Could not agree more. In fact, the mods have even been discussing this film quite a bit! Riveting story. One of my all-time favorites. I only got the "I am not from Havana!" joke a couple of years ago. Leave it to Mel Brooks to tell a joke it takes you 40 years to get.2 points

Personally I like letting the story take me around the map and spending some time exploring each area as and when I get to it. I find it adds to the excitement of the game when you look at the map and think “I’ve still got all this to uncover”. Progressing the story naturally also opens up more things to do along the way. For example, I would imagine there will be a mission at some point that will introduce you to hunting and fishing. You may not unlock the various activities until you have completed the tutorial missions.2 points

Darn it all to heck. They’re also the only company I see that still doesn’t have a physical copy available for preorder. Which is what I’m after. Say what you will, I don’t trust the cloud. What if that stuff gets hacked or crashes?! It’s all gone! I also like seeing that box in my library so there’s that. I’m the guy that still buys dvds.2 points

Those are two of my favorites! I laugh my butt off at the dimes and the "Baby, they was RIGHT!" line every time. Two more of my favorites: Lamarr: "Just think about your secretaryyyy . . . " Bart: "What do YOU like to do?" Jim: "I don' know . . . play chess . . . screw . . . " Bart: "Well, let's play chess."1 point

There's so many great parts in that film, but the one that always makes me crack up is when Taggart and the raiders are slowed down by the William J. Le Petomane Thuway. "Somebody's gotta go back and get a s---load of dimes!" I die laughing every time. That, and when Bart shows up at the labor camp again,: Charlie: "They said you was hung." Bart: "And they was right". They'd never make that film nowadays. Hell, I'm surprised it hasn't been banned outright.1 point

This is true until you have your own children who get excited about it. I adored Christmas as a kid, then it waned as I got into my teens and early twenties. But when my first child started to love Christmas, it came back to me full-force. The spirit of giving really overtakes the spirit of receiving when that happens.1 point

You put this together? Very well done, sir! An enjoyable watch, to be sure. I'm sure some of the folks at R* would grin at you catching a few of these.1 point

I agree 100% about the skinning. Skipping the animation would be great. Hunting was way too easy in RDR. Killing 7 bears, 12 deer, 14 wolves, THEN heading off to sell them is also super unrealistic. Only being able to kill one bear and then have to bring it back to camp seems more of a challenge and more realistic.1 point

Excellent video my friend! Really enjoyed it, and actually learned a little something about history.1 point

I as well will be letting the story line introduce me to the map. I mean, if there is an opportunity in the story line to kind of roam around and stuff, which I am sure there will be, I might wander off and explore, but for the most part I will just play the story line and check everything out slowly.1 point

The Blu Ray of The Quiet Man gets a lot of airings in Casa de Creed. So much so, that my kids know there's a problem when I tell them, "you just made the list!". Pro tip: Blazing Saddles is available to stream as part of the Amazon Prime package right now.1 point

I’m going to throw in Christmas to the list. Yeah its great when you’re a kid and get loads of presents but once you’re past that stage its just 6 weeks of hype building up to one day and is over before you know it.1 point

This depends on how the map is opened up. If it is timed like before where you have to complete so many missions for the main story, then I will likely just explore as I am given the chance but if we are able to go where ever and do whatever, I might spend a good week or 2 just running around looking at everything.1 point

I watched this earlier today. Meant to sign on and comment. I actually really enjoyed this video. I like when people make these comparisons and theories based on similar characters throughout entertainment and media, like matching video game characters to movie, tv show, or internet series characters. Nice job man.1 point

I think technology has reached a point to say a lot of it is overrated. Not all of it, but a lot of it. Like yeah, it makes life more convenient but so many people basically jump through hoops of fire to talk about how cool something is and then when you buy it yourself, you get bored with it in a week. lol1 point

Though not a gunslinging Western, I recommend Mclintock. Grest John Wayne film. Also dug The Quiet Man. And yes @BropolloCreed79, I am surprised no one said Blazing Saddles. Classic. No Country For Old Men was amazing. Young Guns was one of my favorites growing up. Outlaw Josie Wales is great. High Plains Drifter may be my second favorite. Bad ass when he paints the town red.1 point

Nice video! To say they are the real life counterparts is a bit of a stretch - they're mostly tenuous guesses but an interesting watch all the same. Thanks for sharing.1 point

The modern woman. She is clingy but bossy, focused more on work and her friends, and when it comes to sex, there has to be a terms and agreements 150-page document signed. I am obviously exaggerating here but I do think the "progressive lady" is a bit too much for me. I like a southern homely gal myself.1 point

That's basically it. It's not really a question of "Why didn't John talk about Arthur in RDR1", it's more a question of "How are R$ going to explain the fact John didn't talk about Arthur in RDR1".1 point

I still think this is an interesting idea. A good twist. But maybe he doesn't die at all. Killing off the main character has been done. It's a bit tired and predictable. Maybe with this one we get a happy ending.1 point

I have a thought. When we first meet John Marston riiiiiight at the start of RDR1 He's not at Beecher's Hope. He's getting off of the steamboat with the federales. Which suggests they have either brought him back from somewhere abroad (in relation to West Elizabeth and New Austin). We also know that the FBI (or its RDR incumbent) has blackmailed John into being its assassin. He's tasked with capturing or killing Bill Williamson ("I'm trying to save you Bill. They'll kill us all") Javier Escuela and Dutch Van Der Linde. One by one exterminating the members of the old gang. Whats not to say that John hasn't just stepped off of that steamboat after killing Arthur Morgan on behalf of the law?0 points
