CMcC
As I did with GTA, I will focus all my efforts on the Story and exploring that world. Once I’ve finished, I’ll get Online and start that adventure. Edited August 21, 2018 by CMcC
Benjo
I feel if I don't start it straight away I'll be at an immediate disadvantage to the 12 year olds. Plus, I REALLY want to see what it's like. I expect they won't launch online till later though like they did with GTAO right? What do you think?

I’d like to think that, given all of their delays, they’re prepared to launch a complete gaming experience. But it’s Rockstar, and they don’t give a ****. So I don’t know. As for the 12 year olds, Benjo- They go to school, pull the pud and play Red Dead. Nothing else. They’re always gonna have a leg up. Kean_1
Normally, I would say that I prefer to play the campaign first and then online. .....and I did for this poll. However, this time around I have a couple of good PSN friends (and some from here) that might cause me to rethink this trend. Who knows.... I could still play the campaign on my own time and go online with friends. EIther way, I am definitely going to spend a lot of "me" time in the campaign. ......sure wish we could do co-op as well though.
Archbell
I'll probably try and get to a stable point in the story, get past the introduction and gain a basic knowledge of the game world then I'll see how I feel.

shawn
I will be focusing on the story first. That is the main reason for me wanting the game. The online bit is just a bonus. Not to mention, they may do a delay when you can go online like they did with GTA V.
Jackthestripper
I will be playing the story line first. However, if there is no delay for the online play, I may be tempted to jump on out of curiosity for a little while even if the story line isn't completed. If there IS a delay, which I think there might be, my goal will be to finish the story line before online is launched. But basically, I will finish the story line before jumping really deep into the online world. I'm not worried about people being way higher levels online by the time I get there. I will catch up, and besides, a higher level doesn't mean they're more skilled at the game.

If that's the plan for R*, then I'd imagine they'll launch the online component on or just before Black Friday, so that the "full game" is available on the biggest shopping day of the year in the US. From a strategy standpoint, this makes the most sense; early adopters and fans will have an opportunity to explore the game's open world and finish the main story for nearly a month before the online portion becomes active. 48 minutes ago, Jackthestripper said: besides, a higher level doesn't mean they're more skilled at the game. Without a putative system for progression, leveling in an online game is definitely not indicative of player ability.
Fribbo
The only time I'll go on Online is to just have a look through the different features and to customise my character, if this is an option, other than that I'll be playing through the story first. HIGHHorse
After. As much as I am excited to see what they do with the online end, I can wait for it. I feel like most fans will be the same. Some will want to get online ASAP and cool for them but I think the story is worth getting my full dedication first.
Fribbo
It just doesn't feel right playing multiplayer before you play the story mode, in my opinion, have to play through the story always before online, especially with a game like Red Dead with one of the best gaming stories ever. Freddie Mercury
After I've completed the story, i prefer completing a story first. Then i just play online afterwards.

Then again, R* has usually kept GTA in similar game play constructs ever since GTA III, so it stands to reason that the storyline mode for RDR2 will closely mimic the structure of RDR.
Benjo
I'll probably wait until some time in November.
