  1. ......you're so deep.
  2. Yeah..... Especially where R* is concerned. I always wished they would put more focus in to building more complexity into their damage / gunplay mechanics. It's just too "arcadey" for me considering all the other level of detail these games have in their physics, player/NPC behaviors, driving mechanics, etc. If it wasn't for those other things, I wouldn't be able to look past it. I guess that's why I never could get on board with those looking for free aim in RDO. .....with all else not changing it seems pointless to me.
  3. .....I guess some see lines whee there are none but ok.
  4. I don't but yeah, conspiracy.
  5. .....assuming he didn't do something he wasn't supposed to.
  6. Happy New Year
  7. You can still play the new content that comes out and participate in the rewards, challenges, XP/$ multipliers, etc. ......and you still get the treasure maps every few levels.
  8. That's "no" (mispelled). Yeah, no. I do not work for R* just in case that wasn't clear. .......although I have been accused of it in the past by a former member.
  9. ....no sweat off my brow. I don't work for them. ๐Ÿ˜„
  10. EA? .....you mean R*, right?
  11. Didn't see anything mentioned officially for RDO yet but they did the same thing in GTAO: The rare Southern San Andreas snowfall phenomenon may have subsided, but forecasters do expect a return just in time to say goodbye to 2019.
  12. Meh..... I've never really been exposed when I did run out the clock. We've always been right there at the destination to make the delivery if needed. What I'm saying is that it would make more sense to reward players for completing missions faster or perhaps get rid of the time advantages entirely. .....as for encouraging bad behavior, RDO is far from a GTA experience in that regard. IMO / IME, R* has made quite a lot of changes to help mitigate the issue and/or to offer solutions for players to combat those kinds of encounters if they wish to. Sure, griefing still exists in some form or another and always will in this kind of "one size fits all" solutions but it could be much, much worse than it is.
  13. I'm not saying that suggestion specifically needs to be implemented. I'm just spitballin' ideas of other incentives besides gameplay advantages like higher ammo caps, etc. that can give high lvl players an advantage over everyone else. I'm saying that I get why R* doesn't offer that and glad they don't to be honest. ......but there's could be alternatives for incentives like cosmetics and such. As for more money, they could have more things to spend it on to pique people's interest. ....and Happy New Year to you too.
  14. Kinda backward IMO. Never understood this. Personally, I also hate running the timer down vs. simply playing the game. Just makes it seem so much more of a grind (for me at least). .......and not in a good way.
  15. I don't know what else to tell you then. You don't have to follow the advice but I will still recommend people submit tickets with them. If people stop voicing their opinions, submitting their issues and providing feedback to R*, how does that help? Seems you've had a bad experience with them and the game but that doesn't mean everyone will or has. ....sorry you're situation is what it is.
  16. I admit I fast forwarded through much of the video but yeah, I agree. I can't get on board with the idea that it is "easier" to make games now. Tech has changed and quite frankly, devs continue to push the boundaries of what is possible with the new consoles and PC hardware. Also, as far as charging more for titles these days, the fact is that game prices simply haven't risen that much compared to what they charged decades ago. ....and agin, the idea that they are somehow "easier" to make now so they should be cheaper is baseless IMO. Games back then were much more simplistic than they are now in many cases. I agree with you.
  17. From what I recall, the radio in your personal vehicle stays on the station you leave it on, will remain off if you left it off, etc. Random vehicles are set randomly. For the most part I find the radio station is where I left it although perhaps not always. ......on console (PS4) that is.
  18. Agreed. .....although I would have liked a lockbox option in the campaign to at least store unused weapons.
  19. ๐Ÿ˜„ I didn't think you were singling me out but you were speaking to those of us giving the viewpoints on the topic you criticized so yeah, I threw in my two cents since I shared in that feedback that seemed to bother you. Seems clear I pushed your buttons and sorry that I did as it was not my intention. Guess I'll be a little more conscious of what I bring up in our discussions next time. ....on a completely different topic, if you could do me a favor and not place all of those blank rows after your responses I would appreciate it. It makes threads longer than they need to be. I don't know if you noticed but I've edited several of your posts up to this point to remove those. It would save me the hassle of having to do that, thanks.
  20. Not really. ......unless the incentive is the enjoyment they get out of doing it. I would encourage folks to submit their experiences and suggestions via the R* Feedback page if they find folks are camping out at locations looking to stop deliveries, etc. It's obvious some of the mechanics need tweaking to make them more fair for business owners. https://www.rockstargames.com/reddeadonline/feedback?redirect_lang=en_us
  21. I think it's apparent that not all are experiencing the same issues as you or others in the same boat. It's unfortunate that you are but several of these issues you continue to mention are not necessarily shared by everyone on PC. All you can do is report these instances to R* Support or perhaps give the game a break for a while to see if some of these issues get worked out for those that are having them.
  22. .....on PC?
  23. Personally, I don't like the the idea of awarding high level players with more ammo, higher capacity on their weapons, etc. .....things that essentially give them even more of an advantage over lower level players. In that regard, I think R* did it right and I understand their reasoning for it. I mentioned it before but loyal players that spend a lot of time in the game are already rewarded for their persistence with bonuses like mission multipliers, freebies, challenges, etc. that others who don't frequent RDO miss out on. They are also making way more money and gold than other players do and yeah, they work for it. ........but that's what it's about IMO. Putting in the effort. Again, I think cosmetic or "prestige" items are fine. .......or even more in-game cash / gold rewards to buy more / new items. For instance, the treasure maps awarded every 5 lvls could be enhanced with much bigger payouts at certain milestones in leveling. IMO, they could do more for loyal players but I understand why they don't do some of things being asked here.
  24. I made the following sticky in the Online forum long ago. I continue to update it so if you ever want to see what you missed, look there for the regular update threads that I post regarding content releases, patches, etc.
  25. Meh..... Some of what he says has merit IMO but not all. As for growing up during the birth of the industry, he missed out on at least a decade of it. Those of us 50+ who were into that sort of thing would understand. I spent many a day in arcades playing pinball and some of the first video games. ......then first the consoles and PCs as they began to become mainstream. The fact is, while I have fond memories of some games from the past, most simply can't compare to some of the titles from today in relation to complexity and quality. Sure, some companies are becoming complacent and paying the price for it (e.g. Ubi with GR: Breakpoint). .....but not all. IMO, there is nothing wrong with GaaS if done properly and R* sets a benchmark in this regard. This is where I think he is completely wrong. R* wasn't complacent in throttling back their release of new games. They chose to spend years developing and refining their more recent titles and it shows. The idea was to create great games (a solid foundation) and continue to grow them by releasing new, free content. There's nothing lazy about it in this case and as much as some want to vilify MTXs, they are what keeps the content coming even for those that never buy into transactions. I'm not saying there are not examples of badly executed MTX models out there. .....there are plenty, but he paints things with a pretty broad brush. When a game has great bones, I don't necessarily want that to change or have to wait for a sequel to get new content. I'm ok with them building on that instead. I could go on....... Seems his experiences have mostly been with consoles. Those of us who had been PC gamers even since the early days can remember what it was like to deal with bugs, patches, etc. .....but yeah, cartridge games were more reliable although quite simplistic back then. Personally, while I don't condone devs releasing unfinished games, I do like that they have the ability to patch, update, deliver new content, etc. on modern consoles similar to how PCs have always been. There is an advantage there. All in all, I don't think the state of gaming is as bad as he makes it out to be.
