Exactly . High risk, high reward . I have zero issue with it. I'm glad it is part of the game. You have to ask yourself how important that extra $125 is worth to you. I have jacked one wagon before. Moron was doing the Defensive Mode Post Office BS. Were he pops defensive mode , than jumps out to shot gun you than retreats back to post office. Well when he decided to make his deliver, I gladly relieved him of his goods along with my posse. Don't think anyone is being an asshole if they try to take your wagon. All part of the game. Now if they keep attacking you after you drop off the wagon because they are salty....well that is a whole different story.

Official: No Red Dead Redemption 2 Story DLC Planned
Savage_Reaper replied to NewsBot's topic in Red Dead Redemption 2
Pretty much. I never seen anywhere guaranteed SP DLC anywhere. Yes, story mode was great and caused players to get all types of feels. I get that people loved the story and want more . But this game was a prequel to RDR1. So you know what happens next. They never said that no SP DLC wasn't happening. They said it wasn't a TOP priority currently. Now you can interpret that anyway you want, but at least it isn't a definitive no. That may change say when the PS5 drops. Who knows. -
Strange Grinding Addiction - What Is The End Game?
Savage_Reaper replied to PVPNOOB's topic in Red Dead Online
Yeah knuckleheads have been more plentiful. I don't know why R* thought it was a good idea to gift players with explosive bullets and what not. You don't HAVE to run in a posse. I only run with friends now when I do posse up. It can be cool if you find people on the same vibe as you , otherwise you may not like it. Just my 2 cents. And if you sell a set to the hippie chic, you will have plenty of loot to buy a posse. People will always mess with people in an open world game. It comes with the territory. It isn't the end of days or anything . As a solo player you just have to play a little bit smarter. When I run solo I like to make camps in places like Gaptooth Ridge, Coulter/Grizzles, Roanoke Ridge. They tend to be pretty clear of a lot of dip sh!ts. NEVER set up camp in the area of the Legendary Bounty drop off. I had a Lvl 38 attempt to kill me when I came out of Salvage before. I introduced him and his horse to Mr. Dynamite Arrow. He parlayed me than left the server. You might have people mess with you from time to time.....but nothing crazy. Like I said activity has picked up in the past week. I anticipated this because it has been way to quiet. I was doing a long delivery solo ($625 trader wagon) and a lvl 21 tried his best to kill me the whole way. Bless his heart. But that is only the 2nd time since the Summer Update this has happened. Sadly because it makes that long run more fun. At least for me. I don't know about other players, but the game keeps putting me in private lobbies 80% of the time I do a run. But have fun man and do activities you enjoy. Ranking up is a lot faster now than when I was a lvl 53. Good luck to you man and maybe you can find a buddy or two to run with. I personally can't stand the Collector role HOWEVER.........as a solo player it can be a good way for you to fly under the radar and level up/get $$$ super easy. IMO. -
Strange Grinding Addiction - What Is The End Game?

Well said. I feel the same. I pop in daily to run a wagon in/re stock camp and maybe knock out a few easy dailies. May stick around to help out a few low levels I roll with if they ask . My friend started a second character , so I have been helping him level that. Funny thing is I found myself going back to GTA because there is so much to do over there unlike here. Several of my friends are doing the same. We will all take turns running our wagons in, hunt for a bit than bounce over to GTA to work on our businesses. I think this is also good because I don't want too get burnt on one game. I hope it changes but I definitely understand where you are coming from. The 3 roles should have been more layered and complex. I hope future updates have more complex and difficult content. Right now I have to make the 5* Legendary challenging by doing things like only using a bow and turning auto aim off. Funny thing is that a lot of players are bored. So what do they do now? Go mess with other people . So I don't see a "griefing" problem, I see a lack of content problem. The first few weeks after update was real quiet. But I have noticed in the past week, activity has picked up a lot. Like people camping the Legendary Bounty drop off spawn to troll players. Don't get me wrong, I have fun chasing these scrubs off the server but it is a lame tactic they are using. -
I installed GTAO for the mask and have been playing it all weekend. I forgot how much stuff there was to do there. I popped into RDR to run a large goods wagon or if a friend needed help in a fight. But I really have enjoyed my time in GTA these past few days. I hope RDR gets to the point where there is so much to do as well. I like the mask, but than again I am a huge horror buff. I haven't really rocked hats in a while since Never Without One is kinda pointless and story mode has better hats. Don't know why they keep releasing this rodeo clown style hats.

