Well many disagree, there could be a DLC update or maybe just one of the several mysteries already known gets answered, I dunno still wouldnt sell it, but if you feel differently certainly do what you want with it.
-
WE dont know yet, but I would suggest keeping them until we do, I have a handful of stuff that doesnt seem to have a use yet, but I really think it will either later in a dlc or after someone discovers more clues regarding a few of the existing mysteries.

Which are you mostly playing right now?
lumper replied to Cokeyskunk's topic in Red Dead Redemption 2
Played the SP 3x all the way through Epilogue, the last time was great, but I got bored, I have 30k$ and everything I want, seen it all, done it all, etc.. I started playing online about a month ago, 4 weeks or so, at first I hated it, I even started a second character and still hated it, then I found a strategy and started grinding Now I play that pretty much exclusively until I finish this level grind Im on anyway then I am going to take a break, Im at level 51 in a little over a month. -
The Northern Empire is recruiting, more than a posse
lumper replied to lumper's topic in Posse Recruitment
I was just thinking he same thing. Thanks After many people here encouraged me a little, I tried hard to stay interested and kept learning, then I found a strategy that worked for me for 95% of the time, and with that I just earned $$ for things I needed, I caught nearly 4,000 fish, then I learned that fishing gives no xp and shifted to hunting to level up. I started one character and gave up, then I started over with a new character and even though I have a glitch with his shape and certain cloithes, I almost bailed on him too and just gave up twice, but I pushed forward and it all got better, I learned how to avoid people basically, lol. I was out fishing when I was recruited by these guys and it seemed appropriate to join a group of non toxic players who back each other up and have fun battles and what not. Now, I just learned that I can replay the story missions for xp, I had no idea, it took me to get to level 40 to learn that, lol but now that I found that out, I am going back and forth from hunting to missions, and just grinding for levels until I hit level 60, hopefully Tuesday night, so I have time to buy the explosive pamphlets before they end the offer. I almost never got started, now I am about to load up on explosive ammo and I already have everything else I want, horses, ability cards maxed out, all weapons, most clothes, etc.. so this will be the cherry on top after all my grinding, I know many were mad about the lowering level requirements but to me it was a perfectly timed reward and incentive to push really hard and get 20 levels done in a week, and if I managed to do that, I would be rewarded early with explosive ammo pamphlets so yeah, I have come a log way in a short time, it was 4 weeks ago I started. When I heard about it I was level 38 and wanted a Trotter so I pushed for a few hours and bought one, and was gonna call it a day until I did the math and figured it would be crazy to grind 20 levels in a week but I wanted to see if I could do it. I just might pull it off, I am cringing at the thought of going back in but I do want that ammo. -
WoW yeah I bet your kind of bored lol, sorry about that, but meh, your ready for the release for sure man. Nice going I just hit level 50 today after 4 days of hard grinding from level 38 lol I felt like I accomplished something doing it in 4 days, I now have 10 levels to go before Weds to take advantage of R* update. Each time I tell myself Ill just grind this out then ill just play pvp for a few days, I find, I need other things I didnt think of, like update a card, or pay the stable cost to get a new horse, etc.. so... ill be grinding day and night until Weds to try to get everything they released early for this week only.

So tell me how long did it take you, what are some of your stats like money earned, money spent, fish caught, animals skinned etc?? I only ask because your numbers must be pretty impressive at this point. Were you able to get there by daily grinding? did you use a few harmless glitches to help you out like the replay story missions or carcass duplicates etc..? ( no judgement) The level you have achieved is crazy high, I cant even imagine lol, Im on a super grind right now trying to take advantage of R* generosity and these lowered level requirements for explosive ammo pamphlets right now, when they announced it I was at level 38, today after 4 days I am at level 49, I am about to log in for today and do ,y daily grinding, but I am drinking my coffee and scanning the boards first. I saw your post and thought hmm thats crazy!! I wonder....... You must have about everything a player can have huh? What keeps you playing at this point?

