RON
@#SadCowboy mentioned this in a thread and I wanted to actually talk more on this without derailing that thread. So he mentioned having it be similar to GTA but more like Futurama where the city is there but it is far into the future. I am not big on games like this normally because it has been done so many times, BUT if you can have it work like GTA... I think it would become an instant classic! mizTik
Well... I think Rockstar is more about being current or going to the past so I just can't see them doing something like this ever but if they did, I am not sure I would like it. It would feel too cartooney. Think about what they have done already. They use realistic stories in their games. Having robots and aliens would just not be something I think many people would like. Or maybe that is just me. Jamesie
I'd actually quite enjoy it if Rockstar did this in a more realistic manner than what other developers have done in the past. Tubes that you can travel through, flying cars, etc. could make for quite an interesting game. Think Blade Runner, The Fifth Element, etc.
Alborghetti
Well, we have Cyberpunk 2077 coming eventually if you want an immersive, futuristic experience. It's made by the same guys who made The Witcher 3.
Skrylaxx
Like GTA... But with flying cars and aliens? That sounds like it would be hilarious! Imagine picking up a robot prostitute! LOL I don't think it will ever happy but it is funny to think about.
X S
I would only accept this premise if it was based on a fictional noir setting, much like Blade Runner. CyberPunk is a bit like this.

Reyes
I like playing with real history. I am not a big fan of futuristic games so they can just keep this one in their back pocket. I likely wouldn't play it. Just not my kind of game.

Possibly something they could offer would be a game mode that adds these elements in with a separate stand-alone expansion of some sort - I'm thinking about Far Cry: Blood Dragon as an example, it didn't take itself too seriously (if at all), it was super funny, a lot of fun and also pretty cheap to pick up. ChrisCr0ss
Yeaaaa... no. Nope. Na uh. No thanks. Not happening. Me no Enlglace. I am with Reyes. The future has been over done. I would much rather them do another LA Noire or go back further in time.
CowBoii
I enjoy a good futuristic game with the element of reality but I can't see Rockstar doing this kind of game well. I would prefer if they don't.

I can see that but they have never really tried to know where they could possibly stand on the idea. To me, something futuristic could work very well but they would have to know how to keep their own feel while being in a "fantasy" world. RDR and GTA are both fantasy worlds after-all. Game consoles and gaming in general is growing a lot faster than it used to so just a few years time, and base specs can be higher. They don't jump as fast as computers but still a lot faster than in the 90's and even early 2000's.

If they ever did decide to do it, you are saying you wouldn't be curious enough to play it? I don't know many people who think this idea could work but most of them would happily give it a go.
