Animal spawn rate SIGNIFICANTLY REDUCED

Why did you reduce the animal spawn rate?   Its now a barren wasteland... BUT! Complete with the sounds of phantom birds and crickets!!   Stay tuned folks,  coming up next. Guns can now misfire 45% of the time!

Also to be clear.  It seems all over.   I joined several different free roam instances to rule out it wasn’t isolated.   I wandered around new Hanover  for good 1 hour ( day and night) and found 2 deer. That’s it,   Eagle eye gave me jack too.

The kill 20 animals challenge is real challenging with no game.

Stuff happens. Maybe they are working on something in the background that affected the spawns or......?

If it persists, I'd recommend submitting a trouble ticket to R* Support.

No issues here. Plenty of animals to kill on my end.

Yeah I wiped out that 20 kills challenge in like 20 minutes too including bear and bison.

Sometimes when I'm on a barren server I find taking a mission, escort or spending some money in stables/ town/catalogue gets the spawns going.  Especially missions or escorts.

Couldn't find no prairie chickens yesterday though (although I found one flying at night in the fog) , so they definitely seem to mess with the challenge stuff in background

I'm with Dissention on this one. Easily got my 20 skins, but couldn't find a Prairie chicken to save my life. Colonel Sanders would fire me

It hapened to me before Maybe 2 or 3 Times but changing sessions always did the trick. 

Have no issues for some Time now. Havent noticed reduction in spawn rates what So ever. No problem with finding chickens. I even made a movie wich ill post today showing insane spawn rates with ducks in the Dakota River area.

As for the chickens, I did have a little trouble. It took several trips back and forth across the Heartlands before I spotted the 3 I needed simultaneously flying overhead.

For prarie chicken check:

- Around Valentine (the grassy areas south of valentine, and also east of valentine between valentine and emerald ranch)

- Great plains area right outside blackwater

Yeah I don't know about the other poster but I usually find them plentiful near emerald ranch and great plains, even tried changing servers..  I'll try the Valentine spot next time  but it gets to the point  where it's a chore...I was spending 3 in game days at whatever it is $5 a day on a Saturday afternoon in summer.   2 PVP with a decent showing is amore XP and about the same gold.

Yesterday I got 3 of them within 20 minutes of login

Same thing when spoonbills are the challenge you spend more time looking for them than you make

Yep mee too specially up in snowy mountains, the other day it was like 8 to 10 or 12 deer and I got so overwelmed and confused that only got 2 🥴
