Everyone over here jumping on that "microtransactions are bad!" bandwagon like mindless sheep. I've probably dropped a couple hundred on gold bars. Not sure how much I've made in in game cash/gold. The grind for ranks isn't bad at all compared to a lot of other MMOs I've played. Seems like someone in this thread other than OP is hella salty about how the game is turning out.

It happens out in tumbleweed and outside of blackwater as well. Then I tried outside of strawberry, nothing until the sun came up.

My main issue is often at night there will literally be no animals. No birds, no rodents, nothing. I can still hear the sounds of animals but no animals to be found. Not sure if that's intended or a bug. But it's hella frustrating.

They do when you're in game chat. But most people don't notice it.

Finally the morning tail coat. Excuse me while I blast every bit of my cash on several of them and those boots.

Rank 167 or something. Played since two weeks after online launch. At first I only wanted rank 58 so I can get my foxtrotter horse. Didn't care after that but I still was hitting about 3-6 ranks per day (about 5-8 hours of playtime per day). Then I wanted dynamite arrows after a former friend screwed me over with them so I can exact my revenge upon him, and oohhhh how sweet it was. Totally worth the grind. So after 93 I stopped caring, cuz at that point ranks don't matter anymore. Strategy was running with a full posse and waiting out missions until the last 10-30s and hunting/gathering/screwing around during the wait. Hideouts whenever possible. Resetting achievements. Then we would do story missions and hold it for 30mins for that sweet $50 and 1098 exp (and then some depending on whether you afk'd or went hunting during the wait time). Typical session is either an all out warzone or pretty peaceful, seems 50/50 these days. Been running into more people that aren't sore losers and it's been pretty nice for a change. Half the time I'm solo and it's still pretty weird for me to be able to run by someone and them not instantly start shooting at me, but me being a paranoid freak will always be ready to blast someone into next week if they wanna try something. I feel the colored blips do help to an extent, people are less on edge. But that's just my experience with it. No I'm not actively still trying to rank but I still manage a rank or two a day despite that. I mostly play because I do enjoy the online portion and I enjoy playing with my friends.

That's what pay to win is. Letting low ranks buy overpowered sh*t just cuz they have the irl money for it. A bad disease that seems to plague most MMOs. So far it hasn't fully touched RDO yet. It's not crazy and feels good when you finally get to the rank to obtain/use it. Low ranks with explosives is like giving a tantrum ridden 5 year old a flamethrower. Also slippery bastard basically makes your accuracy sh*t and you can't lock on to them, they can't lock on to you. Very handy in showdowns like fool's gold and that one I can't remember but you gotta get the other team's loot bag.

Female Gamers: Are they too much a distraction for male players?
Renascent replied to YodaMan 3D's topic in Off-Topic
My group of friends/posse comprise of mostly women and maybe a couple guys on the regular. My friend is way more vicious than any of the guys in the group, she absolutely will wipe the floor with your face when it comes to free aim sniping and lassoing ugh (have many videos of her snatching me off my horse or sniping me from impossible areas). There was a couple guys that we don't really play with anymore who apparently felt threatened by her and I and would try to put us down cuz he had some weird alpha male thing going on. Like he couldn't stand that we were higher rank and better skilled than him (idk about skill for me, I'm just paranoid af and tend to be a couple steps ahead of my enemies/opponents). As far as a distraction, I've only really noticed that sometimes guys will be super annoying with the following around or hog-tying and killing once they realize I'm a woman. Or my friend got ganged up on when some rank 280 something dude was trying to flirt with her and she didn't respond and just shotgunned him in the face. So he had his entire posse of 6 kill her repeatedly. She's rank 80. -
Explosive rounds are already not a 100% kill, often it'll stun you but won't kill if you get hit anywhere below the neck. Although I think you can still die from a chest shot, but anywhere else isn't a guarantee kill. I would definitely hope that shooting at someone unprovoked would pull them out of defensive mode. If not then that's severely broken and every asshole around would be running around in defensive mode surprise attacking people. I'd also still think that using dynamite/dynamite arrows and fire bottles would still insta kill someone. Along with, would doing a stranger mission put you in offensive mode or stay in? The latter, again, would be severely broken.