Well, remember they were a year over the deadline releasing the single player game, they are now a year and 4 months over the deadline for the multiplayer, anything that they scrap and redo, is going to be a time commitment and we dont want that at this point, hopefully it is in a line of things to do in a basket on a desk at R* offices right now. Once they tweak the coding and see what needs tweaking it will get smoothed out, I do trust them. Always remember it is still beta.

Exactly, thats why I think even when I lose weight Im stuck with this glitch and why they need to fix it, because I cant do anything about it.
-
I found that it is very easy to go "overweight" and a litle overweight isn't bad underweight and overweight each affect the drain on health and stamina , one gets a boost and the other takes a hit. f you go out of your way to eat the canned foods like beans and peas etc.. and otherwise use your camp to refresh your cores, it works real fast if you upgrade to a lean too I think it is, one of the early upgrades, it makes it so you can re charge pretty quickly, and not need to eat. I found even just eating big game meat with thyme for the dead eye will put you overweight pretty quickly if you don't then do other stuff and not eat for a while, the one revealing thing R* said to me, was avoid candies and biscuits, do not eat any of these so I figured those probably had a faster stronger effect towards the "overweight" thing. Anyway, my guy is or isn't overweight I don't so much care about that, what I'm bothered by and struggling with is a few of my coats glitch out and are missing parts because of the shape of my guy, he is a litle pear shaped let's say lol. Now I did this on purpose, but I had no idea that it would be a problem, I figured the clothes would be all worked out for each body type, since you can make a pear shaped player but thats not the case. So hopefully they will sort it out as I cant change my character, even losing weight doesnt change the shape as you woudl expect in real life.

Why would someone you dont know send you a posse invite? I get them every time I am on, I dont accept them as I am usually doing something that I planned on doing like hunting to level up or fishing to make some cash for a purchase or both, combined with a litle pvp, I go back and forth to not get bored yet jeep earning no matter what I am doing. But it has me curious, like what do you usually do when someone invites you to their posse? Are they inviting me for a reason or just inviting everyone? I dont accept them because I just have no clue why they asked me, what they are planning to do and why they need me to do it. Im not against the idea of playing with others, but when it is someone I dont know I feel funny about accepting. What do you guys do?

So I wanted to update this. My character is still classified as over weight, but now the drain rate is 4%, so.... much better. Also, regarding a few of the coats that glitch out on a heavy shaped character, they said this. "you are facing issue with Red Dead Online where your clothes are not fitting properly. we would like to inform you that we are working on a fix to the issue as we speak and we personally request you to stay tuned to our newswire for future updates in this regards, https://www.rockstargames.com/newswire/ " Which I was excited to hear. hopefully they will figure it out, they went on to say, "we want to underline that Red Dead Online currently constitutes a Beta. As it is not the definitive version of the game's online modality, Meanwhile, we kindly request you to check the latest updates coming for the Beta version of the game and also there is a feedback link, where you can drop down your feedback and suggestions as well, which we would like to see from all the players to make it a better platform for players to play : " Pretty much what I was saying before in another thread, it is easy to forget it is a beta, and this company went way over budget and time bringing us the SP experience which I think everyone can agree was incredible, so I often remind myself of this fact and think, just be patient, give them all the time they need to get it right and then let's see what we have to complain about, if anything.

over weight boosts your health strains your stamina and under weight is the opposite.

