt and double barreled shotgun.

That is why I like it and rock it. I think it looks like it is made out of human skin. I dig it. lol.

Exactly.

Black Arabian and MFT are the best for races. Especially rocking the Panther saddle. You can win with others....but those two increase your chances. But if you like races , cool. Just don't expect to make a ton of money or XP doing them.

There is no BEST horse, it is all situational and personal preference. I feel the horses in online act a lot different than Story Mode. I loved MFT in story mode. Unfortunately , the ones I got in online were pure thrash. Would crash into everything and run away as soon as I got off it. Everything scared those clumsy fools. Both went to the glue factory . I have 2 Turks (Gold and Silver). Silver one is just dumb, I mean dumb. The Gold one is great but still quirky . I bought a Black Arabian ( really hate this breed) and it surprisingly is a beast. Only cougars make it go nuts. Handles like a dream. But my favorite horse is the Tiger Stripped Bay Mustang. She may not be the fastest but is the one. Doesn't run when scared, doesn't trip over air, fears nothing (actually kicked a bear), honey badger mentality, etc. A lot lot of people swear by a certain breed and I used to be that way too. It was Turk or MFT and screw the rest. But I have realized that there are actually better horses for me than those two. A strong honorable mention would be the Rose Grey Andalusian. The Turks and MFT both perform like the awkward teenager who grew to fast and isn't used to their body yet. At least in my online experience (have owned 3 Turks/ 2 MFT to date). I also feel the female horses behave much better than males of the same breed. Weird. But I wouldn't get all hung up on speed, acceleration ,etc. With the Panther saddle, it boost all the breeds plenty. I go with a horse that performs well overall and that you feel most comfortable with. For me it is usually Succubus (Mustang), but some days I take Kill Em All (Black Arabian) out because I love that handling and temperament. The Turks are brought out less and less these days.

I love playing Showdown but have zero interest in the nonsense people say, yell , blasting music, barking out orders , name calling, etc. So if I am solo, I just set up a PS4 Party Chat and play music. Don't have to worry about a thing. Otherwise I couldn't deal. There isn't enough time to mute the kiddies, heavy mouth breathers, foreigners screaming in their native tongue, etc. Been using PS4 Party Chat a lot more , especially since the last major update. I really don't understand why people don't mute their mics.

Every build has already has counter. And Never Without One Only allows you to tank 1 head shot. Not a big deal because once you loose your hat, your squishy as hell. Also you can build a DPS build and focus on body shots. Problem solved. Everything can be countered if you take time to look at the cards and figure out which ones stack well together. Most people stick with the same 4 cards and never experiment with others. That is the real problem.

It was a generalized statement about the tone of this thread overall. Don't flatter yourself. Nice try though. Must have gone over your head . I don't get upset over video games or people in a chat forum sadly attempting to be tough. I'm not that thin skinned or simple minded.

Logic is not allowed here sir. Shame on you!

The whole thing is being blown out of proportion. If you kill more animals than you can carry, they despawn. They respawn fairly quickly. It is not like the buffalo spawn once in a day cycle or something. I just don't understand to need to simplify one of the games basic activities. In GTA , your character was not dependent on food like it is in RDO. Apples and oranges. I played solo until about level 50 and not once did I feel the need to go to the local Red Dead Soup Kitchen for a hot free meal. I don't feel it really has a place or is needed. Nothing should be free. Want food? Hunt/buy. Want money/xp? Grind missions/Showdown,etc. Seems pretty simple. Why over complicate it? I'm all for people buying all the meat you can hunt in game from the butcher. If you don't want to hunt or can't shoot animals...you have the options to buy what you need. Handouts are never a good idea. And I feel most have been respectful for the most part. It is just some people like to release their dark side apparently when people don't agree with them. No need to lash out at people. I understand this is the internet, but still. No need to get insulting or disrespectful. I know personally I am an asshole. And I am fine with that. But I have behaved myself very well even when provoked. So Chill out. Maybe try decaf.

Exactly. I have friends that mainly play Showdown series. They buy 90% of their food from the General Store because they don't feel like or want to hunt. I personal think it is a waste of money but more power to them. They only hunt animals that have fat for explosive rounds. You either buy your food or hunt it. When I first started out at Level 4, I went up to where Mama Watson was and lasso than kill elk all day. EASY.

But it promotes laziness. That is the issue. Hunting is not hard at all. If people don't want to hunt or whatever, I have no issue with the butcher selling pork , venison, beef, big game meat at a premium. Free handouts isn't needed. Sorry. You want food, you hunt or buy it. RDR2 welfare isn't needed. Mine as well completely cut the balls off the game if nonsense like that is implemented.

That is because a lot of players are pure thrash without the aim bot to hold their hands. I use SB in that game mode too because I know chances I get shot by a varmit, evans, etc are slim. You aren't untouchable by any means in SB, your survival is just higher because a large portion of the player base depends on the aim bot. Once you loose that crutch, SB is a non issue. The better you are at free aiming ,the deadly you become.

Pretty much. Couldn't have said it better.

More than One Way to Earn a Buck is good. But the fastest way to earn money/xp is playing Showdown series. Particularly winning Most Wanted and Name Your Weapon. I average $14-$44+ every match and 300-650+ Xp every 7mins. By far the best payout currently across the board for time spent in game.
-
Not all of us are good people. And I have no issue with that. If you are in my posse I will gladly help you out. But to help randoms? Hell to the nah. Does that make me cold or callus? Maybe....but again it is just a game not volunteering at the local Soup Kitchen.

That happened to me when Online first came out. I usually would just do a server jump or do a quick join Showdown match. It usually fixed the problem.
-
Hunting it literally the easiest thing to do in this game. If you can't provide food for yourself, this may not be your bag. It is beyond easy. No need to have a free handout service for food. I'm sorry but it would water down this game even more. This isn't a knock on anyone , but it is totally unnecessary to have this . That is like me starting a Go Fund Me so I can get a Turkoman.
-
I played regular Showdown(not large) last night for about 3hrs. It pops up pretty often in that series. That seems to be the only place I see it pop up on a consistent basis.
-
Lol...Yeah. If I could skin people and sell it to the butcher...I would.
-
If you think that is mean, than I am the Devil's Favorite Demon. I feel nothing for anything in this game. Why? Cause it is a game. I get 200xp a day on running bunnies over because it is easy points...and is kinda funny how dumb they are. Well if you rope deer and stick a knife in their neck.....you don't have to worry about ruining pelt. But than again the sound they make may get to you....
-
No. Because just like in real life, I don't kill in excess. If I have 6 big game meat, I know I just need to kill one gator to top me off at 10. I'm not going to pop 5 more just because. I'm just always aware of what I need (ie fat, deer meat, big game meat, etc). I actually memorize what I need before I go hunting . I'm also cheap, I don't waste bullets if I don't have to. Like I said, I get the idea. But you can also buy meat from the butcher if you really need it. Not a fan of anything being given out for free . But that is just me.

You are making no sense. You can carry 2 whole turkeys on your horse and store up to 10 plump bird meat. Why would you shoot 6 turkeys to begin with? I am a bit puzzled. Kill what you need. I get your idea but you really don't want to water things down anymore. It is so easy to find food. Hell, I can hunt deer and elk with just my knife and rope ( which I actually do).
