  1. It's such a pain >.< For anyone having the same problem, I contacted Rockstar and they've said it's an issue they're currently working on, but unfortunately there's no fix for it right now.

  2. Yesterday was the first time my posse encountered a posse of 3 who were obviously running with Slippery Bastard. Everyone of them. They were running with constant Dead Eye only to drop out while aiming and instantly jumping back in to Dead Eye. Topping this with explosive ammo. We were a posse of 7 and tried our best but had no other option then jumping to another session. Is there a counter strategy against this? This is unbelievable nonsense from Rockstar. We have had a few low level people in our posse mostly unaware of this card at all.

  3. Well, this is me. I'm somewhat over 50, so slower than a lot of other young folks around here. I've been gaming on and off ever since the early days of home computers (anyone remember Pong on the old Atari?) I'm not saying I'm any good at many of the games I played, I just play to enjoy them. I've worked all my life with computers, and I'm currently a software developer for a large UK based software company. Thankfully, I enjoy my job and have a great boss. I live in the south of the UK with my partner and two dogs. I get onto the console when I'm allowed to (that's about 600 hours worth since RDR2 was released...) I used to have a PS1 years ago and played a lot of Doom, until it started making me really really angry. I bought an Xbox 360 solely after watching adverts for Forza Motorsport 3. And then FM4 was release, and then Forza Horizon, FM5, Forza Horizon 2 (you get the picture). I was a moderator on the Forza Motorsports official site, so I've seen some of the best and worse of online gaming. I tend to play in campaign/story mode most of the time - I'm just not quick enough to catch up or compete with the kids online these days. So now I'm here. Being helped by the good folk here, and trying to pay it back when I can. And now some fool goes and makes me a moderator! That's as bad as putting Pearson in charge of food...

  4. Rank 167 or something. Played since two weeks after online launch. At first I only wanted rank 58 so I can get my foxtrotter horse. Didn't care after that but I still was hitting about 3-6 ranks per day (about 5-8 hours of playtime per day). Then I wanted dynamite arrows after a former friend screwed me over with them so I can exact my revenge upon him, and oohhhh how sweet it was. Totally worth the grind. So after 93 I stopped caring, cuz at that point ranks don't matter anymore. Strategy was running with a full posse and waiting out missions until the last 10-30s and hunting/gathering/screwing around during the wait. Hideouts whenever possible. Resetting achievements. Then we would do story missions and hold it for 30mins for that sweet $50 and 1098 exp (and then some depending on whether you afk'd or went hunting during the wait time). Typical session is either an all out warzone or pretty peaceful, seems 50/50 these days. Been running into more people that aren't sore losers and it's been pretty nice for a change. Half the time I'm solo and it's still pretty weird for me to be able to run by someone and them not instantly start shooting at me, but me being a paranoid freak will always be ready to blast someone into next week if they wanna try something. I feel the colored blips do help to an extent, people are less on edge. But that's just my experience with it. No I'm not actively still trying to rank but I still manage a rank or two a day despite that. I mostly play because I do enjoy the online portion and I enjoy playing with my friends.

  5. That's when I stopped as well. It started feeling like a never ending battle. While my MBs, CPUs, sound cards, memory, HDDs, etc. were usually good to go for a while, it was the video cards I was replacing more often. It got to the point where I had a hard time justifying the upgrades. Just wasn't worth it. .....and as time went on the new cards required new, more powerful power supplies and new MBs with the appropriate interface. Enough was enough so I bought the PS3 when they came out and been a PS player ever since.

  6. I spat! 😂 Best moderator "No" ever hahaha. You earned that star, sir... you wear it proudly! But yep, they definitely did change the original narrative, but every game goes through these types of major changes before releasing. Some remnants are bound to still be present within the code. My brother is convinced somewhere there's a hidden ending where Arthur lives, but it just hasn't been found yet. I'd like to believe that but deep down I don't think there is.