I have been around since week 2 of the beta. So please do not generalize all players. You do not speak for all players , only yourself. Damn sure not me. I have been grinding this game before you even picked it up or thought about it. So don't act like I'm some Summer Update Noob. I'm almost Lvl 300. It wasn't easy to die if you had basic reading comprehension skills and figured out which cards would benefit you. YOU could choose to be a glass cannon or a DPS machine or a Defensive Build, etc. I did testing with a friend yesterday with the new cards, and he was able to eat 17 Springfield head shots . This is broken asf. Not going to put the build on here , but it is pretty ridiculous. I don't bother anyone , however I don't tuck tail and run either. "Griefers" never were a concern to me . I was always able to hunt, run missions , etc. I just use map awareness and common sense. All the new cards are thrash IMO. It has turned free roam PVP into the Sniper/Tonic/Tank Meta Olympics. No skill involved at all. And Showdown Series is not the same as a open world gun fight. Not even close. I know a lot of people hate gun fighting, I get it. But people like me love getting a text saying someone needs help. I love coming in with a posse and giving these tools a fight. One of the few things I enjoy in the current state of RDO. Biggest problem in the beta was people using varmit . Now you have to deal with people in Defensive shooting you with dynamite arrows. So changes may be welcomed for you but please do not act like you are the voice of the player base. I log on this game almost daily and do what I want without acting like a scared little rabbit or fear of some gun happy lvl 25. I have yet to have an experience in all the "dues" I have paid to take my ball and go home or pop Defensive. And this is coming from a player who wants to be left alone but has no problem reinforcing this point.

Strange Grinding Addiction - What Is The End Game?
Savage_Reaper replied to PVPNOOB's topic in Red Dead Online
I play this mainly to chill with my real life friends. That is the biggest reason I really play any online game. I personally grind because I will pick up a new game in the next few weeks and want to have at least $20k before I do. If you enjoy something, it isn't really a grind. I enjoy most of what this game offers outside of Collector. The way the game is throwing money and gold at you , leads me to believe next update will be pricey. Reason alone to grind. -
I do the same thing. Most times a supply mission will put you in your own server. I have no issue eating $20 by blowing the mission and hunt for the duration of the timer. My buddy and I filled up the camp in one of those missions last night. Until R* fixes the issue, this is what I do currently. And I am 282 and he was on his 2nd character which was in the 30s..........

Usually just to have a different top tier horse when the rest of the posse is using a Breton. Lol. Hate jumping on the wrong horse. I do like that it has 100% stamina and health too. So I don't mind using it if I have to but I prefer my Bretons anyday. If money is tight. I get Breton for sure first hands down. I have 2 Bretons , so I usually just rotate them daily. I'm not going to lie, it is hard to ride another horse that isn't a Breton. But I will always have a soft spot for my Tiger Striped Bay Mustang. So I do take her out several times a week. She has always been rock solid in EVERY situation I put her in. She even kicked a Grizzly one time. Lol.
-
Do it. I have 7 horses. People get hung up on one horse sometimes and don't really know what it out there. It is good to have variety. I have a Black Arabian that serves a purpose . Not my favorite but good to have around. Had 2 MFT and sold both. To me they act like a tweeker on bath salts. Pass. Have a Turk that post update has become a clumsy toddler sadly. Breton , Kladruber and Tiger Striped Bay Mustang are my daily drivers. Temperament is superior to me. I rather have a slower horse that I know will not buck me in a gun fight or around predators. I got in a gun fight the other night and my Breton flanked me the whole time. My MFT would have been in the next county once bullets started flying. Variety is good. Hell, I bought a $120 Shire last night just to have a big horse. Also with the high end saddles, it makes all horses good for the most part. Aside from health of course.

10/8/19 New Legendary Bounty, Bonuses and More
Savage_Reaper replied to Kean_1's topic in Red Dead Online
Main thing is they are tougher and you defintely can die from one shot if a sniper catches you. You can't go all Rambo because you will get smoked. FAST. This week the 5* requires you to bring in 3 targets. So if you are solo , you need a bounty wagon. I still would use a bounty wagon in a posse too because you do get chased . I farm the hell out of the 5* every week. If I was timing myself, I was getting $200+ plus a ton of XP. I always do the 5* Legendary when it is on the board. Easy money and Xp. BUT you are more squishy so you have to be more careful. As you go up in difficulty , you earn more but will die quicker if not careful. I'm glad they have this in the game. I love challenges be PVE or PVP. I encourage everyone to try to solo the 5* weekly. Most fun I have had in the game outside of gun fights in free roam. -

Savage_Reaper replied to Kean_1's topic in Red Dead Online
Not as hard as you would think. I have done it solo all the way to 4* last night. Will attempt 5* today . You just have to keep moving and don't let them snipe you. There is a ton of enemies all around , but it manageable. Considering how easy last weeks was, it is refreshing to see challenging PVE content. -
Lol. That is more than I do. I hear you. I MIGHT do a map once in a while if I am close to a set but, that is about it. I just pick up items that I stumble across or when a posse member tells me that it is literately 5 feet from me. Lol.