I usually am on from 11am to 7pm Central time during the week and anytime during the weekends. I wouldn't mind the company as most of my friends hardly log when I'm online during the week lately. PSN is Renascentc

I'm reading that some self proclaimed "griefers" think that this new defensive mode is gonna be free aim grief heaven. Because they assume that ONLY lassoing someone will pull them out of defensive mode. They say that Rockstar is on the side of griefers and it'll be that way. Which my brain hurts at the thought of someone being stupid enough to assume that's how it'll be. I would like to think that Rockstar is trying to learn and steer clear of the cesspool of bullsh*t that is GTA 5, but my faith isn't that stable.

Offensive all the way. Ain't no gain, for me, without the risk. Every time I get my ass kicked I come back stronger/smarter like a true saiyan lol.

When I log RDO I am ready to die or fight for my life. So the assassination missions don't bother me. Whether I'm being targeted or I am the attacker, I've only ever lost once as I kept tripping up. But regardless of how far they are, I can catch them or run from them. It helps that I know the map pretty well and I can run across just about any terrain without tripping up, usually. Most targets run North East as I guess most people have trouble running through there. Problem being is that I don't, and they do, so that usually is their death sentence. I do find it easier when I'm not the leader and I can get going rather than be stuck in the cutscene. Hell I've been hog-tied and the target had one hell of a headstart WITH their posse surrounding them, still died. But yeah it goes both ways, I appreciate when people are one and done.
-
The concern isn't necessarily about it being considered griefing, although it seems by most people's standards it would be. But mostly when they lose (get killed), they are butthurt and follow you around trying to mess with you after the fact. I usually do the deed and move on but most people I kill that were my targets will then come back and try to kill me repeatedly like they take it so personal.
-
As if they don't already do that... Had one dude yesterday waste all of his dynamite and explosive ammo on me and a couple friends (he still died 9 times out of 10).
-
Benbow coat?? Morning tail coat?!
-
It's always been a topic of concern in most if not all games that mix pvp with pve. Even if it's a purely PVP game people are still gonna complain about getting "griefed".

I just don't see why people continue this little debate on passive mode, private lobbies and whatnot like Rockstar is sitting here reading these forums pen and paper in hand ready to surprise implement ideas (maybe they are, who knows). This thread, among others, same song and dance and usually after someone had a bad day in RDO. I am not sure at all. I think you missed a few of my "maybes" that doesn't imply that I know with any certainty, but only guessing at where things may or may not be headed. Sit tight and enjoy the ride I suppose.
-
Then sue em. The same could be said about a lot of games, products, companies, presidents (build a wall and make mexico pay for it anyone?), etc that they aren't living up to their promotional statements. But ya'll are beating a dead horse about what they "said". The statement was meant to sell and it did, some will leave others will come. And even if GTAO has private lobbies, maybe Rockstar wants to go a different route with RDO? Or maybe they'll have it down the line. Whether it seems to work in other games, doesn't seem to matter much to them.
-
Everything in this game wants to kill you and seemingly for no reason. Even npcs will shoot at you for bumping into them. You want NPCs to be passive too? You want the animals to stand still for you to shoot? You want to never be ambushed by NPCs as well? If I find a game I don't enjoy or is too difficult then I don't play it, not complain that it doesn't suit my needs. Yeah sure Rockstar did that promotion campaign of "fun and fair environment for everyone". But let's be real, human nature is ugly and will manifest no matter what. This isn't everyone gets a gold star for participation (maybe a little), this isn't no child left behind. You already got auto aim to help with lack of skill. Put on your big boy panties and get real.

@Kean_1 Just putting this out there, but blocking them doesn't keep them from being matched into a session with you. Just saying. I blocked one guy who followed me from session to session pre update, and was matched with him some weeks ago (not surprised he was dark red).

*sob* One of my friends glitched the coat and was able to buy it. But no one else has been able to recreate the glitch again.
