I use the the MTU setting on my PS4 to force myself into a public session without other players and that is where I do all of my business missions and such that I would otherwise have to do with all the griefers. I don't play GTAO in open sessions with other players. Either private, invite only or public with just me or a couple other randoms in a session. It's funny, when I force the MTU settings sometimes randoms will get thrown in but they usually are all just doing the same thing so we all leave each other alone. ......but if the population begins to increase, I create a new session. Typically I'm by myself though.

What do you mean by cycle? When you join a Free Roam game you are simply dropped into the session populated by other players at whatever the in-game time is. The time remains constant (uninterrupted) for all players while in Free Roam. ....maybe I'm misunderstanding your question.

You ask "is this stuff being monitored". Monitored in what way? Here at this site or if R* is monitoring gameplay? I'm guessing the screen capture you original shared was the players name / posse name. You can use that to report them via R* Support. There is even an option to report individual players or groups: https://support.rockstargames.com/categories/115001624507?step=dea4b872 btw, I removed the screen capture you posted because of the circumstances regarding this thread you created. We have a "name & shame" policy here. We don't allow members to call others out for cheating, hacking, etc. regardless of the evidence. We always suggest folks to go through proper channels and contact R* Support in those cases. However, any harassment or otherwise inappropriate behavior is experienced here, we strongly suggest anyone affected or witnessing such things report it to RDR.org staff immediately and we will take care of it.

......and that's the only reason I can look past the over simplified gunplay / combat mechanics in R* games.

Yeah, no problem. It's fine for OT. I still play myself and have been to some degree or another since launch on PS3.

A lot of folks are traveling and/or on vacations during this time. I can see how they might want to have these events for a couple weeks or so to allow everyone a chance to share in the experience.

Yeah, last time before this it was a bear. Made driving difficult as some friends new to the online part were trying to get into some of the businesses and I was showing them the ropes. It got old kinda quick.

The year prior to this the snow never took a break in GTAO like it did this year. It got old pretty quick. ......so it seems they backed off a bit

I don't believe there is a blocking filter like that which R* uses. However, I do know PS4 and I believe XB1 have block features that may or may not keep players being paired with you in games. In PS4s case, there has been mixed information on this even from the source. Personally, I would not only use the in-game reporting feature but also the R* Support site. There is a way to create a trouble ticket spefically to report individual players or groups. As for what happens to those people when you report them, I have no idea. I'd imagine R* also looks at how many others reports there are against them, etc.

Seems the other person that had the issue found out it was their own mail box as they haven't been receiving other notifications either. Still checking to be sure but I would suggest looking to make sure your inbox isn't sorting this stuff out as junk, etc. ......the usual drill.

The OP says he bought the game to play with a few friends of his (revisiting it after having played it before). I'm assuming he means online but yeah, seems the radio presets, etc. work a little differently in story mode.

Unless I'm misunderstanding something, players in Defensive Mode should still show up on the player list in sessions. They will also show up on the radar as faded blips but they are still visible.

Noticed a couple other mentions and situations possibly related to something like this so I'm looking into it in case it's an issue on our end.

Part of that is that our friend is from a place where English isn't one of their official languages. ......but glad DMN was able to figure out what he needed to know and respond.

Yeah..... The usual "Tues Updates" schedule seems to have been thrown off since the last big update. They were posting bonuses, etc. every Tuesday for months before that almost like clockwork. Now it seems the updates are coming anytime during the week but sometimes not at all. I'm hoping next week (since its after the holidays) we will see them get back into a more predictable groove. .....I don't know about any kind of major update though coming that soon but yeah, a decent patch / adjustments would be nice.

It's a mod / hack as this is not something possible in the normal game.

Yup. GTAO is essentially the same as are their reasons I suspect.

Gotcha. You may also want to check the PC sub-forum as well for answers if no one else responds. ......and obviously, I would recommend reporting the issue(s) via R* Support.

Hi Colossal and welcome to the forums. Just to clarify, you're talking about the Moonshiner role? Might want to check some of the other threads as well as a few members have shared similar experiences.

When you say "you bastards" I hope you realize we are not R*. We are not affiliated with them nor Take Two which I've made clear in a couple posts in this thread. Also, the link I provided in an earlier remark has information regarding R* Support. I would recommend you contact them about it.
