JLSTOKEY Posted May 19, 2019 Posted May 19, 2019 (edited) What PSN Tech suggested above in my post seemed to work for me so far. I was able to play solo and online each for about an hour with now issues at all! The longest part of the whole process is installing off the two disc...takes for ever. All said and done about 2 hours. Update 5/19. Played for 4 more hours today and with zero crashes. Edited May 19, 2019 by JLSTOKEY Update 1
NONO Posted May 19, 2019 Posted May 19, 2019 (edited) Okay i have finished talking with the helping desk. Here is what they have provided me with: Quote Okay, now please go to “Settings” on your console. Select “Network”. Choose “Set up Internet Connection”. Now choose your connection, “Use Wi-Fi” or “Use Lan Cable”. Go to “Custom”. Select your Wi-Fi Network. Skip this step if you want to connect to “Lan Cable”. In the “IP Address Settings” select “Automatic”. In the “DHCP Host Name” screen select “Do Not Specify”. In the “DNS Settings” screen select “Manual”. Here it will ask you to enter primary DNS addresses and secondary DNS addresses, you can enter 8.8.8.8 as primary DNS and 8.8.4.4 as secondary DNS. Once done, please tap on “Next". Please make change on MTU as well. Choose “Manual” for MTU settings. Here you can enter 1473 Choose “Do Not Use” on Proxy server screen. Now you should see “Internet settings updated” message. After this, you need to clear your PS4 cache even if you have done it before. Please Fully shut down your console. Please remove power source from the console. After 3 minutes of the console being shut down, restart the console. It would be more helpful if you give me full instruction rather, but i still appreciate you being kind Okay, I will do that. After that please Launch Red Dead Redemption 2. When launching RDR2, wait until a black screen appears after the initial splash art has disappeared, and hold down L1+R1 throughout the opening scenes. then its all done? Yes, it will clear your console's cache, after that please go Online and see if the issue is resolved. Okay thank you, I appreciate you effort. May i ask if i can share you instruction with people in the game forum with the same problem? As like I said, most of the players issue resolved by software updates. Some player's issue resolved by this steps( changing DNS), other resolved by changing ports on their router configuration page. So can i share? including your last message Yes, have you tried this steps? Nope but i am going to try it wihin an hour. i really appeciate your help anyways. hope you have a good weekend. Sorry, it might be hard to read, but i am not really familiar with computer or internet, so this is my best. Anyways, hope it resolves someone's problem including mine. Miltonastic Posted May 19, 2019 Posted May 19, 2019 Has anyone looked into these disconnects happening when other players are exploiting the pike glitch?
raphmateus Posted May 19, 2019 Posted May 19, 2019 For me, between the crashes and disconnection from servers... it has been unplayable. The disconnection has been something I have for a long time... But I am currently in China so that is maybe causing it. But the blue screen crashes have only been in RDRO and only these past couple of days. What is funny is that it is highly inconsistent, I managed to get 30 minutes of gameplay to suddenly be kicked out during a mission (super annoying). Other times I manage to be in-game like 3-5 minutes. Regarding the pike glitch, most people are doing it, and since it's a simple glitch I don't think it is affecting anything because it is based on a simple rdr mechanic. The stable glitch, however, is a mess and it is breaking lobbies.
Kean_1 Posted May 19, 2019 Posted May 19, 2019 Again, I would remind folks to please report this and any issues they are having to R* Support. For every one person who does report an issue, I'll wager there are dozens that don't. The best way to draw attention to these problems is to report them to R* directly via their Support page as linked in previous response(s) 1
Moosh89 Posted May 19, 2019 Author Posted May 19, 2019 So, here's an interesting thing to note... I got the same schpeel from Rockstar advising me to initialize my PS4 including reinstalling system software. Yeah, no thanks. BUT, I totally forgot my setup is probably vastly different from everyone else's. I play the digital copy which is actually installed and running off of my external hard drive, NOT my internal HDD. Never mind the constant crashing, since yesterday evening I can't get any missions or stranger missions to work either so I'm stuck just riding around until my next crash lol. Yes I reported that too.

Yes I reported that too. I bought a Samsung Evo SSD external drive a couple days ago and moved all of my games to it before initializing and reinstalling the system software. I have yet to play RDO since. I will try today. I fixed the save file in Minecraft that gave my son the same code. It was occurring every time he went through a portal so I destroyed the portal, built a new one and it now works. I just have to see if RDO works without a crash now.
Antonia Posted May 19, 2019 Posted May 19, 2019 I am experiencing crazy things in the game. I go to stranger missions game disconnects me. I quick join sessions i play normaly. I then go to strangers again and disconnects me. Some strangers aren't even there. Some have their accept buttons greyed out. People vanishings all of a sudden. When i'm seeing these things i know that after some mins game will disconnect me. And i'm right as it does. what's goin on lol
NONO Posted May 20, 2019 Posted May 20, 2019 First of all thank you Mr. Kean_1 for editing my sloppy post. Many kind souls in internet! I have tried what Rockstar helping team advised me to do (see above) with such confidence, and it does no change. I feel kinda stupid that I somewhat believe that they could be right. I am sure it is not my console problem (i recently purchased it and without issue with other games) and I am sure that it is not a network problem (i am currently in korea, not the bad one, the land of super fast internet) After writing this post, I am going to report the result as the rockstar guy indirectly asked me to do (i omitted the last part of the chat) If I don't, I'm afraid that it would make them think that their solution actually works for at least few people (and raises that level of ego and confidence), and I agree that more people reporting should help resolving this issue.

