Anyone playing CoD:MW and if so.....

Anyone playing CoD:MW and if so, do you folks play the Special Operations / co-op missions?  I have a friend who bought the game and although I liked the direction they were going with some things, it was still a CoD, twitch shooter to me.  ....but I broke down, bought it and started playing when we would get together every other week for 2-3 nights.

Anyhow, the co-op really is more interesting to me and while you can do the classic co-op with just two people or solo, you can't do the Special Ops as it requires 4 people.  ....and that's the rub.  Pairing up with randoms in CoD really sucks.  I thought RDR2 could be bad but CoD is so much worse.  No team players or they are just downright annoying.

Just wondering if folks here enjoy the game and if they are into the co-op aspects.  If so, maybe they wouldn't mind joining up with us some time.  We also enjoy the Kill Confirmed PvP matches more than others but really would like to get into Spec Ops with like-minded folks that can communicate, work and have fun together.

EDIT: Were on PS4.

Don't like multiplayer, so no.

And the campaign was way overblown. I saw lots of comparisons putting it on the level of CoD4's, but it wasn't even close IMO. And somebody needs to give the developers a geography lesson, because it would take a significant, possibly catastrophic, change to the global climate for a desert region to form where they placed their so-totally-not-Syria Syria analogue.

I was almost tempted to get the game but changed my mind. I haven't been a fan of CoD games in some years but the aspects you mentioned about the game do seem interesting. When did this one come out? I'm assuming you play on PS4?

Yeah, sorry. I guess I didn't mention platforms.

Yes, PS4.  It came out last year.  Not really my cup of tea but the coop portions are kinda fun and I did enjoy the campaign although I usually don't buy these titles because the campaigns are so short and on rails.

We really want to play more of the Spec Ops coop missions which are kinda fun. We just need people we know instead of just being paired with randoms.

I don't play on console, I play it on PC. Is it a cross platform game? I don't remember it being that way. A friend gifted the game to me for Christmas. I only play it now and then. Not really big into cod games.

The PvP is at least cross platform, yes.

I’m on PS4. GT is xI_ENOCH_Ix

I’ve played just a few rounds of Spec Ops because, like you said, randos are annoying. I’m also a big fan of playing hardcore Cyber Attack. That mode tends to have slower action and a more tactical feel. Not to mention some of the nighttime modes.

Cool.  I'll msg you if we decide to get on to see if you're game.  ...maybe next week.  Still need a 4th though.

btw, if you like hardcore and the slower pace, check out Insurgency Sandstorm.  It will be releasing on PS4 this August but has been on PC for a while.  ....very lethal, ammo management, no markers, etc.  It's got milsim elements but relatively faster paced.

CoD is just filling a vod for us right now.

btw, we tend to enjoy the Kill Confirmed mode.  Not sure exactly why but it just seems less annoying than some of the other modes to us.

I fully intend on getting Insurgency. Been craving for a tactical shooter on console for a while now. I know there’s R6, but that game has been out for a while and I can only predict the ire most players will have for a noob on their team.

Kill Confirmed is cool. But I still get drawn back to HC CA. Quick TTK, slow revives, and having to move the objective from one side of the map to the other. Some of the maps aren’t conducive to the mode, but most are. I always have fun with it.

Can't get my buddy into HC although he's a HC tactical shooter kinda guy.  This CoD mode just doesn't speak to him for some reason.  He get confused but then again, he's old like me.  😄

btw, speaking of tactical shooters, did you hear about the title update planned for GR Breakpoint on the 24th?  It took a failure of the game to make them listen to the feedback we all had been providing since GRW for them to finally listen.  The list of changes are huge and will be part of the new Ghost Experience.  You'll be able to turn off the weapon leveling crap, etc.  They also cancelled the next "raid" in favor of concentrating on the Ghost Experience.  This looks like the new way forward for GRB.  I'm actually considering buying it now.

CoD ain’t for everyone. I can definitely understand that. I tend to gravitate towards more un-CoD modes myself. 😂

And I hadn’t heard about that. Interesting. I loved Wildlands, and I was looking forward to Breakpoint, but with exception of a few developers I tend to wait for reviews before I plop my money down on a game. Since GRBP had such a horrible launch, I chose to not buy it. Those improvements sound cool, though.

I don’t know how populated the community is on Wildlands now, but if you guys want to hop into that game I’m down as well.

Will it include offline play and AI teammates?

No offline play and AI teammates have not been added yet.

Then I still have no use for the game.

Honestly, if I want to play a lone operative on a stealth mission, I can pop MGS4 or Splinter Cell Blacklist into my PS3. You know, games that are actually designed around this idea rather than having it shifted onto me because the developers don't like that I'm not interested in co-op.

...I wasn't trying to pitch the game to you but ok.  ;)

I'm more into co-op as I was in GRW.  I'm not interested in the team AI and frankly, the always-online aspect isn't a deal breaker for me as some others.  However, a lot of the issues I had with the game they seem to be addressing in the next TU and they plan to continue updating the Ghost Experience from here on out.  ......they even cancelled the next raid.

Yeah, I'm not really a fan of CoD myself and in fact, this was the first one I bought in a long time.

