AussieButcher
Does anyone know why Rockstar aren't releasing the game on PC too? If you look at sales for GTA V they do extremely well on PC, the game ranks highly in Steam sales all the time. PLUS people have been requesting a PC version for Red Dead Redemption 1 since that came out so long ago. Why Rockstar won't you give us PC gamers a chance??? MajorPain
If they release it on PC later then they can sell more copies... people who have both a console and PC might buy two copies. Also, they might release it on PC later with some enhancements. Basically exactly what they've done with Grand Theft Auto V.
Hazed0NE
They likely will but it will be a year after the console release like GTAV was. They basically beef up the game so it can be fully enjoyed on PC. I hate to say it, but consoles have nothing on PC gaming, even in this day and age. After playing GTAV on Xbox ONE and then on PC... huge difference for me!
ChrisCr0ss
They want money so yeah there will be one but no one knows when. Could come 3 months after the release or may take over a year. You really never know. I only plan on getting it on PC is the multiplayer is banging.
Aderyn
It's important to remember that the GTA franchise has a long history on PC, so 5 coming to that platform was sort of expected. However, no Red Dead game has ever graced the PC before, and I'm not sure RDR2 will be where Rockstar changes that policy, considering what small percentage of GTA 5's playerbase resides on the PC. This is something that is worrying me as well. I am mainly on PC now. I didn't bother with a new system. I don't want to have to buy a system just to play it. It would seem that the lack of coding may be an issue here... Since they have no past coding for PC with RDR, they will be starting from scratch... maybe that is the reason for this delay? If they cared so much about the money, they would have put the first one on PC. It isn't about money it is about investing. Not a lot of people play these kinds of games on PC. GTA is like the only one. I don't know. I am hoping for it... but the more I read the more doubts I get.

When you have a console game and want to work it into PC format it takes more time. Also, games that sell on Steam for example don't go on sale often and still make sales. Look at Black Ops II. It is still selling on there at full price how many years later?

The point I was making is that the community itself on the PC side of gaming is not keen on these kinds of games. GTA is different for a lot of reasons.

Just was making a point of them making more money if they DO go on PC today.
GatoNegro
I agree about it being different today. There are more PC gamers today than there were just in 2012. Yes, console gaming still leads but that is because of cost and convenience. It takes a lot more money to have a solid gaming PC built than to just buy a console. They will more than likely release it on PC just for the online. If they have a massive online community like GTA V did and still does, it will be in their interest. Specially if they allow creator mods and stuff which can be loads of fun!

For one that can run games like Witcher, we are talking $1200+ and that is the cheaper end ones. Graphics cards get very pricey!

Okay this I can see just for the fact that the online community would thrive being behind creative options but that is a big fat IF... If they decide to have this kind of online play and if they allow the creative options.

GatoNegro
Well yeah PC builds can be pricey but in comparison to a console, you can get more out of PC in terms of gaming for not much over the cost. Not comparing to the Switch but PS4 and X1.
riptide87
You can easily get a solid gaming PC for $500 if you know what you are doing. Also... I was thinking it over more and it would be silly for them to not get this game on PC. If they can use a similar model to GTA V it can be converted over without much time spending on it as a separate project.

A lot of what you would have to buy would need to be refurbished or used though. And the conversion thing is not that simple. Trust me. If it was, they would be cranking out a lot more PC games. DiamondDave
I am shocked this is such a debated topic. I had no idea people even cared about Rockstar games being on PC. I don't play on computers only consoles so it don't bother me either way really.
