  3. Red Dead Redemption 2 isn't a game that is as forthcoming with explanations of its systems as most games these days. As a result, some mechanics might be harder to get a hang of early on. Your core stats, three of the five orbs above your mini-map, denote Health, Stamina and Dead-Eye. Charging these, and more importantly upgrading them, isn't well explained, nor is the difference between cores and bars. This guide will help you out with these stats. The other two cores are horse health and stamina, which aren't as important as the others. With cores, you have two values, one is the "bar" which actually is the colored fill around the edge of the circle, and the other is the core itself. Cores are Rockstar's way of adding a measure of survival gameplay to Red Dead Redemption 2. The main difference between cores and bars is that cores drain passively. Not doing anything, not using anything, not touching the controller - your cores still drain. The health and stamina cores work the same way, but Dead-Eye is different, so we'll deal with that later on. Basically, core drain is Rockstar's abstraction of hunger, fatigue, discomfort and so on. If you don't eat for a long time, the cores drain quicker. If you are dressed for the wrong weather, your cores will drain quicker. In ideal circumstances, meaning there are no extra factors causing Arthur problems, cores drain from full to empty in 90 real-world minutes (this still applies to Dead-Eye). Bars, on the other hand, work like health and stamina does in every other game. Get shot, health bar goes down. Sprint, stamina bar goes down. How are bars and cores related? Simple - the more juice in your Health and Stamina cores, the faster your bars regenerate. If your cores are running low, regeneration takes a hit. Another interaction is that when the bars run out, the cores start being consumed. If you take so much damage that your health bar is empty, Arthur doesn't die immediately, but rather further damage reduces your health core. When both are empty, you're wasted. In practical terms, this means that so long as you don't empty your bars in any circumstances, you only need to care about cores every good hour or so. In order to refill cores and bars, the game uses a wide array of consumable items, which are helpfully categorized. All Provisions refill cores, with their description stating which core they refill, while Tonics refill bars. Alternatively, resting can refill cores. Take Arthur back to camp, or to any bed you encounter that isn't occupied, and take a nap. Certain Tonics have yellow icons. This means that they don't only refill one of your bars, but fortify them. Fortified bars turn yellow and for a short amount of time do not drain even when used. Think of these as special potions are used in other games - you typically use them when you know a tough encounter is ahead. Cores are un-upgradeable. All cores drain from full to empty in 90 minutes and there is nothing you can do about that. Bars are a different story. Bars have their own system for upgrades where using them upgrades them in a sense. Running or performing other Stamina consuming activities will, over time, upgrade your Stamina bar. Shooting enemies or animals with Dead-Eye will upgrade it. Skinning animals and gathering food upgrades Health. While the Dead-Eye core is the same, the Dead-Eye bar isn't - it doesn't regenerate. Even at a full core, you need to manually refill Dead-Eye's bar with Tonics. Additionally, there is a percentage chance to get a small instant Dead-Eye refill whenever you score a kill. Horse cores and bars are also upgraded through use and refilled with Provisions and Tonics. However, you can also upgrade bars by bonding with your horse through praise and grooming, and these acts will also help keep core drain at a minimum. You can check out our beginner's guide here. 4. Not in online. So basically the only point of having good/bad honor is to get 100% on the Story Missions. Otherwise it doesn't serve a purpose.

  5. Same here. I dont understand why R* will not publish some iformation about the mechanics of it. I mean stuff like does the improvement apply to one weapon of each type (one pistol, rewolver, reapeter and carabine)? Im really getting into the springfield rifle but i dont want to loose the stats on my bolt action; will the stats be downgraded when i start to use the springfield over bolt action? Does it only apply for just ONE weapon etc.

  6. you should still get credit, go flip through the journal and check the completion status by tapping left on the d-pad

  7. Honor really doesn't mean anything really. I never sweat it. You tank it to get the 2 missions and it will come back if you just feed your horse, hunt, etc. Some people get obsessed with high honor but I personally never even check what mine is . Not like you get a bonus or anything for having high honor in online.

  8. Haha, imagine if they made an option for just female players, FvF. Everyone would be so catty and butt-holes to each other. That, or we'd all pick herbs and talk smack over the mic. Seriously though, I definitely agree with private lobbies, or environments where you're just allowed to fish, or hunt, I dunno...

  10. Stop playing it if you think its trash? I don't take that view but I did get a bit burned out grinding the same content over and over and celebrate 2 weeks of going cold turkey today.

