  1. I do like the fact that levelling up rank unlocks better equipment and facets of the game but thats not my primary purpose for putting time into a game. If you enjoy the game, play it. If not then don't. Simple.

  2. Some people in this thread are the prime example of pay to win because they can't fathom putting in the work that everyone else has to get what they have. The main thing about MMOs is the grind. What's the point of just buying all the high end stuff. You're going to get bored faster, have nothing to work for and accomplish. It felt so good when I finally got to 58 to get my Foxtrotter. Then went on to the 80s to get fire rounds, then explosive rounds. Then all the special saddles. That satisfaction that I busted my ass to get to that point is what does it for me. I'm rank 178 now. I don't actively try to rank but I still get 1 per full day of play. (Takes about 9-10k exp for me to rank right now) Log in, make my money back upgrading cards. Play around with different set ups. I either hunt or do showdowns depending on how tired I am, with the occasional shenanigans with friends.

  3. Us old school gamers know about grind. This game isn't that much of a grind but this is what you get when every kid gets a trophy! I wan't it now or I quit. Waaaa!

  4. What kinda horse sh*t is this^.. You're obviously suffering from RD O burnout. Just take a break.. No point throwing in the hat till the beta ends. At least wait for that before putting a bullet in the game.

  5. Does anyone celebrate Easter? If so, what are your plans? I don't celebrate it in the religious sense but in the family sense. We get together as a family every year for Easter dinner and desserts. I'm just hoping for no rain so I can enjoy some fresh air. Last year it was pouring rain.

  7. @dcg911 It really depends on how you wish to deal with them. Option 1. On Xbox if they attack you relentlessly, write down their names, report, then block them. Most likely nothing will ever happen. Then again miracles do happen. Option 2. You and your friends find a different game and move on. Sooner or later they will quit chasing you. Option 3. Probably the best option. Be nice to someone like @HuDawg who claims to live for this stuff. Send him an invite when these clowns show up. Hopefully HuDawg can help you out and show you a few tricks to defend yourself. There are others that like to scrap in here as well. Unfortunately, I haven't played in a spell and currently waiting for the Beta to end in the next 3 to 5 years.

  8. I ran away so I wouldn't have a shoot out. I wanted to see what the knife would do.

  9. If your going to stab someone, wait for him to die and see what happens next. At least let them try for revenge if they wish. Griefer would at least keep trying. Grief then run? What is that?

  10. LMAO YES!! i used to love the hunts. we'd go to the city park and they'd do age groups, then take an hour or so between to hide eggs for the next group. was so much fun. they had plastic eggs with numbers in them you'd take and match with a prize number if you found them. they quit doing that when i was in high school though I remember one time i must have been 5 or 6, i found a Robin's nest in a tree and though the robin eggs were easter eggs candies, popped one in my mouth and bit it. my grandmother was there, said i turned as green as the grass, spit the egg shells out, then ran around the tree and puked. just happened to puke on a plastic prize egg. they weren't too happy when i turned that one in I still haven't lived that down yet 40+ years later.

  11. I don't understand the conflict. If you don't like it, walk away. I invested a lot of time and energy into Destiny 2 until I didn't have the energy anymore. So I moved on and didn't stress about it one second. This ain't real life. It is a game. They come and they go. Big deal. I might pick up MK 11 and Days Gone myself in the next few weeks. At the end of the day it is just a game and not an ex girlfriend who just told you they are pregnant with you child.

  12. Why torture yourself? If the game isn't providing a level of enjoyment for you at this point, then why play? .....simple as that IMO. Find something else to do until the Spring Update, final release, etc. I haven't logged on for weeks even when the explosive ammo became available which now I guess I missed out on. It's not like you're stuck at a job and don't know whether you should stay or look for other employment. It's just a game, right? Move on if you feel like moving on. You can always come back to it. I've done that with GTAO since release. The Spring Update should be around the corner. That may have enough additions to change up the game play to keep you going for a while longer. I know I'll be revisiting the game at that point.

  14. I play because I enjoy it. Maybe too much. I set goals and try to make them. Let me see if I can get to lvl x by certain date, so much gold by x date etc. how many animals can I find to kill today. So much to explore can I see every inch of the map?

  15. The little rectangle in the red crosshairs is a cabin. You will find platinum earrings, a platinum necklace, liquor, canned goods, and express ammo for your rifle 😁 and maybe even some gun oil. You can hit this once every 24 hours. Also, Braithwaite Mansion has platinum jewelry, first bedroom on the left upstairs and there are liquors in the dining room. Premium cigarettes in the living room You can only hit these spots once in a 24-hour period

  16. A buckle. For buying just 1,000 consumable items in the shop/catalogue. 🙄 I feed my horse on bought carrots to help attain this award rather than the free ones I can pick up in the wild. Also buy all the cheap produce periodically but it still takes an eternity (and wasted $). Buy from catalogue and combine this award with the one for collecting items from delivery box.

  17. I can understand being done with the game. I know a few others who quit on it. Sucks to see you leave though. If you ever change your mind on it, come back Take care!