  7. That's what pay to win is. Letting low ranks buy overpowered sh*t just cuz they have the irl money for it. A bad disease that seems to plague most MMOs. So far it hasn't fully touched RDO yet. It's not crazy and feels good when you finally get to the rank to obtain/use it. Low ranks with explosives is like giving a tantrum ridden 5 year old a flamethrower. Also slippery bastard basically makes your accuracy sh*t and you can't lock on to them, they can't lock on to you. Very handy in showdowns like fool's gold and that one I can't remember but you gotta get the other team's loot bag.

  8. Yes, you can do this one. This is the "The First Shall be the Last" mission. Go to the marker on the map, it will be safe to go there and do the mission without being killed. Just follow the route there and don't go anywhere else in the red zone.

  9. From our interactions on these boards over the past 6 weeks I knew we were very similar. I am 50, also gaming since Pong, in around 1975, had all the consoles including the Adam pc that ran on cassettes, lol not even a floppy yet, had a game on there that was 3d, I cant remember if it was sky fox or Zaxxon, but it was amazing for the day. We played breakout and hockey lol on the old Pong system. I used to build gaming pcs to play Quake 2 back when the Intel p2 was the big game in town, I built AMD machines back then that could smoke any p2 out there, anyway, kindred spirits man. I went from consoles to pc just after Goldeneye came out, and quake 2 was out, my buddy had a decent graphics card and showed me people playing Q2 "Lithium" online and I was instantly hooked, that and Weapons of destruction or WOD as it was called, my favorite. I went on to Toms Hardware site and read "what is a platform" that article changed my life, I went from knowing nothing about pcs to assembling them from scratch with components I knew would open up the Front side bus and allow throughput like I had never seen before, and it worked. I was able to play Quake 2 at 1200x1600 at 99 fps and it was smooth as butta and my buddy was green with envy, then I built him a machine. I went that weekend and bought a motherboard, and all the fixin's and built myself a gaming machine and never looked back, until the Xbox one came along, then I decided that the games have come so far now, that for $450 I can get nearly the same quality as I can with my $2500 pc's, so I retired my gaming pcs and bought the xbox one x and I havent looked back. Anyway I had a feeling that we had similar interests and were around the same age just from your posts and demeanor,

  10. I don't have an issue with females gaming, it has been my experience that they can be the most blood thirsty and ruthless players I have gamed with. I just find it odd that when players hear a female voice in gaming. They stop what they are doing to come over and try to impress her. I just find it odd that the console cowboys, think they are impressing anyone online.

  11. My group of friends/posse comprise of mostly women and maybe a couple guys on the regular. My friend is way more vicious than any of the guys in the group, she absolutely will wipe the floor with your face when it comes to free aim sniping and lassoing ugh (have many videos of her snatching me off my horse or sniping me from impossible areas). There was a couple guys that we don't really play with anymore who apparently felt threatened by her and I and would try to put us down cuz he had some weird alpha male thing going on. Like he couldn't stand that we were higher rank and better skilled than him (idk about skill for me, I'm just paranoid af and tend to be a couple steps ahead of my enemies/opponents). As far as a distraction, I've only really noticed that sometimes guys will be super annoying with the following around or hog-tying and killing once they realize I'm a woman. Or my friend got ganged up on when some rank 280 something dude was trying to flirt with her and she didn't respond and just shotgunned him in the face. So he had his entire posse of 6 kill her repeatedly. She's rank 80.

  12. This whole scenario in the OP isn’t limited to games. It is a primary reason many oppose women serving in combat in the military. Men, culturally and perhaps even genetically, are ‘programmed’ to protect women. They tend to ignore orders, lose discipline, relegate to secondary the assigned mission to ‘go to the aid of’ women. Whether they need it, or not. (Although, just limiting it to when a woman soldier, like any man, WOULD get injured and need help — it is a kind of valid point, from what I’ve seen of men and of soldiers).

  13. Ya I miss those days. The old red dead was not rich in content. But it was so much fun. Everyone lined up. "DRAW".. I get some serious flash back when playing in certain areas of gun fights I had from the previous online version of Red Dead. Ooooh how I would chop off my left nipple just for a Hardcore Free Roam.

  14. Saying that female gamers might be a distraction for male gamers almost sounds as though the world would be better without female gamers. Which, of course, is absolutely wrong. I don't care whether gamers are male, female, non-binary, non-defining, gender-fluid, or wearing their grand-moms prom dress. I just don't care. Just play the game, shoot the bad guys, and show respect toward your fellow gamers (whether on-team or opposing). That's all I really want to see. However, Online gaming seems to be about 75% jackasses.