No problem regarding the edit. As far as the troubleshooting steps, it's all part of the process when addressing issues that are not recognized as being "known" problems. If you were describing an issue to them that they know about and have been told their devs are addressing, you would likely get a response along those lines. This is why I tell people to keep reporting glitches / bugs so R* knows they are not isolated instances. btw, I played RDO for the first time since I initialized and reinstalled the system software back on my PS4 last Friday. I played for about 1 hour and 45 minutes with encountering this blue-screen error. My problem may be behind me now. What exactly fixed it in my case, we may never know. 1
Moosh89 Posted May 20, 2019 Author Posted May 20, 2019 Same, Kean, I never did anything differently yet and I got a full 2 hours in without a crash 1
Markymark89 Posted May 20, 2019 Posted May 20, 2019 I spent all day doing a full re-initializing of my system installing software and downloading and installing rdr2 and started up RDO, within 2 minutes had the crash. What the hell is going on

What the hell is going on I did too and whether that what was what fixed it, the transfer of the game onto my new external SSD, a glitch that worked itself out or something R* did while trying to address the other strange things that have been happening in sessions lately, I have no idea. I did mention the oddities with dead animals, etc. while they were discussing my blue screen crash with me and i was told that they were aware of those issues and have apparently fixed them. As for the error code, still no answer but then again, I don't seem to be having the issue anymore. I'd urge you to open a trouble ticket if you haven't already.
Juddsie Posted May 21, 2019 Posted May 21, 2019 Im having issues with the new update as well. I can play online for half hour or less then the error code and have to reboot game again Before this update (1.09) i would just get disconnected from Rockstar servers not the whole game crashing. Hopefully a fix soon.
Antonia Posted May 21, 2019 Posted May 21, 2019 After the weekend things seemed to be better here. Managed to play 2 hours without disconnections or crashes. Rotating between quick joins, stranger missions, free roam, farming herbs, pelts, interacting with vendors and all this stuff worked fine making me believe that R*'s servers were overloaded due to ps4 promotion and weekend at the same time? Who knows? We'll see till the end of the week and then weekend as well.
The_Liquor Posted May 21, 2019 Posted May 21, 2019 I haven’t done anything, yet last night I played for a couple hours without a disconnect... maybe they fixed whatever it was?
McLawDiz Posted May 21, 2019 Posted May 21, 2019 I have not had a single crash on my PS4 after DMZ`ing my PS4 ip on my router settings.. 1

I would caution the DMZ for your PS4 if you don't only allow specific IP and port from the outside in. If you follow some of the forums and R* recommendations there opens a whole lot of potential for a hack into your PS4 directly. NAT is designed for a reason. I have been a network engineer for over 25 years and would never follow that recommendation. Be careful and good luck. 3

I knew there would be some kind of risk by doing it, but if i turn it off, it will throw me off.. I have been trying to solve it by almost everything.. Diddent work until i did the dmz thing.. I dont think its R* ´s focus.. unfortunatly. 1
DNMNetTech Posted May 21, 2019 Posted May 21, 2019 Since R* is using Akamai content delivery servers for edge services, many of the issues may not be R* servers. R* servers deliver content to the edge servers so the users game play response times are faster than going directly to R* servers. This is supposed to make mission and online story loading faster, downloads and patches faster without putting to much pressure on the R* servers. I have noticed my disconnects are directly related to the Akamai server i Was connected to. Since my connection was connecting to different edge servers every time I load, it became apparent that not all connections would have the same disconnect. That is why I am able at times to play all night with no issues while other nights disconnects are a night mare.
Moosh89 Posted May 21, 2019 Author Posted May 21, 2019 I haven't done anything to my game or system since applying update 1.09 last week, and the crashes stopped by Sunday. Today after several hours of playing I finally had my first crash since Saturday evening. I'm going to try clearing my game cache, but that's it.
Markymark89 Posted May 22, 2019 Posted May 22, 2019 Hey guys. An update on my situation. My main system is a PS4 pro God of war edition with a Samsung Evo SSD, I have cleared the cache, re-initialized and reinstalled system software. Installed game multiple times and can confirm nothing fixed the game crashing. HOWEVER, this is my.main sustem, I also have a standard PS4 uncharted edition (old model, not pro or slim) and can confirm that RDO has not crashed after at least 3 hours of play. I'm starting to think the issue is localised only to pro models or SSD models.
Kean_1 Posted May 22, 2019 Posted May 22, 2019 12 minutes ago, Markymark89 said: I'm starting to think the issue is localised only to pro models or SSD models. Nope. Mine is a standard edition PS4 and was occurring just before I bought my SSD just the other day (running off the internal, stock HDD.

Let them know what's happening and that it started occurring after the last title update. In my conversation with them, they didn't seem aware of this as being an issue shared by others. ......or at least beyond the isolated few.
Kean_1 Posted May 23, 2019 Posted May 23, 2019 Ok..... 45 minutes into my gamin session tonight and I got the error code again. My case is still open so I reported it again to Support. CRAP!!!!

Juddsie Posted May 23, 2019 Posted May 23, 2019 I sometimes feel its down to where you are in the world.
Antonia Posted May 23, 2019 Posted May 23, 2019 maybe we say our country along with our problems here so we can compare? also people who do not have the problems also post their country here?
