Purple Cactus
Let's compile some music videos from Youtube that are great for gaming or just general task work. I like anything like this mix below. I think the mellow music is great for playing just about any game and really good for when I am working on computer end stuff. Add some songs or mixes you enjoy! GatoNegro
Sometimes Dubstep works well for this. Specially with shooter games so I will contribute this mix:
DaveSpeek
Gotta love that they used DBZ for the stills. Vegeta is such an awesome character.

elmZ
Depends on the games really but these usually work well. I turn them down so I hear them as background music:
NicNak
I've been playing a lot of Rocket League lately with my boyfriend and I really like the new soundtrack they added this month. May as well post that
X S
One of my favorite games of all time is Riven, a creepy story-driven puzzle game from the 90's. I owned the game on PS1, but I'll never for get the eerie soundtrack.
Alborghetti
This is perfect for studying or doing anything that requires concentration, it's good for sleeping too. I recommend TLOU's entire soundtrack if you want soothing music and this in particular is my favorite. For those of you who don't remember this plays when you stop at the apartments with Ellie for the night and it starts raining. Oh, and you may like this too: rainymood.com I usually play both at the same time. And is this thread about vg music in general or just music to listen to while playing/doing something? Well doesn't matter because what I'm about to present is also good for concentration, relaxing and all that. Here are some songs by Low Roar, a band I met through Death Stranding's trailer. The first plays during the E3 2016 trailer and it's the most famous one from them. it may not be that calm like the others from them but give it a try: This one plays in the second trailer, that was displayed during the VGA 2016 if I recall correctly: This is my favorite from the album: There is a lot more like "Phantoms" and "Vampire in my Fridge" but these 3 are good to get started. Here's the album btw: On the same Kojima vibe, there is this one too which was used in some Metal Gear V trailer. It's pretty catchy. Alright I'll stop the flood now.

These kinds of songs are the ones I really enjoy when I am working on some drawings. I can't play games to them because they relax me too much but I still enjoy them. Nice to see someone else who appreciates simple poetic music.

May as well post that Nearly 2 years late on this reply, just had to say I love the albums they picked for the game. I have all of them on my computer, including the newer ones. They got some real bangers on that game.
Kormath
i don't use music when i game usually, i'd rather hear the game, and 99% of the time i have headphones plugged into my controller so my aging ears can hear the fine sounds like the deer walking in the brush in my hunting game, or other quiet noises like that. But there are some games where it doesn't matter, and for those on the rare occasion i play them i'll turn on some EDM. it makes the perfect background music. Fisher is one of my favorites, Armin van Buren is another.
