  1. ...as I mentioned above, PCs and consoles have their pros and cons. It just depends on what aspects matter most to you. My only advice would be not to get distracted or jaded based on others biases and so on. As for monthly fees, on PS I just pay for the subscription each year since it's a hell of a lot cheaper than paying monthly or even quarterly. ....IIRC, it's $10/month, $25/qtr and $60/yr. If you wait until the holidays, you can take advantage of their sales. I just re-subscribed at the end of November for $45 which will take me through the end of this year. .....$15 off the regular price. I just watch for the sales and buy a subscription at that point. It gets added at the end of your current yearly sub. When I buy my new subscription (during the Black Friday sale or whenever), it doesn't start until my current sub runs out which is always in Dec since I stay current. .....hope that makes sense.
  2. I mentioned it before but I used to build my own PCs for gaming and been a PC gamer since the 80's. I also worked in the industry since that time. .....I retired after 30 years. There are pros and cons to all platforms. While I found I could future proof my PCs to an extent, there were never any guarantees that requirements, technology, etc. wouldn't change. I found myself upgrading one or two components about once every two years or so not to mention the drivers, OS and related issues to contend with depending on the game. Building, upgrading, etc. was just part of the hobby though and while fun, it's simply something I grew tired of over time. A big part of that was my fault as I wanted to get the most out of some of the new games that were coming out. That's when I decided to go with a console. .....PS3 in this case. I liked the fact that I could just plop down on the couch, load up a game and play. I also liked the idea of having hardware that had a ~7 year life cycle and developers making games optimized for that. I bought a PS4 at launch and will buy a PS5 when I can get my hands on one. .....not because I necessarily feel PS is better than MS but it's what I'm comfortable with and where all my gaming friends are. I'm not sure where the dig about 30FPS came from on the PS5. There are games right now that are backward compatible that are 60FPS on PS5. Just saw an article about Ghost of Tsushima running 60. It's true that some PS4 games are locked at 30 but some devs are taking advantage of the backward compatibility enhancements and making the changes while others are not. ....a few even announcing PS5 versions being released this year. There's even talk of some exceeding 60FPS. Anyhow, I'm in the same boat as you as I'm not looking for the absolute best graphics, etc. What I say I do miss are the milsim titles, flight sims, etc. While some indie devs are looking to bridge the gap to bring some of those genres to console, we've been lacking good titles in those areas. Personally, I'm quite happy with the performance the PS5 delivers and I look forward to a long and exciting run with it. For all the rest I would just say this..... Compare the pros and cons of each. Figure out which ticks the most boxes on your list of things you find important and decide what works best for you. ....leave the sophomoric jibes and attitude at the door.

  4. "Dude".... You're barking up the wrong tree with that pretentious "PC master race" argument. That's not what this is about. You do you. No one is trying to convince you otherwise. No need to knock others for choosing to play on console or whatever. ......that's just silly to be honest.
  5. @MuscleS As long as you're not trying to sell something or promote your channel, etc., it's fine.
  6. Welcome to the forum. Platform in this case just means what you're playing on. It would either mean PC, PS4, Xbox, etc. There is no crossplay in this game so thats kind of important for folks to know if they are going to play with you. I'm on PS4 for example. Glad to see you here. I'm past the half century mark myself and all the folks I game with are thereabouts in age. Some are also new to gaming themselves but taking to it like a fish to water. .....good times. Have fun!
  7. ........like a pleb? Are we in grade school or something?
  8. Thanks man. I'm buying a PS5 but either way, I think this is a good sign. I'm quite certain demand has dropped off because of the Christmas crunch and supply may finally be able to catch up. I just hope the scalpers are stuck with a bunch of inventory they can't sell. .....or at least have to for a discount.

  10. I have a friend I used to work with that started in that company as they were just getting things going here in the U.S. I was invited to take a position there myself but decided on an early retirement instead. Anyhow, we have a 32" TCL that my son uses and my Dad bought a 52" I believe. If I were looking for a budget TV to replace our 58", I'd definitely at them as a contender. .....hell, I'd consider hem regardless as I believe they are at that tipping point where you're certainly getting more than what you pay for in regards to quality and features. I'd probably stick with the Roku powered models as I think you still have more options there than the Android offerings but I can't say for sure. Either way, I'd just make sure to read the reviews and get an idea if TCL is right for you.

    Cyberpunk 2077

Nah.... As someone who played GRW since release, it didn't have that many bugs. At least not on console. The fact is some just didn't have the same level of issues with RDO as others seemed to have. I know that while I shared some, I didn't have a lot of others. PC was a different story.
  12. Have you looked into the TCL offerings? They are the next up and coming TV manufacturer and are getting get reviews on some of their models. ....and they're one of the best deals out there like Visio used to be before they became more popular. ....even LG back in the day.
  13. What platform?
  14. Welcome back. I've been away from the game too for along time. If and when I get my hands on a PS5, my plans were to spark up the 'ol game again and maybe get back into it.

