What are some things the internet has taught you over the years? Share them!

The internet has taught me that no matter how good my intentions are with anything, someone will always be there to try to make me feel bad. Well, screw them. It isn't working!

(I recently gave advice to help someone out on reddit and some random guy tried telling me that I should basically end my existence for giving such awful advice. Classy!)

Skunks appreciate Coke ( @Cokeyskunk )

Libraries are just giant buildings with a fraction of the information that my phone can get me

Everyone knows everything about anything

There's always free legal/medical advice on any public forum

People can't keep politics out of comments on news stories (no matter how unrelated)

Most of my ideas already exist (like @BropolloCreed79's mistletoe belt buckle)

I really never HAVE TO go to a store to get what I need

That, no matter your religious or political beliefs, you are wrong and an idiot.

Well, I learned that people are generally worse online than in person so when someone online rubs you the wrong way, take it with a grain of salt. They likely don't talk or act like that in person.

You can be anything you want to be on the internet and there will always be people who believe you.

You can be honest online and there will always be people who don't believe you.

If you want to be literal, quite a lot. I am one of those people who will find an interest in something random and research it. The internet is a wonderful place when you know who and what to avoid.

That I am a racist, sexist pig who needs to be banned from using the internet. The damn memes man. I blame the memes.

Well, I would believe this based on your avatar. Pepe basically makes people lose their minds anymore. I don't know what happened with that lol

People need to get over Pepe and other memes. They act like they are weapons or something.

Kind of on par with that, the internet taught me that grown men and women can be over-privileged narcissists that complain about everything hurting their feelings and the second someone doesn't agree with their own personal feelings on something, that person is viewed as an enemy. I will live the lively words and colorful terms they like to throw around out of it. Pisses me off though. It is like having an annoying younger sibling who interrupts your enjoyment in basically everything.

The internet makes everything great while simultaneously making it worse. That is down to certain sites and people though. If you avoid social media, stick to forums, and focus on what you want/believe, then you can have a good time.
