Treasure Maps - Luck / Unluck?

I have since online begun, completed roughly 80 Gang Hideouts, 40 Ambushes, and so on.. 

yet, i have never been lucky enough to loot a corpse with a treasure map. 

Am i just TOTALY unlucky, or do i do it wrong?

I have seen people get like.. 1-3 maps within a day?

Any tips? 🙌

You've been pretty unlucky I'd say although my numbers still aren't great. I've done 197 hideouts and have picked up about 20 treasure maps I think (if I'm correctly discounting the number received from ranking up). Probably about a third of the hideouts I've done have been co-op so maps may have been picked up by another player. I've had times where I've picked up several within a week but I'm currently on a streak of not having found one for ages.

Looting every body you can seems to be the only real tip but then I've had hideouts where I've cocked up and died and had most of the bodies despawn and still picked up a map off the last body I looted. So its all luck I think but to give yourself the absolute best chance (which still seems to be tiny), clear the hideouts solo and take the time to loot all the bodies available. Conventional wisdom was to not kill the leader until you loot all the bodies so they don't despawn but I'm not sure that's an issue since the update last week.

ive been doing every gang hideout solo and have not had a treasure map in ages i thought it might be a glitch or something but looks like its across the board.

I seem to have had better luck with finding maps since the latest update. Not sure if it's a coincidence or if the update increased the drop rate.

I  reached lvl. 110 yesterday. Collected my treasurebox all time low $45 😪 Took me ~ 32.000 xp!!! May be they lowered the  amount after the update?  In all my lvls I received, as unlucky looter, two treasure maps😥

LOL.. Was playing last night, and i got 2 Gang Hideouts, both dropped Treasure maps.. So, maybe R* saw my post and felt bad? 😂

I had same problem not so long ago. Till lvl 100 i had only ONE map from hideout's. Did something like 80 then.   For the last 2 weeks tho i get a map almost every day and im only doing max 4 hideouts per day. 

I even got a map from NPC ambush.      The system works strange.

I use to get them like crazy, since the update i only found one in a gang hideout

I was getting them pretty often then it stopped, I havent gotten one other than every 5 ranks in a LONG time, like 20 hideouts without a map at least, I was thinking about this today, I looted over a hundred bodies today and didnt get one item I can pawn or a map, I just wanted to finish my daily challenges by selling a few items to pawn.

So I wonder if they nerfed the maps since they added the multiplier, I dont know but my experience has been no maps except for every 5 ranks.

Start/Options > Progression > Awards > Free Roam > you should find an award that lists how many hideouts you've done

I'm only level fifteen with a few hours of play, but I've pulled three treasure maps. 

Unfortunately, two of the three completely disappeared from my inventory after a blue screen crash.
