  1. To be clear I am not assuming anything, I am just asking, the math suggests there is something off. I get it that managing my time better will definitely help me gain more xp than I have so far, no doubt. But will it yield triple or 4 x as much? I highly doubt it. I have joined a few times and done nothing but missions of every sort, gang hideouts, and then played fishing challenges, fools gold, etc.. and still never gone more than 1 level in a 4 or 5 hours session. So just looking at the time it took me, and then considering a better way, lets say twice as good, it will still take 300 hours of game play to get to level 200 and that doesnt seem realistic to me, but it is what it is. Im on the grind, lol, done fishing for cash, and now trying to find better more effective ways to level up. If you are over level 200 and didnt use any exploits then I applaud you, well done!! I just dont think I will be able to find a way to gain 1 level every 2 hours in game, if I could, that would be great.
  2. So, what is the deal with waiting longer in missions for more xp, I dont understand, why dos running the clock out give you more? I am still programmed by the single player to hurry up, but you are suggesting that if you take your time or drag your feet the is more of a benefit?
  3. I understand that I just meant they could have had a generic "yes" or "no" or "excuse me" etc.. just the very basics, but what was said about using rhe mic, kind of makes sense but not really. I mean in missions, a character asks you a question, my guy can only nod, cant say a word, regardless of the mic, so I just think, for those situations, it would be nice to have our guy/gal be able to say, Sure, or no thanks, or excuse me, etc..
  4. You climb 8 or 9 ranks a day?!? how?? I think I read that wrong, lol. I takes me 5 hours to climb one level lol, sure im alone, not in a posse, and mostly hunting, but I do clear any hideouts I come across, ive done all the available story missions, stranger missions, etc.. I can see maybe 2 ranks, if you have a posse and better strategy but 8 or 9? I dont see how that is possible at least not for me, I dunno what you do to achieve that but I sure would like too. Maybe give me an example of a a session that you climbed 8 levels, what exactly did you do?
  5. I can definitely see that, lol. Again for me to catch you, based on the first 25 levels ive done, I woudl need to play around 300 hours to get to level 110. So 60 days in a row of 5 hours a day or so, and again, it isnt realistic or possible, So I just wonder how people get to level 200 without finding an exploit, I just dont see it.
  6. Mind you, there is nothing wrong with killing cops to gain xp, lol Im just curious how many people actually put in the long hours to get there. Sounds like you put in a lot of time. For me I have put in around 73 hours to get to level 25. so x 10 to get to level 250 means I would need to play over 700 hours and that could take months, maybe a year, lol. Something def seems off.
  7. I look around at how many level 200 and higher players there are, do you think any of them did it the hard way? In my case it would take around 750 hours of play to get to level 200 based on how many hours it took me to get to level 25, extrapolating the data gives me like 750 hours or something like that,. At 4 or 5 hours per session we are talking about 150 5 hour sessions, has beta even been active for 150 days, ? Either I am the slowest xp getter ever or folks are playing 15 hours a day 7 days a week, or they used an exploit to gain some xp at some point.
  8. I would have, but I dont want to be a red dot, lol so I dont shoot folks for no reason, not even for riding into me and knocking all my stuff off my horse.
  9. I cant say yet that it is a noticeable amount of difference as I havent used them really, but what they say is this, (paraphrasing of course.) Paint it black for example, tier 1, with each shot you take your dead eye drains a little, tier 2, your dead eye drains a small amount, tier 3 your dead eye drains a tiny amount, etc.. So I assume it is just a better more exaggerated example of the effect whether it be dead eye drain, or damage inflicted etc.. Since I have done so little fighting up til now, I dont think I will ever really know for sure, I upgraded all of my cards to tier 3 already, the only one I havent activated is available at level 40 and I just hit 25 last night so..... This explains alot, including how so many people leveled up so quickly early on, sigh...Let me guess, everyone who did this got to keep all their ill gotten gains from this exploit? Nobody was penalized and lost their XP after the fact? I remember while playing my third play through and ignoring the Online Beta seeing these videos in Blackwater of people climbing the ladder to the roof, then killing cops by the dozens, and I didnt understand why, I wasn't impressed or interested in playing the online at that point, as I was still loving the single player and was on my third and most thorough play through. Hopefully as these are discovered the FEW people who couldn't help themselves and loaded up on Xp via an exploit were compelled to give it back, ie have it taken back by R*. But somehow I doubt that happened.
  10. That sounds how I would expect it to play.
  11. Thanks everyone, I made level 25 finally, feels like it took forever. I used almost only fishing, hunting, cleared 6 or 8 hideouts, got 3 or 4 treasure maps,, and tried the story missions, a couple stranger missions, maybe 5 or 6, and a pvp mode, etc, I didnt realize that fishing/hunting was a slow way to gain xp, I was under the impression it was a good way to go, but I see it is a safe way to go but slow. Now that I am nearly set up, I am going to shift my focus from fishing and hunting to playing the various missions and opportunities that are out there and gain the rest of my xp like that. I only need about 750$ more to be satisfied with my current loadout so money isnt going to be the focus much after that for a while. I upgraded all my cards to tier 3 already, I just have a few details to finalize.
  12. Do you think it was designed to be that way from the start or they just ran out of time and resources so decided to bail on it all together? I am talking about our online characters. I dont mean they would have much dialogue but I would expect at least the basics greetings, insults, standard thank yous, excuse me, etc.. yes and no, loll It just seems like they ran out of time to me. I feel like given enough time and resources that they migth have added some dialogue for us to rely on, similar to the single player side of things. I dunno, just my thought on it
  13. Im going to say no because 99.9999% I have no idea if the person is a male or female anyway. You can never tell anyway, Now, it occurred to me maybe you meant simply attractive female avatars in game and are those distracting, and I would say, so far not really but I can see that. especially a lady outlaw for many guy's can be very sexy so I guess I can understand how that might be distracting for a second, but all you have to do is remember the lady you are looking at, is most likely a 32 year old dude. I made my username nearly 20 years ago lumper because it was neither male or female, it was just lumper, I dont want to be judged one way or the other with interactions with strangers online.
