Missing out on missions....

Yes, there are many side missions, stranger missions, item quests and other things which are time sensitive, and many which require a number of pre requisites to be done first.

It is very complex and very difficult to hit them all.  I have the guide which gives all this info break down, and since I too don't want to miss stuff, I've been trying to do all the missions - but even then I think I've missed a couple of time sensitive stranger missions and quests.  I expect it is virtually impossible to hit everything in this game within a single play through.  I expect it's been designed to offer some new things for multiple plays, or to allow two different players to have slightly different experiences.

Thanks for the insight, everyone.    One more question, if I may, that canoe we buy via the ledger... can it be lost?

'Cause I hit on island in the middle of the river, shortly after hitting chapter 3 (where you find the tricorn) and my canoe disappeared.

They have always been helpful in the past.  They also don't always include everything in the game either.  I usually buy them after I played through at least once, pending on how long that takes.

For $16, I think I'll just get it. I've already put 24 hours into the game and I'm not even at 50% completion. I'm sure I'll be playing through a second time too.

I have 78 hours sunk into the game so far and I believe I am 54% complete haha

It's easy to get distracted, isn't it? I still haven't touched a lot of the side things (treasure hunting, challenges, etc). There's so much to explore.

Unbelievably simple. Spend a few hours trying to get a perfect cougar pelt here or a few hours trying to complete a scavenger or gambler challenger there. It is slightly overwhelming in the things that you can do. I literally boot up the game, jump in a party chat with my friends and say "I have no idea what I want to tackle right now" haha. Not to mention when you just get swept up in the gorgeous scenery or come across a random event, or stranger mission or legendary animal. The best game I have ever played honestly.

Hell, I've spent a few hours stacking bodies already.

Edit: Can I get a job @BropolloCreed79? I'm a great body stacker!!!

(this got my stamina up to like 6-7 before the game really started)

You've been a busy little outlaw psychotic :)

I'd think it nice if the game counted stats for you - like numbers killed, how, with what weapons etc.

When I notice I'm in a part of a mission where I'm free to roam and won't have bounty hunters shooting at me, I take the time to send a message (and loot). These were before I got that camera, so now I have a few selfies with the stacks lol

I was unimpressed when I checked the xbox stats. It only shows time played, story completion, total completion, and # of gold medals. I would love to know the body count!

Not sure which missions you mean exactly, but I had a few that I would set as a waypoint, but by the time I got there, it was gone.  After I died near one, it changed from day to night and the mission was back.  It would seem some of them can only be picked up during a certain time of day.  I'm still missing a couple in chapter 6 that I never even saw.  There are about half a dozen time sensitive missions, where you have to complete them during a certain chapter, but if you keep checking the camp on your map, you should have no trouble spotting them.  It'll be one of like 3 symbols that you don't normally see on the map, and they're all in like chapters 2-4.
