  1. I'm going to preface this with the disclaimer that i am NOT talking about anyone in particular, here on these forums or elsewhere. But it is very comical/sad watching all of these folks "grind" through all of the content as fast as possible, to unlock every feature and reward, before everyone else... and then spend the next 6 months complaining because they are bored with it and expect R* to have the next update ready to go, NOW! (and it's R*s fault that they ran out of content) I'm not bored, I'm in no hurry. I hunt and trade for a while, go catch a bounty or two, stop by the saloon and play a few hands of poker, maybe go find a treasure, clear a few camps if I spot them, craft a bit at camp and pet the dog... etc. I guess, I just don't get the need to "grind" and certainly don't get "grinding" to "complete" everything as soon as humanly possible. It just seems so very counter to "fun". As for me, it will take me probably months to complete all three roles. And I am absolutely, 100% fine with that. Obviously, ymmv.

  2. I like that you can do the legendary bounty solo, at least the first two difficulty settings, I haven't gone beyond that,. I really enjoyed it and it gave me quite a payout as well when I managed to deliver all four of them alive. I didn't even need the bounty wagon, the game lets you catch them one by one and provides you with a prison wagon to take them to. I like this. AND the fact that there's no timer. Keep 'em coming, R*!

  3. I know everyone is saying how the Black Arabian is just the most expensive but not the best horse in the game (some even say it's one of the WORST) because it's so skittish and tiny and whatnot, and it seems to have become almost a "no-go" to be out and about on this horse. Honestly tho? I've been playing the game from the beginning and I bought the Black Arabian as soon as I could and I've now tried out a number of other horses and, as much as I love my Good Guy Kladruber my Black Arabian is still my go-to horse for everything. I've even figured out how to do bounty hunter missions with him: Everyone knows that, as soon as you've hogtied your bounty, a bunch of NPCs show up and start shooting at you. This is where my trusted companion used to buck and run, but no more - I just whistle for him RIGHT AFTER I've put the bounty on his back, and he stays right where he is and I can either dispose of the NPCs on the ground or get up on my horse and do it from horseback. I do the same when I use him for hunting - I just hit the "calm" button as soon as I hear wolves howling and he doesn't buck me, only when I don't manage to shoot all the wolves quickly does he get skittish, but my Turkoman and Kladruber get skittish at around the same point in time, so there's no noticable difference to me. (Keep in mind I'm talking about all this with MAXIMUM Black Arabian horse bonding.) I do agree that he's rather tiny and can look like a pony sometimes but he's FAST, and that makes up for it, especially when you have to go all across the map to get at your bounty target. And I like that he basically squeezes through everything and jumps over everything. Sure we crash from time to time but it's not nearly as many times as I crash when I use my Turkoman - that horse is cool and all but oh so bulky. And the Kladruber is even worse in that regard, lol. (I do love the big horses though, don't misunderstand me.) So yeah, I love my Black Arabian horse and I think it gets way too much "nope". But then I also suffer from anxiety and get skittish at things, maybe that's why I relate so much to the horse and can sense when he's about to have enough and that's why we get along so well? Hmm.

  4. Hahaha yes i have been waiting for the moaning that there is nothing to do again and rockstar are so rubbish blah blah.i wont lie i have rushed this update and wished i had slowed down but the game is so good and i enjoy meeting new people to play the game with.meet new people and the game changes slightly.i like to help others progress and not get bullied in game.this update couldnt of been better and rockstar are right to take there time with a game like this.i had 2 wks off work ill so kinda went through it all but my advice is do not rush.its so fun and money is now so much easier to come by.i kinda wish rockstar didnt hype up any update and just dropped it as a surprise coz its the long drawn out process that keeps players hooked and wanting more.that summer update talk for months was annoying.lets just let it happen naturally and enjoy the game.

  5. I dunno..... I'm not rushing things and I'm finding them to be entertaining enough. I only find things get grindy when I make them that way (e.g. trying to knock missions out one after the other in rapid succession, etc.). It's not a race for me to get to the end. ....but that's just me.