  14. Thats great man, good memories too. Clint did many great movies, those 70's Any which way but loose films were great. Fun fact, you probably already know this, but in case ya dont, they call those films of Clints, the man with no name films or no name series, but more commonly Spaghetti Westerns they call them that because they were filmed in Italy where regulations were much more manageable and less expensive, many big directors and actors of the day Henry Fonda, Glen Ford, for example, usually preferred to film at least in part at Monument valley Utah where all those great tall stone things (for lack of a better word) are, Clints films never had those amazing views and vistas but you really dont mis them either, he had a way about him unlike most that came before him, You can find Clint in episodes of Maverick, Wanted Dead or Alive, Death Valley days and Tales from Wells Fargo, at least that I have seen him in, he was very young, some of those were 1959ish so he looks barely 20 in them as a cowboy, and you can still see that quality that he brought to the role of the outlaw very early on in his cameo or early opportunity roles he played.
  15. Sorry I mean to quote one of your other questions, lol but I wanted to explain how to equip them both at once. When you have the "off hand" holster, you can then carry two side arms, so when you use your weapon wheel instead of going to 11 o clock to grab a pistol or going to 1 o clock to get another pistol you can just select 12 o clock, and you will equip them both at once, one in each hand, and when you put them away, one goes in the holster, the other in the off hand holster.
  16. I would like to know two things. .01) definitively what is the FASTEST way to earn xp per hour in game? .02) is there a list where I can see how much xp you earn for each thing you can do? like per fish caught, or animal skinned or enemies killed etc...? I would just like to understand better how to earn xp. No matter how I do it I seem to make around 100$ per trip and they seem to take most of an in game day, I think I can do two trips in three days. I dont know how much xp it gives me exactly but I can tell you so far 7 trips and I still need 1200 xp points to level up one click, from 24 to 25, it seems like thats way too slow. I hate grinding for hours and hours to make what seems to amount to almost no progress. I have developed what I thought was a pretty efficient system but this cant be the best way, there must be a faster way. Any information and examples of things you have done that earn you more xp per hour/day in game would be greatly appreciated.
  17. LOL, no way man. Im at level 24 trying to make 25, been on for 4 hours, caught hundreds of fish, skinned dozens of animals, still need 1300 xp points, ugg no way could I stomach starting over, its not like the single player where you want to start over, I just want to get to a level where I can buy everything I enjoy using and feel god about and then cal it a day and just play. Im close, after level 25 I cant do much til around level 90 lol and I dont even know if Ill ever get that high.
  18. Wait, so when I log in and my horse is again level 1 or not even I can just go to a stable and it will revert to level 4 that I was at when I left the game the day before?
  19. I used to feel the same way then I watched Vertigo, and The man who knew to much, and North by Northwest, and I was 100% hooked on that era, none of those are westersn though, But Shane, was great, and Sgt York although a ww1 picture was still very much that country, western feel to it, anyway after those, I kind of just found JAmes Garner as MAverick or the Sheriff series he did, two movies, both really funny, and then I just started watching more. I love them now, cant get enough. Tales of Wells Fargo and Death Valley days are two of my favorites, Death Valley Days are true stories put to a 30 minute show so you get some history and entertainment. I too grew up in the 70's and watch Clint Eastwood, he is definitely a favorite, it took a lot longer to appreicate John Wayne. Watch The man who shot Liberty Valance, it is awesome! Lee Marvin another great actor, John Wayne, and Jimmy Stewart, very good film. John Wayne started believe it or not in the 30's, he was in a ton of movies, way too many to name or even count.
  20. Sweet, yes, there are literally TONS of westerns, I ove the golden era, 1940 through 1965 the actors like Jimmy Stewart, Audie Murphy, Gregory Peck, and the list goes on and on and on. Jack Ellam was a character acter who appeared in many many tv shows and movies from the 40's on til his death in the 70's I believe maybe the 80's he and George Kennedy and a host of others were always a familiar face and lent a comedic sense to most of these films and shows, I just love the genre now.
  21. So, I think all you have to do is load any old save, load up an older save from chapter 2, ride out to Rhodes and discover the clue, note it in the journal and you should be ok, I am guessing here but I do think it will work.
  22. Funny you should reply just now, I was just in Scarlett Meadows or whatever, the old battlefield near Braithwaie? and in the moddle of the battle filed was a dead tree with a Horned owl on it.
  23. Hmm not me, I was able to pick lots of Currant and Thyme on my way and I drifted a lot, I just stayed near the cliff edge when I could.
  24. Yep
  25. Starting a fight and then ending up wanted for killing a guy is quite normal, you have to learn to co exist with people, Sure sometimes you accidentally bump into a guy and it starts a chain reaction that ends up with you being wanted, but misunderstandings happened and happen all the time. The thing is you have to run, and avoid, more than just "stand your ground" and fight over every detail. There is an old saying, you have to chose your battles, so chose them wisely. I do agree with you however. For example, you accidentally bump someone, and it escalates, you should be able to de-esclate things just as easily, I think npc's react a little too violently considering how easily you can get a wanted level, it does seem a bit skewed at times. There could be more fist fighting to settle disputes and less random shootings that end bad for you. It stinks to rush into town to get the mail or something and all of a sudden you have to bail over some silly nonsense, it gets frustrating at times and does seem a bit skewed.