    Cyberpunk 2077

The dead giveaway it isn't is that beyond the bugs and performance issues lies a decent game. ......and the refunds.
  16. You may want to include your platform (e.g. PS, XB or PC).

    Cyberpunk 2077

I'm sticking with it. I bought it digitally so I can get a refund but even with the performance issues and bugs, I'm still enjoying it. I'll be getting a PS5 when I can get my hands on one ak I'll either continue playing it in that or (if I finish before then), I'll probably do another playthrough when they launch the next gen enhanced version later in 2021.
  18. ......PC has been famously weak on that side regardless. That fact wasn't lost on me even some 13 years ago when I stopped building gaming rigs and switched over to a PS3. Even on console people are always finding ways to use exploits, troll others, etc. ......or hardware hacks like modded controllers, lag switches and the use of popular devices like those from Chronus Max, etç. that allow you to do things that are either highly difficult or otherwise not possible in the game using standard, "legal" equipment. While largely frowned upon, those devices were created to be undetectable by the game developers and console manufacturers. It's hard to prove someone uses one but there is no denying their widespread use. Sorry you're having so much trouble but these hacks in RDO, GTAO, etc. are something PC players have learned to deal with. You either just move on to another session or give up the game if it's that much of a bother.
  19. Hi @Tas and welcome to the site. A couple things...... RDR2.org is not affiliated with R* or Take Two Interactive in a any way. I'm only telling you this as your post seems to be addressing them directly. I'm also guessing you're playing on PC? .....might want to clarify that for folks if they try to provide suggestions. If you want to file a complaint directly, you can use the following link to their support: https://support.rockstargames.com/categories/115001624507?redirect_lang=en_us&_ga=2.198552044.232883861.1608135468-1108762993.1580766852 I'll go ahead and move this thread to the Online section as this is more of a complaint about griefers than a technical issue. I wish you luck but since PCs release, hacking has been a big issue and only become worse as people learn how the game works, etc. The only suggestion I have is to exit the server when you are teleported and find a new one. RDR2 / RDO has been out for PC for over a year and hackers have always been a problem from what I understand. On console, you're more apt to run into griefers or those taking advantage of exploits (if any). .....hacks are rare IME on these platforms.
  20. i had it happen long ago in RDO too. I just recreated them.

    Cyberpunk 2077

I'm fine with waiting. I'm still having fun with the game as is. The thing is, no one has an excuse with this game because if they don't like it, simply get a refund. .....and if you can't through MS / Sony, CDPR will even help you out with that.
  22. You're right, I didn't care. Seriously though, I read your post and was looking out for any news of the issue but didn't see anything. Glad it worked out. At least your console didn't die on you like mine did last night.

IMPORTANT UPDATE December 14, 2020 Dear gamers, First of all, we would like to start by apologizing to you for not showing the game on base last-gen consoles before it premiered and, in consequence, not allowing you to make a more informed decision about your purchase. We should have paid more attention to making it play better on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Second, we will fix bugs and crashes, and improve the overall experience. The first round of updates has just been released and the next one is coming within the next 7 days. Expect more, as we will update frequently whenever new improvements are ready. After the holidays, we’ll continue working — we’ll release two large patches starting with Patch #1 in January. This will be followed by Patch #2 in February. Together these should fix the most prominent problems gamers are facing on last-gen consoles. We will be informing you about the contents of each patch ahead of their release. They won't make the game on last-gen look like it’s running on a high-spec PC or next-gen console, but it will be closer to that experience than it is now. Finally, we would always like everyone who buys our games to be satisfied with their purchase. We would appreciate it if you would give us a chance, but if you are not pleased with the game on your console and don’t want to wait for updates, you can opt to refund your copy. For copies purchased digitally, please use the refund system of PSN or Xbox respectively. For boxed versions, please first try to get a refund at the store where you bought the game. Should this not be possible, please contact us at [email protected] and we will do our best to help you. Starting from today, you can contact us for a week up until December 21st, 2020. Humbly Marcin Iwiński, Adam Kiciński, Adam Badowski, Michał Nowakowski, Piotr Nielubowicz, Piotr Karwowski P.S. PC gamers will also be getting regular updates and fixes improving the game. Cyberpunk 2077

Well, have to say that it's a good game so far. Played at least 3 hours and still have the training wheels on up to a point with the tips, tutorials, etc. Had a blue screen after two hours, loaded back in and then another in roughly the same spot. ......loaded In again and didn't have any problem for the rest of the time I was on (about an hour. I did have two glitches where one guy was sitting on top is something that wasn't there and chopsticks being suspended in the air. I'm on an original PS4 and it still runs ok. Graphics are neutered obviously but stutters are not that often nor game breaking. There are frame rate drops occasionally but I'm surprised it runs as well as it does on this old gen. I do have an external SSD I'm running it from which probably helps (it does with other games). Anyhow, so far its not a disappointment at all to me. The game is still not done introducing me to all of the activities, systems, customizations, upgrading, crafting, etc. so there's still a lot to learn.
