Public Enemy - where did it go?

New and first post - Hello folks! Hope you are doing well?

I've tried looking for this in the forums here and I apologize if this has been already answered somewhere. But with the lack of searching capabilities I find it hard to navigate the forums. I stumbled upon the Red Dead Online forum for example. Had to bookmark it because I have no idea where it is nested from the Forums Homepage.

As the title hints at, where did Public Enemy go? Have they removed it from the game? I think this is the best game type introduced to any FPS, and now I can't play it. Is it part of a weekly rotation which is now replaced by the Sport of Kings? If so, BOOOOO!

Have not played any Rockstar games. Trying to understand how they operate. Trust me I've been doing the Googling, but can't find my information other than the game type was introduced via update recently. Thanks for any feedback on this.

I thought so also, but it isn’t showing up under my menu for some reason?  Can anyone confirm it working for them?

I believe that was one of the games I ended up playing the other day when I was trying to complete the daily challenge of killing 3 players with a shotgun in the showdown(regular, not large or small) series.

Unfortunately the Public Enemy was last weeks featured Showdown (Reason why it show up on the Main menu). This week is Sport of Kings. Only way to play Public Enemy now, is if you are lucky enough to get it when you join a random Showdown Series.

Showdown is like the PVP grave yard mode.    Where all pvp game modes go to die..

rockstar has to do something with this thing. people must be able to choose what to play.

Personally, I would make sure to submit your feedback on their site.  I'm guessing their reasoning must be that they don't want to split the player base at this point and maybe that will change if/when the game's population ramps up.  ....but honestly, I have no idea.  

It's a shame really as I actually don't like the PvP modes for the most part and this keeps me from playing the one or two that I do.  I'll wager that this changes over time though.

Agreed. In fact, maybe players should just boycott matches until they let us choose what type we want to play. It's rediculous that we can't by now. I actually can't believe Rockstar is so arrogant funneling players into specific ones the way they do.

If a type of match isn't popular then remove it. Quit trying to force it on people.

People will already typically avoid games, modes, etc. if they don't like them.  .....and they'll play them if they do (or at least like them enough). 

Personally, I don't play them because of this.  I don't want to cycle through a bunch of modes I hate just to find that one that I might enjoy.  .....and then not being able to play it because it doesn't come back up in rotation.

Submitting our feedback to R* is a start.  Even though I don't care for PvP in a game like this I also made the suggestion to give players the option.

of course i've already given feedback many time to R* including this one about choosing games and i'm encouraging players to give feedback as well.

This current model of Zero Choice doesn't seems like it will last that long.   

The PVP games modes says 'Created' By R*.    Which to me probably means R* will add a Content Creator  to the game sooner or later.

 

Hopefully sooner than later.  Games needs more player control.

I would fully get behind a content creator... as long as it comes with the ability to choose what content i want to play... I can think of a million better ways to spend a few hours than randomly hopping around poorly made crappy showdowns created by players with no talent for it... (or a bunch of poorly created rockstar ones for that matter).

I completely agree. I hate it when the modes disappear and then go into the showdown series. Very inconvenient and annoying trying to select a particular mode I want to play.

By inconvenient and annoying do you really mean impossible and infuriating by any chance? I do like a few modes (more specifically, a map or two from a few modes) yet I can cycle through an hour of play without ever seeing them... 

I mean I suppose I could ride to the free roam marker, play a round, go back to free roam and ride to the marker again... but really... who wants to do that?