  16. I dont think that we are distraction for male players. I play with my friends every evening, and all of us are equal. They dont treat my like a girl, which is very comfortable for me. Otherwise will be very annoying 😀😀

  18. I was doing the strawberry loop the other day, heading back after the sun set... there was a huge line of wagons on the road heading into town, not moving. I went up along them and found wagon going the other way, out of town with another huge lineup following. It seems the first two wagons couldn’t pass each other, then other wagons began pilling up behind them. It was kind of funny though.

  19. I think the dead npcs in wagons has to deal with how the box AI works. I've seen a wagon in Rhodes blocking an intersection and a horse rider pulled a gun on them and started shooting. I imagine the same thing probably happened to the npcs you've been seeing.

  21. 01.) Just hit 69 last night. 02.) I honestly don't know. I ended up resetting my character 2 times. The first time I reached level 24 I think and the second time I was in the 30s. 03.) I mostly just do hunting and mess around with my friends. I only just started taking leveling seriously a few weeks ago. 04.) Just messing around. Sometimes I do missions. I like to just roam around and hunt, make up stupid games with friends, things like that. I would have expected myself to hit 100 by now but I am working on it.

  22. People don't like to feel like they lost. Most gamers are very competitive, especially dudes. Some will go out of their way just to feel better about themselves, even if that means targetting one player over and over again.

  23. Facing the horse and having nothing between it and you ifs probably a good idea before you try mounting a horse. It’s worked fine that way for me for a few thousand times. Sometimes you hit or shoot someone by mistake. This is the old West, that happened sometimes. Seriously though, it’s just a matter of getting used to the controls.

  24. Let's not and say we did...... This is a fan site, not an official forum of R*. ......but feel free doing this on R*s feedback site if you wish: https://www.rockstargames.com/reddeadredemption2/online/feedback?step=f2e50892

  25. I typically find the gunplay mechanics in R* games a little clumsy for me. ....even fine character movements. It's funny but I usually prefer free aim in most other games I play but not R* ones. It just doesn't feel as comfortable as other titles do. ....but then again, I don't play these games for the gun play mechanics. It's the whole package with all the other aspects of their games that attract me. If they had hardcore sessions with no AA, no ability cards, etc. I'd probably be all over it.

  26. Best counter is you have to learn to free aim. I love the perk. I use it to annoy varmit spammers. I think it is a brilliant perk. Every card set up can be countered. I faced a posse doing the same thing last week. But that is why I keep a scope on my Lancaster.

  27. Maybe. I think it comes down to personal preference and play style. Overall, I think the Fox Trotter is the better horse. It has a faster top speed and more stamina to maintain it. I also think they are the most calm and easily controlled horses in the game (with good stats). So if you're playing the game solo or do a lot of traveling and hunting, etc. it may be the best horse for you. Certainly my favorite for general free roam style of play. However, and this is a big consideration, if your play style is more PvP based, more protracted and ongoing gun fights and hunting down opposing posses and such, then I would say the Turkoman is the better choice by a pretty significant margin. It has the same acceleration as the Fox Trotter, just not the top speed. Which, acceleration is probably more important in pitched gun battles than top speed anyway. And although you give up some longer ranging stamina you more than make up for it in much better health so that your horse has a better chance of surviving throughout the battle. Seriously, I don't think you can go wrong with either choice. It's just a matter of which you really value more. Health or Stamina. As for the Arabians, no. Absolutely not. Skittish little ponies that everyone just looks ridiculously huge riding on.

  28. Well... sh*t.. There it is. OK, I guess I should. Hoover, because I totally suck due to my disability. And RAD, because it's my initials. There's a longer version of the Hoover thing, but I won't bore you with all the details..

  30. If I remember, @BelleStarr is a lady gamer. What do you think about this? Personally I think it's funny how kids put their bow tie on and try to act cool in front of a random gamer just because they are a girl. You're at level 99/100 on a shooter game kid, you're never gonna look cool.