Getting grieffed as a trader.
Savage_Reaper replied to Shifter0351's question in Questions & Answers
It isn't griefing when the game tells you that you can rob the wagon. If you successfully take someone's wagon, you get supplies for your camp. I personally don't mind players trying to attempt a wagon theft. $625 is a nice haul . High risk, high reward. You could opt to do the $500 run with no issues. I have no problem with the way it currently is. But it definitely isn't griefing if they are playing the objective of trying to seize the goods for themselves. I do solo runs all the time with no issues. R* is trolling me by putting me in a private lobby 50% of the time. I hate that. I want to be challenged. I have had one posse attempt to jack my wagon. Awesome time. They failed but as soon as we delivered they rode off. Because the mission was over. Not griefing. -
Is It Just Me, Or Is Lvling BH Just A Real Grind?
Savage_Reaper replied to KylesDad7's topic in Red Dead Online
No wrong way to play. I personally want to have a certain amount of gold and money so that when I take a break to play other games,I am not in scramble mode when I return. I took a few months break before. This game isn't that much of a grind. It isn't like Destiny or something. I don't power grind but I know people that do. I don't concern myself with how others play the game. If you want to never leave Chapter 2 in story mode. Cool. If you aren't concerned with maxing out the 3 online roles.....Good for you. As long as you aren't running a glitch/cheat I careless what other players do. I have more important things to worry about in real life than to concern myself with the rants of a "Not Enough Content" tool. -
I can't prove it but I believe they did tweak the horses temperament on a few breeds. My MFT was the worst post Summer Update. EVERYTHING scared it. And it would take off all the time once I got off her. Turk became even more clumsy and didn't feel the same. My Black Arabian remained about the same. Just couldn't take her anywhere near any type of predator. Tiger Striped Bay Mustang remained the same. I have posse members who also noticed a lot of their horse acting funny too. So who knows. Maybe R* wanted everyone to spend money/gold to buy new horses by messing with the old meta horses. Or maybe my tin foil hat is on to tight. That could always be the case.

Is It Just Me, Or Is Lvling BH Just A Real Grind?
Savage_Reaper replied to KylesDad7's topic in Red Dead Online
Leveling now is extremely easy and fast. Doing the large (long distance) supply drop yields you 2500xp. If you are doing bounties, don't waste time on single or two stars. Only do the three star 4-6man bounties. Also get the Legendary Weekly bounty up to five stars and farm that daily until the next weekly reset. Also make sure you take at least 30mins to do five star Legendary. You get max payout and XP that way. I'm closing in on Lvl 300 and getting plenty of XP nightly to go up several levels. Leveling and making money/gold is beyond easy now. -
I don't think the horse is viewed as over rated. It is a good horse . Most people's issue with it is the temperament and size. I do like it's speed and handling but temperament is more important to me. I do own a Black Arabian and use it from time to time. I personally prefer a bigger horse. The LVL 20 Breton made last week's Legendary Bounty a breeze. No way I would take that Arabian around all of those wolves. Not a shot. Especially the 5* bounty. I do like using my Arabian in gun fights if I want to fight from my horse. Every horse I own has a purpose. My Lvl 20 Breton(best overall horse IMO) and Lvl 20 Kladruber are my daily drivers. I wouldn't waste money on the $150 and $550 variants . They are no were close to the LvL 20s. I mix it up from time to time with my Arabian and Tiger Striped Bay Mustang. I don't think people HATE on the Arabian , but I think people have an issue saying it is the best cause of speed and handling. Before this Summer Update I used the Tiger Striped Bay Mustang as my main. It has a honey badger mentality and I guess I can relate. Is she the fastest ? Hell no. But that temperament is solid gold for me. Use what works for you and who cares what others think. I sure as hell don't.
-
Most of the new cards are cheap IMO. Getting into gun fights used to be a game of skill . Now it is a game of who is running Slow and Steady, Fool Me Once, etc. All while pounding tonics. Weak sauce if you ask me. Time to kill is way out of hand . With certain builds you can tank 3 explosives. Sad. AND yes it sucks people can hide behind cards and tonics . How is shooting someone over 6 times in the head fun? Some people like to have open world gun fights. Now this and Showdown is a joke. I hope R* gives us a card free lobby.

Everything should be in your wagon once you call it back. My buddy flipped his and destroyed it. When he called a new one, everything was still there.
-
Bretons is my favorite horse by far. I actually bought both of the level 20 Bretons. It has one of the best temperaments in the game by far. Only my Tiger Stripped Bay Mustang is a close second. They make this weeks Legendary Bounty a breeze especially the 4 and 5 star.
-
The wagon is useful depending on how you use it. I use mine as a mobile storage locker in a way. It can hold 5 large carcasses and ton of pelts. If I'm out running a bounty mission and pop a couple of 3 star deer, I call the wagon. Than make it flee when done loading . I always try to keep 5 perfect animals on the wagon at all times. That way when Cripps tells me I'm low I'm all set. Sure it can be annoying fleeing your horse and calling the wagon, but it isn't that big of a deal. I was doing a stranger/rescue mission last night and popped a perfect cougar and buck. Called the wagon, threw them on and than sent it away . Easy.
-
If money is an issue, find a friend who has a large 100 goods delivery to make. You get $300+ just for helping. The long mission of course not the short one. I spent a day helping a few friends level up their trader , when I went to my camp I was able to buy all the wagons at once. I already had enough cash prior, but if you are flat broke.....making several supple runs is easy money. Also make sure you have the upgraded saddle bag from the Dora the Explorer (Collector) . You can hold more meat to sell to butcher.
