I found one just by chance tonight.

He's right, it doesn't allow you to open a ticket. I could have sworn it did before. All it says is "The most effective way to report a player group is through the in-game menu. You can also report a player group using the tools on Social Club." I would still open a ticket using one of the other selections and then let them know. Ask for detailed instructions as to how to do this via the Social Club if that is the only way because it's obviously not apparent to me how to through that site.

There's nothing to develop. PS5 will be backward compatible with PS4 titles. I'm not so sure about a remastered version of RDR2 for PS5 but who knows. I think there may have been more urgency to release a remastered version that would work on PS4 since that platform didn't have backward compatibility with PS3 titles. They stood to lose a good portion of their player base as PS owners made the upgrade. Now, PS4 players will simply be able to continue playing RDO on their PS5. .....perhaps down the road but even so, I don't think that will stifle RDO's continued development and progress.

I had forgotten about this thread but yeah, in all fairness you said "30% of people who have bought the game" so it appears we're in agreement as that was the point I was addressing.

In Free Roam, there is only auto-aim. There are no other session options at the moment as their vision for Free Roam doesn't currently include implementing such. That's not to say that they won't at some point as they have left that door open in past interviews. Currently, free aim is only available in the form of PvP events.

Recent increase in player hostility
Kean_1 replied to Senator Goob's question in Questions & Answers
......no need to be insulting about it. Let's keep the discussion civil please. -
Well, speaking as a very casual player of RDO, I even find the pacing too quick in that regard too.
-
.......btw, if no one else responds with a potential solution or answer as to why you are not receiving XP for these actions, my suggestion would be to submit a trouble ticket with R* Support: https://support.rockstargames.com/categories/115001624507?redirect_lang=en_us&_ga=2.45966445.858930266.1578507210-1990348937.1578507210 ....and please, turn off the caps lock.

I agree. I think they made it too easy to level up in roles because even as a very casual RDO player, I still find it's easy to gain a lot of ground in this regard during a session. Now, if content releases were more frequent, then I might see the progression as being more appropriate but as it is, folks are simply completing these roles and are left with a lul between releases. The pacing should be adjusted in either case IMO.

No, I guess you wouldn't. It's not important anyhow. .....carry on.

I used to play games like the OP Flashpoint series but I say milsim-ish because I'm also including titles like the early R6 series and similar. Games where lethality is more unforgiving / realistic, etc. than twitch shooters. GRW was the closest thing we had on console in a long while and certainly on PS4. At least PS3 had OPF, MAG.... I also play DayZ quite a bit since it's release on PS4. I gave up PC when the PS3 released and with that decision, I lost the ability to play milsim titles like SQUAD and ARMA 3. ......but, DayZ is now on PS4 and I can't wait until Insurgency Sandstorm arrives early this year. GRB was a bust and tossed the GRW formula out the window (a decision Ubi now regrets). I'm hoping more devs of these more tactical / milsim-like titles make the jump over to console in the future. Perhaps it will finally get the attention of AAA devs that there is an untapped market in this genre.

I played PvP briefly in the beginning but I never liked R*s interpretation of gunplay mechanics, combat movement, bulet-sponge damage mechanics, etc. It simply too arcadey for me. Seems it whoever is better at flicking the controller, rolling around, jumping, etc. ......twitch shooter stuff. Personally, I've never been good at PvP in such games myself although I do quite well in more milsim-ish tactical shooters, etc. Luckily, RDO has so much more going for it in the game world that makes up for these undesirable aspects IMO. If R* games didn't, I wouldn't be playing them.

Yes, thanks. I'll change it when I get to my PC later.

The Online forum includes PC and those updates include bonuses, gifts, multipliers, new items, etc. that PC players get as well. They are not being left out in that regard AFAIK. .....but as mentioned, the weekly routine was interrupted and we didn't see anything for a little while. Used to be every Tuesday. We finally got our first Tues drop today so maybe the schedule will be back to normal now. As far as the Online forum, that is for discussion about online regardless of the platform. The PC sub forum was meant to address PC-specific issues, discussion and such.

Just to be fair, it's not the gaming community so much as it is a few bad apples that can spoil the experience for most.

R* has already said many months ago that they have no interest in splitting up the player base in Free Roam at least for the foreseeable future. That means no private sessions, hardcore / free aim lobbies, etc. Right, wrong or indifferent, that's just the way it's gonna be for now. Personally, if I were as passionate about free aim, I would see these FA events in PvP as a good sign that they are perhaps quite popular that could eventually lead to a hardcore / FA session in the future if they ever decide to go that route. Fixes continue that they are able to implement on their end. We only tend to see those that they have to push to the players in the form of hotfixes, TUs, etc. Often, we never hear anything from R* about those tweaks, changes and fixes they make behind the scenes. It's not until the community notices something. IMO, the feedback is extremely important and I think that some of the changes they have made over the last 1+ years has show that they do listen to the input. Many of the popular requests have been implemented in mechanic changes, etc. As for fixes, R*'s communication has always been lacking in this regard but I think it's vital that people still submit their feedback and problems to them.

......totally missed the part about you playing on PC so take that into account when reading my last reply.

I would strongly suggest you report them using the R* Support website. They suggest going through the Social Club but to be honest, I don't know exactly where to do this through that site. I would simply open a ticket and let them know they used racial slurs and threats / suggestions of suicide. I am sure someone will respond with instructions how to report this or perhaps they will handle it from there, provide suggestions, etc. In either case, most gaming companies take these types of things quite seriously although this may be a case of he said/ she said given there is no evidence. Next time I would suggest taking video evidence if possible as that would provide the proof you need for them to take action. If you're on XB1 or PS4 and they send you a message with slurs, threats, etc., you can submit that through MS / Sony and they will act definitely on it as mentioned. ......but I wouldn't go at of your way to bait anyone as that could blow up in your face as I've seen it happen to people before. To be honest, none of this is worth spending any more time in the game putting up with this kind of behavior. As @HuDawg said, you're simply giving them what they want. When you leave the session without saying or doing anything, they are left with nothing but perhaps a brief satisfaction of driving you away I guess. .......but when you give in and especially express your frustration, hurt feelings, anger, etc., it only invites more of the same behavior. In fact, it can also escalate to more harassment by them trying to follow you between sessions, etc. XB1 and PS4 have features that can help mitigate this kind of harassment and I would suggest using those if possible. I always block players like this so they cannot send me messages, join my Communities, see my activity, etc. It may not prevent them from being in the same session in the future but I've never ran across someone I have already blocked so I don't know (PS4). I will say that if anyone ever follows you to this forum (it has happened), let me or one of the other mods know ASAP. Report any PMs, posts ,etc. and we will take care of it. The owner has a zero tolerance policy regarding harrassment, personal attacks or any kind of behavior like that against our fellow members.

Yeah, I wouldn't be playing either if I couldn't use the MTU trick. I don't play with randoms beyond these forced private sessions or my invite-only session with friends to play missions, heists, etc. Even with the MTU setting I still have other join about 10-20 % of the time but they either leave or just do their own thing as they seem to be using the same setting to accomplish the same thing.

In one of the updates leading up to the last big one if I recall. They did a little tweaking and apparently increased the internal magazine size, etc. for some.