I loved GRW as well as did my friends who I co-op'ed with.  We played tons of hours on that game regularly over the course of many months.  We were sorely disappointed with the direction they went with GRB as were many others.  Here's the trailer fo the upcoming TU and the links to the fetails:

I was never big on the PvP aspect of GRW (Ghost War).  I did love the core gameplay of the main game though.

Did try it but it stopped with that, random scrubs i can deal whit, the "adaptive AI" i cant.

4vs untold number of AI should be predictable spawn patterns only. in the way it is, it required far more "work" then it is worth, and CoD is not a pve teambased shooter, and that clearly shows when you play spec ops.

Well, since I created this thread I have been able to team up with friends of friends and powered through several of these missions.  While I agree with the enemy spawns which can happen in areas behind you that were just cleared, etc., some aspects to some of the missions were actually quite fun.  It's those situations at certain points that are not but even then, with a group of friends that can work together, I still found enjoyment from it.

Either way, we are all having much more fun in Hardcore PvP Kill Confirmed and TD.  Still can't wait for Sandstorm though to really scratch that tactical shooter itch.

I dont play it anymore.

It realy irretates me that they keep dumping out map after map but dont WANT to add a map filter. About 90% of the maps are unplayable ubercampfest junk to me.

And while dropping the prestigue system sounded good in the beginning, it became quicky obvious that it is 100% needed, cuz why should you keep playing when you have reached max lv on the weapon?? skin unlock are allso just a 1 time thing that goes realy fast when you set yourself into it.

The game lasted me true the first season. By the time it ended, i had reached lv100 on the pass, gone to 155 for the 2nd time and hit max lv on all the OP guns, and the guns i found to be oddly wierd and fun to use. Last ditch grind effort i did was sometime in season 2 when that 1 week of xp boosts was added, i did the xrossbow to max lv and every single sidearm to max lv.

shortly after season 3 dropped i uninstalled.

Sill, IMO it is the BEST cod game released since cod4, and i find it kinda sad it will be dropped by 90% of the playerbase when the new cod comes in november, the game deserves 2 years alone on the throne.

Well, sorry to see you're not enjoying it anymore.  My friends and I are still having fun with it.

I've actually been leveling up other weapons once I complete them and at times I'm just using my favorite load out. To me, the enjoyment comes not from the grind but the gameplay with friends.

I never used the prestige in past CoD titles and to be honest, this was the first CoD title I have bought in many years.

Plenty of folks still playing either way so I don't know what's going to happen when the next title releases.  It may not be as well received as this one but I guess we'll have to see.

From what I understand its not in their plans that the main game continue on for years like other GaaS models ( think GTAVO, R6S, etc.). They are still currently planning to keep releasing CoD titles as they have.  .....just like BF does.  However, Warzone appears to be the one element that may remain throughout moving forward from what I'm hearing.

For me, the changes they made to this iteration of the series has been the best ideas they have had in a very long time.

Play it strictly for Warzone.  Low investment threshold and every game is different.

I got tired of it.  I never liked BR but I did like Plunder.  What I absolutely hate however is just how bullet spongy the damage is especially with the armor.  I will only play hardcore and usually only TDM and TDM Kill Confirmed.  I also dabble in the co-op modes from time to time.

We usually have enough folks on to just about fill up a team (4-6).  It's a blast with a team full of friends as we can start using tactics.

I'm still waiting for Insurgency Sandstorm though as it's more my style in regard to military, tactical shooters.  There's another that's coming which is heavily influenced by SOCOM.  ......although they want to make it more realistic.   It releasing on PC first and then console. It's called Zero Six: Behind Enemy Lines.

I just uninstalled MW. This latest update was the straw that broke the camel’s back for me. It wanted me to delete 1.23g of data so it could install...when I had 230g of free space. Optimization and compression clearly isn’t in Infinity Ward’s/Activision’s wheelhouse.

Not to mention the blatant propaganda that’s being pushed on every loading screen now.

I went back to Battlefield 4 for the time being.

I bought a 1tb ext SSD for my PS4 a while back and haven't looked back. Large downloads aren't an issue for me anymore.  I just recently started getting to a point where I needed to start shifting some stuff on to my internal HDD so I put most of my kids games on there and left mine on the SSD.  .....but yeah, I can see how some may get put off by the download sizes.

I have an external HD as well. That’s not the point. The problem is that they want me to delete 1.23g of space when I already have 230g of space free. That tells me they’re not optimizing their updates, not utilizing compression software, and that they’ve known about this problem for months and haven’t bothered to fix it.

Yeah, I have no idea why that it is.  THe update was only around 30GB this time around but after it was done it was only supposed to add 4 additional gigs of space.  I don't even think I have that much space left right now.

Anyhow, not trying to belittle your reasons.  I know space and MW resource hogging is a valid concern for a lot of folks.

Reinstalled this title again yesterday, little did i know that todays update was ment to tie MW, blackops, and warzone into 1 unified lv system. (so if you jump back in, you will be lv1 again, and have to go to 55 before you can do the elite lv) allso all unlocks are on a unified lv system, If you play MW you can unlock weps for black ops, and weps from both titles can be found in warzone at the same time.

Battlepass progression is allso shared across the 3 titles.

Overall i kinda like that move since it appears that they want to increase the longivity of the older games, as that was one of the major issues with cod for the past 12 years, once a new game was released the prev became 100% obselete, but the issued that i had during spring are still there.

It is just that i had a shooter itch and i did not want to buy BO.
