This sounds WAY more involved. I watched the video earlier today. If people are smart, this game will sell way more than GTA V and be considered the better game of the two but I am not sure that will happen. I am more excited to play it after watching this vs watching the last trailer.

Wow so they really went all out here. Even with the damn horses. "Skittishness" is now a thing. I have a feeling I am going to be playing this game a lot more slowly than the last one just to enjoy every aspect of it.

I totally agree. I played RDR1 with two horses. I had the first one for more then half the game. When collecting sage, a cougar came out of the brush and killed her. It was devistating! It’ll be worse now that a relationship will have to be formed and nurtured! But I look forward to it.

Ill also be playing this one slow. I don’t want to miss a thing.

How crazy is it that both Rockstar North and San Diego teamed up to do this? And the fact that the map will be bigger than GTA V ?! No jets, no fast cars, just a horse, wagon, boat or train getting you from A to B.  The world will feel absolutely enormous.

I started watching this the other day and finished it earlier tonight and I am just mind blown at the attention to detail and creative thinking they put into this game. I also agree this has me more ready and excited for the game than those trailers. This is just a small part of the game as well.

Mind = Blown

Just hearing guys who have played it talk about it in this way gets me so much more hyped then seeing the pictures or watching the trailers. I am glad they (IGN) were able actually to discuss it. I don't remember them doing this for the first one.

The tale of hunting the deer excited me too. Not the fact that the deer cries and suffers...but yes, that i guess. I don't like the cries of an animal dying but i appreciate the attention to detail and sense of realism. Does this mean all animals or enemies are not simply alive or dead? can you leave a man wounded in battle or defend yourself against a bear or cougar attack by shooting and not killing it? I don't know, but the possibility is intriguing. Image result for red dead redemption 2

I'm wondering if the animal reaction will depend on where you shoot it.  In other words, can you get a "kill shot" that will take down the deer more humanely or faster (to avoid chasing after it).  This could have an effect on some players perhaps giving them an incentive (or a challenge) to place their shots more carefully.

I'm very excited to see this level of interaction and detail in the game world and interested to see just how far they will take it.  .....and how much influence the player will have.

Something else that can be interesting with hunting is the animal alerting other animals. So say you shoot a bear and kill it, it may cry out for other bears. Same with wolves and other canines. Also, what if shooting deer attracts predators because they smell the blood? I really like that these small details have been added. It will make the game feel so much larger overall. Like I could have fun just hunting at times without even needing to do anything else.

I didn't even consider the emotion behind it. Damn this is going to be amazing. Maybe we will have ways of healing our horses or something like a first aid kit of sorts. I would hate to come to enjoy having a horse only for some crazed cat to come out a bush and kill it. Those things were awesome but scared the crap out of me more than once lol

It does mention in the video that we’ll be able to heal our horses. IF you’ve packed what you need for the job. ie: medicine, bandages. So at least there’s that. I’ll be fully stocked at all times!

I am going to be like a male nurse going through med school to keep my horse alive, especially if it is a good one with good stats and I am well bonded with it. If it wants to be a douche I will leave it by the river and call in the wolves. I am a terrible person. lol

Will be interesting how the horses will work online. Can't have your prized horse being shot by some spiteful kid now, so my guess is they won't give it a permadeath.

Excellent point. Something I thought about too. That's gotta be the fix right? When it comes to Online, you can respawn your horse. For a fee?  And can your horse be impounded by the sheriff?

Okay I saw the bit about how your horse will become more loyal and you'll grow attached to it but has there been any news on if we can have multiple horses that we can gain this loyalty with so that we can swap them out to make sure we've always got a backup in case Yellow Snow dies out in the wild from a shootout?

I can't answer that buddy but what I can say is that the horses testicles exist and swing with the laws of physics.

Way more loyal that I was hoping for! I'm more of an opposite of the testicles sort of cowboy ????

I just now got done with the video. I knew about it but been so busy, I kept forgetting to actually sit down and watch it.

I am very impressed and surprised by how detailed all the little things in the game are. It seems like they put a lot more attention into this game than any other game they had previously made. I feel like they are trying to attract new fans doing this which is good.

What is really impressive too and something to consider, this is only a small portion of the game. I can't imagine what it will be like playing it.

Totally. Imagine all the surprises and tricks they have hidden up their sleeve that won’t be revealed until your playing it.  Very exciting.

I'm on the fence about whether I want to know more or not!

Finding these new special things is something I'd prefer to discover myself so these next few months are going to be brutal to endure.

It's a difficult thing. Wanting to know but not wanting to know. I personally don't mind learning about it, knowing that simply reading a feature is nowhere near playing the game.