Decaying playing base maybe a blessing in disguise
lumper replied to HuDawg's topic in Red Dead Online
Have you played the large showdown series pvp games? you get an awful lot of action in there. If you want to do single player style things like home robberies and train robberies then I understand, I too wish they would add these and more, BUT its Beta, they spent years, millions of dollars over budget, passed a deadline by a year making the game, they obviously still needed a lot more time and money to get it they way they wanted it. But I say that is to be expected with something this awesome, there is no mold for this in business they broke the mold and defied the standard limitations to bring us this incredible experience and I think they delivered, so we just need to give them the time they want, I say take all the time you need, because I love what they do when you leave them alone and let them do it. I really hope that they deliver in the end, I truly believe they will, so far they have given us what they have that is working, but I really believe that lots of amazing things are coming, just hang in there and keep leveling up. -
So, are you part of one of the other groups like Northern Empire, or Woodland Wolves, etc..? If not you might think about joining one, as they will definitely take action with you as it is one of the things they claim to do. I know if you were a member of the Northern Empire they claim if one of their members gets hassled by an organized group like you described, not just a small posse of griefers but an actual organized group doing that, that they will call through discord to get all their people on the server to help you, other than going to Rockstar with it, I think this is one of your other options. They are an xbox crew but the others might be ps4 clubs, I would look into it, at least then you migth have a decent sized group of commited players that dont like toxic abusive players there to help get your back. I dunno just a thought.

The Northern Empire is recruiting, more than a posse
lumper replied to lumper's topic in Posse Recruitment
yep. as we recruit new members, and they get their uniforms, we give them a code to the channel and they are then in the group. We have a big battle tomorrow so we are all out recruiting hard all week. -

Mostly discord, We send invites to the group Im not up to speed 100% on the whole game invite thing, I play on xbox and I know a little, but essentially you will see a note on discord and it will tell you whats up, either an S.O.S call from some of our players or a scheduled battle, and it will tell you who to invite or look for etc.. You add them as a friend or respond to their invite, I usually get invited as I am already on playing in a game, when they hit me up. Once a person has joined and grabbed a uniform, (which you dont have to wear other than when doing a group function) we send them a code for our discord channel and then you join that group, you will then be able to see all the various chats that are there and announcements etc Discord is a group chat app basically for gamer;s its free and easy to set up quickly, I never heard of it until the other day when they told me about it and then when I set it up I realized I had set it up for COD a few years ago and forgot, I have Call of Duty and RDR2 on mine. I just keep the app open on my laptop, a lot of people use the phone app so they can get updates, announcements and messages on the go, its up to the individual, but this gives you a base of operations to chat with members, ask questions, hear announcements, etc.. So if a person is recruited they need to set up discord and if they just cant for some reason they can use Instagram I believe, although I havent checked that out yet. Back to the uniform quickly, when I was recruiting it we met someone who wanted to join but didn't have the cash on hand to buy the clothes to make the uniform we all just hunted for him and had him at the butcher while we kept bringing him carcasses and pelts to get them what they needed. -
We have dozens of members and are looking to grow into the hundreds. you can see videos on youtube and stuff just search Northern Empire clan for RDR2O The important stuff: We recruit non toxic players, meaning players that aren't out griefing and harassing people in free roam, it is a milsim, (military simulator) so some discipline and taking/following orders is part of it, but it is all fun, not abusive type orders. We look out for each other and our allies so if you are out there being harassed by an organized group you can s.o.s. on discord and people will come to your aid. Within our group can be several posse's so you might roll with one group today and another Saturday but it us always with N.E. guys and gals. We also have battles with other groups, This Saturday 4/13 with another group for example. If you are interested in learning more or joining hit me back send me a note and Ill talk to you about it if you want to join and meet the criteria Ill be happy to get you started, you will need to buy a uniform, it isn't expensive but you do need it. Also, we try to recruit level 35 and above but there are always exceptions so if you are under 35 don't shy away if you are actually interested.

Nice!! Ive been running with a Springfield for its damage, then a pump shotgun, then either two volcanics, two sawed off's or one of each. I like how you run the repeater instead, thats pretty cool, I just feel naked without a shotgun for close range and having only two shells gives me a little anxiety, But Im sure I could live without the pump shotty since I have sawed off's I'm going to try this, might just take some getting used to.

