I just opened it to check the sauce levels and I swear I had a mini orgasm... My apartment smells like MEAT, but that smells incredible. Edit: sauce levels are good in case you were curious.2 points

This seems like the best place to announce this. I just had a Cincinnati 3-way in my office, and it... ...was... ...AMAZING!2 points

I didn't even think of that. I might just post the question on Reddit for laughs after the game comes out. I would imagine it would get a lot of attention and we can all laugh at the answers here. lol1 point

You, sir are a sick, sick food pornographer. I do the same thing to my brats, with Guinness, and Hungarian hot peppers on there as well, but I certainly don't get so graphic in telling others about it, smut peddler!1 point

This is how I make pulled pork, except I don't use the liquid smoke - I smoke the pork in the pit for 3-4 hours. But the root beer makes it fantastic. It's yum. @Truth - if you want a little crunch to them, set your oven to BROIL, let it get hot, then put your ribs (on a baking sheet) in there for five minutes. You can either pour the barbecue sauce back on before or after. Each yields a different result. Maybe do one rack before and one after and see which you like best. Would love to see a photo of the final product, t'wert thou so inclined. No, I've not. But then again, I just enjoy them too damned much after blanching them in near-boiling beer and onions, then grilling them to a golden brown. Add some creole or brown mustard, along with some sauteed onions & peppers in a bun, with sauerkraut and red cabbage on the side -- OMG, what a meal!!!1 point

Well, I can't speak for others but I found the characters fun and amusing. The whole GTA game world was based on the ridiculous aspects of modern society and then kicked it up ten notches. I liked Michael and Franklin although I will admit I never felt comfortable with Trevor. ......always kinda weirded me out. :lol:1 point

Speaking of slow cooker meals. Has anyone here tried Beer Brats in a slow cooker?1 point

See, I have a feeling it'll be MORE chaotic, because it was the "wild, wild west", not the "reasonably whimsical west".1 point

Except just about everyone who buys the game on Day 1 is doing so for the Single Player element, since online won't be available for a month or more after the initial rollout. R* will have our money at that point, regardless of whether we like the online component or not. Prolonged financial success, yes. But I'm pretty confident they'll recover the production costs with sales of the game itself LONG before they get to monetizing it with the online component. The real question is whether or not the online mode will be self-sustaining with it's monetization scheme.1 point

There's no such thing. One of my brothers went to the University of Cincinnati for his undergrad; I think we may have different definitions of "a Cincinnati 3-way", but I AM confident they both involve chili (or what passes for "chili" in "The Nasty Natti"). More like "liquid gold". That stuff is amazing--perfect when we make pulled pork sandos in a slow cooker. Curious? Here's what you need: 1 Bottle of Liquid Smoke 1 12oz can of root beer 1 Pork Loin (really any kind of pork will do, I just prefer that particular cut) 1 bottle of barbecue sauce place the pork loin in the slow cooker. Add in the root beer and liquid smoke. Cook on low heat for 8-10 hours. Remove the pork and shred with a fork. In a separate bowl, add one cup of the "juice" from the slow cooker to one cup of bbq sauce and mix. Then mix in the meat. Toss it on a bun and chow down. For variety, try different sodas. It turns out Dr. Pepper is AMAZING with the right BBQ sauce to compliment it. If we're thinking of the same video, the word "BOOYAH!" is involved, but unlike you, I show everyone that video. It's a great conversation starter at parties.1 point

Yeah, while other AAA companies have either completely scrapped or cut back on SP elements due to a lack of profitability, R* is still committed to delivering that to their customers. They still believe in the SP experience, the story telling and the immersion it provides. There is a fan base for SP games and R* is one of those who still sees a value in producing that kind of content. R* chose to forego DLC in GTAV, but they also have explained why. Three major factors at the time included improvements to GTA Online (which was in bad shape initially), the porting of GTA V to PS4 / XB1 and the developing Red Dead Redemption II. They also felt that the single player campaign was already quite robust as is . .....and while I would have liked DLC for it, I have to agree that it was a long and satisfying game as is. What it boils down to is that they felt GTAV DLC was simply not "possible or necessary" at the time but they have expressed an interest in offering SP DLC in future games. .....so I think there is a fair chance for RDR2 in that regard. Personally, I also see nothing wrong with online either. Whether I end up playing it is another story and will depend greatly on how it caters to a cooperative playstyle. .....I am definitely not a fan of adversarial gameplay especially in the chaotic form we know in GTAV:O. All I do know is that I will be playing the hell out of the campaign and I have no doubt it will at least provide me with my monies worth. Either way, I believe R* has learned a lot from GTAV/O and I would expect that those lessons have been applied to RDR2/RDO. .....in a positive way.1 point

