  1. .....we use the term "muffins" in the U.S. too. Blueberry muffins are one of my favorites as well as banana nut. Cupcakes are, well....muffin-like cakes as far as I'm concerned, usually topped with frosting, etc. I'm not a big cupcake nor regular cake fan myself. I'm sure there are ones that blur the lines though.
  2. ......you can operate trains in Free Roam....at least on console. I've never noticed an option to switch tracks although perhaps that only appears where appropriate?
  3. There was an issue where the bonding level would reset randomly but that was supposed to be patched. In online, I still had the problem after the fix but it was rare.
  4. Sounds like this may be another isolated issue you're experiencing. Sucks but doesn't mean R* is removing things from the game and so on.
  5. If things simply worked as they should I'd wager many if not most would be fine with that. I'm not saying more options like that aren't necessarily welcome or a good idea but that's not the driving factor right now. Its the disconns, animals spawns, loading issues, balancing / tweaking, etc. Personally, I don't want to load into a private session just to hunt and then have the same issue of a lifeless world when I'm in a public one. I can already do that for the most part by loading up a legendary bounty. They need to fix the root of the problem IMO. Also, if private sessions worked the same as GTAO, a lot of content would end up getting locked out to those who don't wish to join public servers. Personally, I'm cool with the Free Roam for all with emphasis on mechanics that help mitigate griefing as they have been doing. I can still participate in nearly all activities including all roles, etc. I know some have had the problem to one extent or another before the last big update but for many of us, it was working fine before. .....something was changed or broke and I'm guessing it was a result of optimization / performance tweaks gone wrong.
  6. That is the canned response they had been sending to a lot of folks lately including myself.
  7. Yeah, I saw this thread and although the OP may be a PC user, these types of issues people have been experiencing with black screens, errors, etc. are not necessarily unique to that platform. I usually move things that are definitely PC-specific like certain setting, hardware, PC related issues, etc. which is why I left it here. .....but I do revisit if they tend to go that route as well. Either way it's basically a moot point as the OP has already said it was his own fault so I didn't see a need to.
  8. @FruitOfTheLum also mentioned that and they are on XB1 as well. I'll wager that is the SP content being added discussed in the weekly update. ......not likely to do anything with animal spawns, etc. Those issues I'm guessing would be on R* side anyhow vs. having to push an update / patch to consumers.

  10. I appreciate that and yeah, the community is what makes the forum which was the point I was trying to make. This forum isn't huge but its growing and remains active. The community here has set the tone and it's a positive one. .....as mods, we simply try to help maintain that by assisting fellow members, help nip problems in the bud, etc.
  11. I play on our 58" monitor (from a large tech company) that I used to work at for nearly 30 years. It's 7 years old and other than some features that I never had a use for (cloud) and frankly never worked right from the beginning, it's been an absolute tank in regard to reliability. The picture still looks great and there are no issues with the quality / performance. I'm quite happy with it. I'm not sure what route we would go if we had to replace it but I'm not one to spend tons of money on the absolute latest in technology. ....but I also don't go the cheap route just because a mfg offers all those other features. I'd rather have a solid product from a solid mfg with perhaps the not so latest features at a decent price which still provides a great level of performance I can be happy with. My mentality regarding computers was the same back when I was still building them. ......some other tech as well as a matter of fact (e.g speakers / sound systems, etc.).
  12. I've walked away from forums like that. Im over the half century mark myself so I can relate as to how the gaming community, etc. has changed. The temperament of this community here and general maturity of it is why I stuck around. I also like that they don't tolerate some of the same stuff that goes on in other forums, social media sites, etc. which is why I accepted being a mod when approached. Personally, that's why I am quick to remind some (the very few that do) that what they may be used to getting away with on Reddit, etc. is not necessarily appropriate here. .....especially when it comes to disrespecting others of the community. I've got a real pet peeve about that. When people here continually comment about how welcoming and friendly the community and atmosphere here is, it's good to protect that IMO.
  13. Cool. That's good to hear.
  14. That early shape would be the Colt Model 1900 which later Browning used as the foundation of the 1911 design. The M1899 in RDR2 is the equivalent of the FN M1900 which Browning also designed.
  15. Well, as long as you get a decent painter and the body guys can install the new bumper properly you should be good to go. When my wife got rear ended in her Forester, the body guys didn't really install the bumper as well as I liked and even the paint could have used another pass or two IMO. .....but she couldn't even notice so I left it as is. If it were my car I would have taken it back but then again, I'm kinda OCD like that with my vehicles. Still sucks though.
  16. I adopted from a meme that I started seeing 17+ years ago that had the tag line "o 'rly". Thought it was funny and started using it as my avatar in various places online.

    Hi All

    Hi Oscar and welcome.
  18. @Parzival, that's wild man. btw, I edited my post earlier to try not to take away from the OPs post but looks like you beat me too it.
  19. Ouch. Bumper and/or panel(s)?
  20. Nice. That really sucks when some folks simply can't just move on with life. Luckily, it doesn't happen often around here that we have to address "issues" as the community is generally pretty mellow, friendly and just cool. ....but yeah, my day is starting out just fine today.
  21. We can't access them either so I guess the take-away from all this is to not use the tilde character in titles.
  22. Ahhhh.... That too. I was already well in my teens by the time it came out.
  23. I guess it's just us old farts that get 80's movie trivia like that.
  24. I haven't been able to post YT links in Communities nor the msg app for as long as I remember. Perhaps the latter I could but I always remember having problems with it. It would screw up the link and/or add "***" in.
  25. As much as I know you guys are joking, I'd appreciate if we can keep threats of physical violence out of the discussion please. Thanks. ....or longer or who knows. Again, there really isn't any news yet on this front. I've even been trying to get some kind of acknowledgment of the issue rom Support or confirmation they are working on it with no luck. I do recall what I thought was a brief mention of it in one of the other patches but nothing really acknowledging the problem.