  11. $1000 would have been a nice "Thank you for continuing to play this piece of trash"

  12. It use to happen every now and than, now it seems to happen way to often. Are players really that soft? It is truly pathetic. As far as you know I could have gotten to my level via shooting cops in St Denis or just by hunting. It is truly annoying that you get voted out immediately when you enter a lobby or when you get MVP or top 3 in a match. Why isn't there a veto option ? Why should I have to go back to free roam and try to find another lobby? If you are that much of a "kitty", maybe YOU should leave to find another lobby. I have voiced my opinion to R* several times already. This kicking feature shouldn't even be an option.

  13. I've not been on this forum for a few weeks, or played RDR2 online for even longer, I've just dropped in to see whether R* have finally started to listen and act upon the feedback from people who are being griefed. I see we still have the 'join another lobby' brigade who think that players who just want to play their game in peace should move on , rather than anything being done to stop the griefers wrecking other people's games in the first place. Seems R* are still happy with this state of affairs.

  14. I started out fishing, I caught over 4,000 fish, I will help you out with some tips and techniques in a bit, when I can get back on in a little while. So the basics have been covered, get your pole, go to a spot and cast out, Now, a few things you should know. Use dead eye to see where the fish you want to catch are. Any lure will work in all bodies of water When you see for example large mouth bass, but also pickerel, blue gills, bull headds, etc.. you want to use your lure to avoid catching the smaller fish, unless of course that is what you want, but if you focus on the larger more expensive fish, ie: Bass, Trout, Salmon, which pay around $2.00 or more each, compared to the smaller fish that pay around $1 each or so. Also, once you feel the fish bite, on xbox press R trigger to set the hook, then left stick down to keep your tip up, also, when you feel the fish fighting, dont reel in,once they stop, reel and every few seconds flick your left stick down to pull up on the rod to bring the fish closer to you, and when the fish starts fighting again, especially in the landing sequence, DO NOT REEL, or you will lose your lure, it stinks to lose one, so just dont reel when they fight. Also, you have no minimap while fishing, do yourself a favor, after each time you catch and hold up a fish and it says press (a on xbox) to put it in your satchel, use that few seconds after pressing A to check your map, it doesnt happen everytime but people sometimes do walk up behind you and it never ends well, so....just check your map IMO. Lets see what else, ok, West of Valentine in the Dakota river are pike, they pay the most, $7.50 I think, you can steal a cart from an npc and bringit with you, back it upto aq rock and load it up I had 6 in mine and one on my horse last time I did that. Shady belle, to the south along the water there is a spot where you can catch both small and large mouth bass, plus gators, and birds, and then about 1 minute down the coast away from Shady belle towards catfish jacksons, you can also catch 10 steel head trout, so if you do the loop, it is about $75.00 each time and that is fish only, you will also get a few turkey, a few boar, deer, gators, birds, possums, racoons, etc.. so it can easily be 150$ trip and it doesnt take very long, just my experience anyway, I like that little loop it is close to Rhodes and whenever I need money, I will just run this loop a few times and boom $500 in no time at all, plus Shady belle is a hideout you get to clear several times a session and there is a pawn in rhodes to buy the few items you get from looting all the bodies. Same can be said of Flat rock lake, from Clemmens point to where the lake turns towards Gil's place, and same deal 3 fish plus lake sturgeon, deer boars, etc.., and lastly back near Valentine south of the pike area, just exactly south of cumberland falls, there is a nice spot where you can grab 10 sockeye salmon quickly, they pay well and it is a quick trip to Valentine, so those are my tips, things to look out for and things to try for yourself, good luck to you.

  15. Overpowered Players & Rockstar's Enabling This game is rife with people who gain outstandingly unfair advantages based on their ability to spend money. The amount of times I have outplayed people and still ended up on the ground is incalculable, & it doesn't seem to be letting up, either. Rockstar must crack down on their own reluctance to launch the full game, and massively overhaul many of this game's features, including, but not limited to: 1. The Hat Perk 2. Explosive Rounds 3. Paint it Black 4. Slippery Bastard 5. General failures of the server to land two posse members on the same team in any given game-mode. If Rockstar doesn't take their game seriously enough to give players a fair shake, they should cancel it outright. The time for full release is now. Rockstar cannot expect skilled gamers to put their rage aside and simply spend money in order to be combat-effective against players who have spent more. That is the essence of greed, tasteless trickery, & corruption. For a game that is centered on the take-no-prisoners attitude of The Wild West, this game absolutely takes prisoners, in that, your only means of winning is to pay more. Rockstar has a ton of making up to do, and they must act immediately to ensure a true vision of lawlessness in this game. The only law in it? Whoever pays the most wins. Signed, a disheartened fan of this series P.S. Money shouldn't be Rockstar's motive