I try to pay attention to the things that I can't control, cause you never know when those things may come back to bite you in the backside. I also don't dwell on them too much either. Sometimes life just gives you lemons, the alcoholic drink you make from it just shows your creativity. Once I became a father, I am more concerned by the actions of others and how it may affect his future.1 point

I don't know that there will be DLC... Or, at least I don't trust that there will be. DLC isn't as profitable as it was before online microtransactions. GTA 5 was meant to have DLC's. One for each character. They all got scrapped when R* saw the ungodly amount of moolah they could make through shark cards. And to be honest, I genuinely think if RDR2 online get's to that level of success they'll scrap main story DLC too. This is the burden of being a giant corporation. They can afford to make giant, beautiful and immersive games, but they HAVE to make money for their investors. If they don't, the investors walk away. And so naturally, the bigger a company gets the more calculated it gets in extracting money from their customers. Even if it's by delivering a sub par experience to the customer -- hence GTA online1 point

Agreed. I'm really excited for story mode. But my interest starts and ends there. Maybe R* can change my mind by making online a more player friendly -- but considering one of the exclusive digital pre-order bonuses for the $100 ultimate edition of the game is a quick rank up to level 25 in RDR2 online... All I'm seeing is red flags. Either way, so long as they haven't stripped features from RDR2's main story (like they did for GTA5, promising your character could buy apartments before making it exclusive to GTAO) I won't be bothered by what they do with RDR online. Here's hoping our hype is justified!1 point

Yeah, I would rather work for my in-game money too and if the gameplay is entertaining enough (with enough activities, missions, side quests, etc.), I don't mind. Personally, I like the virtual currency model over loot boxes / crates but Take Two has already said that future MTX opportunities may not include virtual currency. They also came out in defense of loot boxes during the controversy. ....so yeah, I can see them possibly adding them in RDR2 or some mixture of both. We'll just have to see how it goes. What I do know is that these guys are not stupid and they know that all eyes are on them right now. .....a bad decision with RDR2 could really put a dent in their upward momentum. Some folks are always going to be against MTXs but the the fact is they are here to stay. There are companies that simply do it better than others in the eye of the consumer as you mentioned in your example. However, I have confidence that R* has put a lot of thought in regard to the potential impact of such choices in RDO. .....but we'll just have to see how it all shakes out I suppose.1 point

There is nothing wrong with guys looking to help out some noobs, be it female or male but if you start making it your life's mission to handhold a female through a game that requires a group effort, you end up hurting the entirety of the mission. I played a lot of WoW back in the day and it was a MAJOR issue on there.1 point

I believed the game was going to come out in 2017 and that ended up not being true. So there is one thing. I think that one got a lot of us lol1 point

That's my point. R* literally designed online to be a GRIND. It was never meant to be a rewarding experience of building a criminal empire from scratch. It was intentionally created to frustrate teenagers into buying shark cards. And luxury items like yachts (which you said yourself have no utility outside of "bragging rights") were placed into the game to make teenagers jealous of each other to the point of buying shark cards to get to the level of their in game friends. R* utilizes the same type of predatory practices that Facebook does. It creates social imbalances where people feel the need to compete. In the same way people on social media NEED people to press the like button on their photos, GTAO players (especially young teenage ones) feel the NEED to own luxury items in the game (especially when their buddies own apartments and full garages and a collection of yachts). And they'll shell out $20+ a month of their parents money to buy a couple mill a year in the game. You said it yourself, you needed get rich quick tutorials to help you make money in the game. You couldn't have done it intuitively by just playing missions and having fun. I'm also guessing (I may be wrong) that it wasn't all pleasant. A lot of your wealth building in game was a tireless grind. Not enjoyable or rewarding in the same way buying a shark card gives you instant gratification.1 point