  18. I was walking through the field at sunset, peacefully admiring the view, when all the sudden I kicked up a few ducks. I reached for my varmint rifle and.. plink, plink, plink they fell to the ground. As I walked over to pick one up I noticed a blue blip on my map. When I was turning around I saw a player with dynamite in one hand and Scofield in the other. I heard over the game in a familiar voice “My Duck”. As I flew through the air in a cart wheel of death, I accepted what I already knew... My wife needs a theme song and an entourage. I'm thinking TNT

  19. Just going around to my Uncle's for dinner. They switch it off every year. Used to all go to my grandparents' house but they can't handle the load anything. Anyone do easter egg hunts when they were growing up? I miss those. Can I be a kid again? lol

  20. Players logging into Red Dead Online today will find a shiny new care package waiting for them in their camp or at the post office. The in-game catalog has also been updated with a new selection of limited issue clothing items, and certain game modes will be rewarding players with greater rewards than usual. If you have the necessary upgrades to your camp you can grab the new care package from the comfort of home, or from the nearest post office. Inside, you'll find three pieces of four Potent consumables, including Snake Oil, Miracle Tonic, Health Cure and Bitters. Rockstar is giving players who missed out on some of the past limited issue clothing items a chance to catch up. We wouldn't bank on them making a second return, so if you're interested in grabbing the Gator Hat, Ortega Vest, Hitched Skirt (Female only), Morning Tail Coat, Strickland Boots, Furred Gloves or Concho Pants, you ought to do so this week. Chances are these reruns are the result of developers not having finished up any of the new clothing items, which may be added to the game files in next week's update. These limited issue clothes are made available and un-available with so-called "tunables" that the developers control. The files are always these, but Rockstar flips the switch on and off. You can earn 1.5x the usual rewards in Gold and RDO$ this week with a number of modes. All Showdown Modes, all Races and the Gun Rush event are part of the promotion, meaning any participation in structured PvP modes will grant you the bonus earnings. Additionally, A Land of Opportunity Missions and Free Roam activities will be paying you 1.5x Gold this week as well. To help you make the most of these bonuses, Rockstar has discounted all ammo types in the game by 25%. Additionally, all rank requirements have been removed from ammunition, meaning all players can use all types. Next week we hope to see some new content arrive to Red Dead Online. Keep an eye on our feed to stay up to date. The post Red Dead Online Players Gets New Care Package appeared first on RDR2.org. Read the full story

  21. right there with you buddy, the Devs are lacking imo when it comes to actually engaging with the community even when they ask for suggestions etc.. Only reason i played was to rebuild that previous RDR experience with my crew, but even after we built it(website, discord, backstories, unique ranks etc..) they stopped being active in the game. So i am too just not really getting on especially after that previous "update" lol. Just like GTAO they started off sh*t and now when "its actually good" i never went back so you and i are the same when it comes to moving on from games. take care friend

  22. make sure you take all the loot at each location, and map piece if there is one at that spot, if you skip part of the loot it won't give credit. Just to clarify the Explorer challenge is 1 map and 9 treasures, the treasures you get with each map piece count towards the 9 needed, there's a total of 12 treasures you can get for all of the treasure maps (excluding the extra map from the special and ultimate editions)

  23. same with my son and I and our family. My parents and youngest brother and his family are the only ones religious. My brother's family is almost fanatically religious, so pretty much anytime there's a church thing going on, like easter, you won't see or hear from them. Which is fine by me, i'm not religious and get tired of all their religious talk after a couple hours. You want to get my brother really going, and i do it just to goad him and his wife sometimes, start talking about how the bible is just a bunch of children stories, fables like the Grimm Brothers, just not as gory as the original fables, not the Disney versions they have in print now.

  24. The funny part is my wife hadn't been in the game when I shot the ducks. Then she appeared when she joined my session. Kapluie and there I go.

  25. @Zampen hey there tumbleweed ! I completely understand your frustration. Just thought I would ask if it's a lack of good folk to ride with ? Would love to offer you a spot with Arthur's Angels if that is the case ? If not sorry to see you hang your hat up. And come visit from time to time. Happy trails partner.

  26. I'd be inclined to wait and see what the spring update brings before throwing in the towel if I'd put as much time into the game as you obviously have but I respect and understand your decision. I got similarly disenchanted with GTAO waiting on the heists update and then even after it arrived I never played the game to the same extent again. R* don't seem to be learning from their mistakes but I guess with the success they achieve with this approach they aren't going to change.

  27. The Nokota has grown on me. He is faster than others I have had (other than the Fox) but handles well. A bit jumpy now and then but I got so used to the speed that I can't switch back to my other horses now lol

  28. The candy is just empty calories, just like IRL. Get yourself a satchel full of big game meat and wild carrots, all the main food groups covered.

  29. Absolutley true and why i have zero motivation atm to even log on. I hope they add more rank locked items above lvl100 at least otherwise i dunno if ill continue. My plan after reaching lvl100 was to "pre" grind money and lvls in hope that they would add stuff but i was apparently wrong as it seems the current state of rdr2o is what we got and will be stuck with for a long time. Sure a couple of tweaks here and there and more bugs than ever but really nothing intresting especially now that i dont get payed for the daily challenges. Maybe in a couple of years but by then im long gone probably. Sry for the rant but it gets more and more clear to me that rockstar just want our money and they should be ashamed at the current state of this beta/peta/epsilon/game. And being treated like a idiot from the support staff with empty copy/paste replys doesnt help rockstars reputation. Best Regards a lonesome cowpoke from sweden, still looking for that beardless hansome cowboy to marry on ps4 (sry nshanny it wasnt meant to be 😪😪😪)

  30. I have gotten some just from people looking for extra help for missions and such. I don't mind joining so long as I know I am not going to be bagged and tagged. Only happened to me 2 times out of the several that I joined randomly.

  31. My honor is always maxed. I bought the poison throwing knife pamphlet yesterday. I had about 5 minutes IRL, before going offline. I stuck a poison knife in the back of a nearby blue blip and and ran away to see what would happen. Bad karma awaits me.
