CrabApples
This is something I have not seen mentioned yet on here. So in RDR1, there was a nice physical attribute to the game that when you shot someone, they didn't quickly fall over. They stumbled a bit. The same for GTA 4 as well I believe. In GTA V however, they toned down the physics and did away with small details like this. I would like to think that they will no continue with this. Do you think realistic shooting will be a part of RDR2 or will it be the same as GTA V?
bluntTR4P
Yeah that is one of the biggest complaints of GTA V was the physics, or lack there of. I am hoping they fix this issue. I never understood why they took them away to begin with. You would think they would improve them. Edited June 20, 2017 by bluntTR4P
LinXX
If it isn't, you know it will be one of the first things people complain about. I just hope to GOD they do not mess up the red eye. If they do that, I will be very sad.

As for the shooting all around, I would imagine they step up their game this time since a vast majority of the hardcore GTA fans were upset with how they did the physics. ZLion
Yeah you can't really base anything on "rumors" right now. Most people are just pulling things out their behinds. Rockstar knows not to let anything slip out. They keep things locked up pretty tight.

The other part of me thinks we will just be getting more of GTA V logic physics.

There was a thread on it I think on the GTA forums. I feel like they cheaped out with that and it was such a silly think not to consider being a good focal point in the game.
Looney Dan
Part of what makes a shooter game of any kind great is not how the guns work or function, but how the bullet is received. Don't you dare screw us over Rockstar, don't you do it. I would be so disappointed in the company if they don't use logical physics.

I know a lot of people who play shooters for that very reason. It is part of the visual. This is probably why so many people tried saying video games promote violence but it is the violence in virtual realty that helps me cope with not lashing out sometimes.
Cheyenne Dog Soldier
Hopefully they get it right. I've never played GTA, but from the YouTube videos I have watched of it I gathered one major consistent thing, the vast majority (ok maybe not that, but at least 98% ha) that play that game are stoned teenagers with Doritos crumbs in their chairs. Seriously, they are a living de-evolution of the human race. So Rockstar probably rightly calculated that no one would care if physics went backwards, as long as you can crash cars and jump off bridges and die you have them entertained like toddlers and flashy things. However RDR fans seem a little more demanding and so hopefully they step it back up in all departments.
Jamesie
I really did love the animations and reactions when shooting in RDR (ragdoll physics) so I hope they bring that back and just make it as enjoyable (if not more). As least not all is lost with GTA V - see this mod (which I haven't tried myself yet) but I plan on trying when I feel up to screwing around with mods again:
ZLion
Yeah the shooting in RDR in terms of taking hits what great, much better than whatever they did in GTA V. Not sure why they got away from that.

Glopez
Like I said before guys, it should be better. I was talking about this a few weeks back with a friend cause it seemed a lot of what was great in RDR and GTA 4 seemingly got lost in GTA 5 and covered up in a way they almost hoped we wouldn't notice. Given the number of delays and the years this game has been in development, it won't just be better it will be greatly improved. I was talking to a friend who knows someone who develops for EA. He said that a lot of times, devs listen to their fan base and try to overdeliver. Sometimes it ends up backfiring but most of the time what they do improve is greatly enjoyed. Example: "The GTA 5 map will be bigger than RDR and GTA 4 combined!!" Actuality - most of it is desert or boring underwater.

Perhaps the devs wanted to do one thing but I'm pretty sure the publisher had other ideas...
VICKSUN
I can't see EA overdelivering on anything. LOL I mean think of how horrible Madden alone has gotten over the years. If anything, they listen to their fans by doing the opposite of what they want.

Sure, at its core... Most of their games have been really enjoyable but a lot of the demands we have asked for haven't been answered.