  6. Personally, I think they provided a very robust campaign that I spent many hours on and to be quite honest, still haven't completed. GTAV was very similar as I spent a ton of hours in that story before venturing into GTAO. Even without the online content, these games stand alone quite well as excellent single player campaigns IMO, rich with detail and content. I get that you don't like the fact that they don't release additional content for the main story, but IMO that doesn't mean that they are not sincere about their love for creating single player experiences. ......and IMO, R* creates some of the best. The success of both GTAV and RDR2 reflect that I believe. Both the GTAV and RDR2 campaigns have tons of content IMO. I never played either thinking that it was necessarily lacking. Personally, I'll usually play SP campaigns once through and then move on to the online component or to another game. .....perhaps revisiting the campaign again at some point. My point is, it's not as if anyone could ever honestly say GTAV or RDR2 was ever lacking content IMO although I get that some would want that experience to continue through DLC. Well, you can't use the things you acquire in the main story in the online mode so anyone who wants that fancy new supercar in GTAO is still going to have to buy it in the online game. ......using in-game cash or Shark Cards. I have doubts they had fears that adding these things to the story would cut into that action but who knows. Could also be that they simply felt that they had added enough to the main story and cut additional content support/resources for it. ....but then again, here we are with a game that is one of the most successful GaaS models in the industry. R* continues to add content to it and folks keep coming back for more. MTXs are what fuel that content so whether one chooses to purchase Shark Cards, Gold Bars or simply grind for the in-game currency, we all get to enjoy the benefits. As far as the game worlds, GTAV and RDR2 are not small by any stretch so I believe they still have plenty to provide as they are filled with additional features and content. In regard to map expansions in RDO specifically, this is what they had to say about it in the linked interview: “It’s not in the plans right now, because there’s still so much we can do with the world as it currently is, as we’ve touched on before,” Butchard says. “We’re building that foundation just now. So no plans just at the moment for that.” I hadn't heard R* ever claim that they had commitments to expand the map although some have speculated. All in all, I get why some would enjoy DLC and additional content drops in the campaign but I also understand (and appreciate) R*'s vision for RDO as their focus in that respect. It is essentially the vehicle for the players own continuing story in the RDR2 world.

  7. I'm liking my Breton at the moment but I do miss the speed and handling of my Black Arabian especially as I want to try it with the Nacogdoches saddle now I know how good it is. People like to knock whatever is the best on paper to give credence to them making an alternative, less obvious, choice. Ironically though in this case that has made the Arabian a pretty rare sight in the RDO world, everybody riding around on the frontier pursuits horses. Yes, it can be a bit skittish but its nowhere near as bad as the red chestnut arabian nor as bad as people make out. The Kladruber bucked me many a time when I was using it and even the Breton bucked me on the wolf man bounty if more than a couple of wolves got close (and wouldn't return to me, leaving me to get savaged). None of them are perfect, you have to work around the flaws that they have, whatever horse you use. I'm totally with you, I still think the Black Arabian is an outstanding horse.

  9. I just can't buy this talk about how much they supposedly love single play when they aren't doing much of anything for the single player portions of their most recent games, though. Even if it was minor stuff like new weapons, outfits and horses we could buy at shops, it would have a ringing of truth to it. But it's all a matter of money. Even if they won't admit it, it's why they stopped making new cars and weapons from GTA Online available in GTA V. Why bother playing GTA Online for that fancy new supercar when I can buy it with the billions I've gained from the stock market as Mike, Frank, or Trevor in GTA V? They stopped making new content available in GTA V because it was cutting into their sales of shark cards in GTA Online and they're not doing it in RDR2 because they know it will cut into their sales of whatever RD Online's equivalent is. I'm also taking any claims of expanding RD Online's world with a grain of sand. They said the same thing about GTA Online back when it was first released, but here we are today and GTA Online still encompasses the same Los Santos and Blaine County that it did at the beginning. It isn't free when I have to pay Sony or Microsoft a fee to access it.

  10. So, when I posted I didnt have the level 20 Breton, now I do. This horse is great. I love the Kladruber, but wanted a most stable temperament, and although the breton is better and faster I did get bucked off around 4 wolves so it isnt perfect. The Kladrubers have a better look I think, taller anyway, but the Breton is my new go to for bounties and most things really. The handling is noticeably better than the kladruber and faster. I even like the look of the darker dapple, it looks very similar to my Kladruber, kind of a blue hue. I did buy level 1 Kladrubers for the all white and black coats, but all others were level 20 the Criollo and Breton are both level 20, the Criollo is faster and all that but I dont love the look or the size.