I know it isnt fair for you guys who worked hard to get where you are, I started 3 or 4 weeks ago and got off to a slow start so for me, its a blessing but I can totally see why you would be pissed. I imagine it is the size of the player base and the % of people at higher levels vs the number of players that are much lower that is influencing this decision, but I really have no idea but I can see why you would be angry. I wanted a Trotter but knew it was going to be a long time before I could get one, like weeks probably, I woke up today, read the update and 3 hours later bought a Trotter. Im sure there area ton of people within reach of level 60 that will grab the explosive pamphlets, for me I would have to hit 16 more levels in 6 days so, I dunno, that's pretty extreme, I went from 38 to 44 in 3 days, that would leave me 4 levels short if I could keep that up for the next 6 days straight. Anyway I hope your angry with R* not the players, I only started recently but I play for hours every day and grind grind grind, never killed anyone except in missions or in a battle, once I am perfectly happy to grind away slow and steady and work my way up, thats why ive been doing it day in and out lately dealing with all the disconnects, griefers, bugs, core drain rates, clothing glitches, etc.. I grind until I cant stand it, then I go fishing until Im bored, and then I start grinding again.

Yeah of course man, I get it I just think its a subjective term all around thats all
-
I dont think you cant go by hours played, because what about a hard core gamer who only loaded the game last week or last month ? they obviously wont have the accumulated hours that others who have been playing for a while now will have, especially those who started playing the day it was available. I personally avoided it, I dont usually play multi player aspects of my games with a couple exceptions, this game was so awesome, I decided I had to have more so I woudl try it, but that was after resisting for a long time. Now I play maybe 4 to 8 hours a day and I am grinding as hard as I can, I hit level 45 today, after yesterdays update and offering I decided to go at it as hard as I can, I was at level 41 yesterday, I made 1500$ in that same time, so am I a hardcore gamer who got a late start or do my hours add up to a casual player? Like I said I dont think hours in can tell the whole story. Maybe levels, or cash earned, but then again the longer you have played the further along you will be and the more money you will have earned.so.... Now I do think the hard core players and those who have been playing since launch are the over all minority, I think a larger player base hasnt even found their way here yet or havent played enough to get very far, and this is what R* is catering too in hopes to bring them in and substantially increase the over all base of players, at least that how it seems to me.
-
Pretty sure at this point they arent adding anything to SP, for lots of reasons, but that game was finished on release and is as is, people have already finished it, etc.. so no I dont believe any new items will be put into Sp, Im guessing here of course, but it makes sense.
-
So I took the advice of a few people in here and I made a good cold weather outfit for one, and I decided to not eat just use camp to replenish my cores. It seems to have worked. At least for yesterday, for a long time I had no drain at all, My "player" tab said overweight but not cold and no drain, later the drain was -7.5% which is a huge improvement from 125% or 900% that I had the day before. So I will keep this up, use camp, eat very little if at all, I keep big game meat with thyme for just before a fight or confrontation but I try not to use it. I was able to grind last night and made $500 and went up 1.5 levels without the huge core drains. So although running around wont help, not eating and using camp seems like it might. R* has gotten a hold of me to tell me they are aware of both my concerns and asked me to look up my build number and let them know. Hopefully they fix it, but for now, this will work. Thanks

Holy sh*t thats a LOT of game time bro, nice work. I havent turned on another game since Xmas when I loaded Red Dead, I only started online 3 weeks ago or s, maybe 4. So I can appreciate level 298 that even sounds ridiculous, ooof thats a lot of grinding. So how did you not use the cougar glitch or the cop killing glitch, I mean everyone was doing it for a while, did you just avoid it all together or not know about it? Im just curious to those that never used any glitches, they must have been aware of them and everyone around them duplicating carcasses and stuff, did you just chose to avoid all those? Its hard to imagine players in there grinding and hearing about these things and not trying them. I think human nature is something for free is good and usually people will jump at opportunities to gain an advantage. Thats pretty amazing man.

All I know is I am going in to buy a Trotter and a Turk. Ive been grinding on a Shire, Chestnut tiny Arabian and my Thoroughbred waiting for the day I can buy a Trotter. That day, is today!! lol Im just glad to see an update honestly I dont care what people get or have, in time it wont matter at all, today it is an advantage if you have been around long enough to level up past level 90, but in time the number of high level players will continue to grow hopefully and you wont even remember a time when they allowed level 60 players access to explosives.
