I'm paying huge online money to anyone that give me info on where the Blackjack dealer's families lives. Double rewards if you know about both of them.... This gambler challenge is utter bullsh*t, that's already 3 ****ing times I was able to hit 3 and end up with 19-21 and this little mother****er either push me or win the bet... one time he had the AUDACITY to hit 3 times and get 1 point higher than me, just to shove in my face... this bitch should be in Hogwarts with all this wizardry sh*t he is pulling.

Yeah this is the most annoying of the challenges. When I finally did it I had 17, hit and got a 2, then again and got Ace, and knew I had to try and lo and behold hit another Ace. But of all the challenges this took the longest - about 3 hrs.

Finally got it finished but now, after 2 consecutive wins the same guy with an IQ of a door became a Domino Jedi and it's not letting me win the last one... BTW quick tip, do not save and load, the game allows you to quit if you are loosing and you keep your win streak progress but reloading the save in the middle of the challenge resets it back to 0.

The gambling challenges are extremely frustrating.  Indeed, many of the challenges across the board are.  R* is messing with us :(  You have to REALLY want to get them done to do them - the time, luck and frustration required for some is stupid.  I've done the gambling ones, but barely scratched the surface of the others - just cant be bothered too much yet.  Sooo many other things to do!

I do the gambling and others when i get tired of hunting or looking for treasure or the many other world things there are.  Herbalist is the one i have yet to do anything with, i think i'm Herbalist 2 still lol.

So you can't win one game, save, leave the table and reload? What if you have to be somewhere IRL? That REALLY sucks!

That's what happened yesterday, I had to leave so I saved and out of curiosity I loaded the game to see if the progress was still there... nope, all gone... at least that what's happened to me, nowdays with all the bugfest games have I can't say for certain that it was an isolated case or not, anyways posted the tip, because it's better safe than sorry ahahahaha

I'm going to follow that way of thinking, trying to grind from 0 to 10 of the same challenge makes me want murder whoever thaught about some of the challenges... that "Hunter Master 6" or whatever the cougar one number is, was a pain in the ass to do all in one go. 3 hours running around the same spot hoping for cougars to show up.

That's the one i'm stuck on.  I go NW of Strawberry near the trapper, hunt there till i get one, then go do other things.  few game days later i'll do it again.  I've gotten 3 so far lol.

I tried looking there, but took me a lot longer then the other place... There is a shack near the train tracks what I did was, sleep in the shack until night, go out looking for cougar until 5 AM, back to shack sleep until night, go out looking for cougar until 5 AM and so on, I would save often between search because I was also looking for 3* rating cougars so I could load if the cougar wasn't a 3* one.

Putting the place where I found the cougars in spoilers, so you can choose to see it or go find it on your own xD

Spoiler

North from Annesburg, follow the train tracks when you get to the water tower, on the other side should be a forest, there is the place where I found the cougars, the I tried to get the whole area where I found cougars with that cougar head.

Actually, riding from Strawberry to the trapper is how I got it done in less than an hour. 90% of the time a cougar will spawn in the woods where the creek and the road parts (you’ll know). After you’ve killed and skinned the cougar, simply ride back to Strawberry and sleep. Rinse and repeat.

Oh, that's nice, I didn't do that route, when I was there I kept going up and down near the trapper and it took ages to spawn 1 cougar... when I went to the other place it was like 1 cougar every night or two, it only took me more than an hour because I was nitpicky and only wanted to kill 3* rating cougars. You can go on foot between the shack where I slept and the forest where they spawn, it's super close.

Just redoing this on my second playthrough and now the dealer is actually trolling me.

I only need one more to complete it and drew three cards totalling 20, the damned dealer then drew 4 cards so had 6 cards in his hand to land on 21!

It's not the win 5 hands by doubling down I was talking about, it's the win 3 hands with 5 cards or more.

The five finger fillet is easy, just remember to use R2 to zoom in while they're taking their turn so you know the pattern. And the dominoes isn't too bad, just find a game with only 1 person in and keep playing, if you're going to lose just stand up and exit the game and immediately sit down again.

As long as you don't lose the game your streak keeps going. Takes a lot less time than 5 card blackjack one.

I honestly stopped doing anything pertaining to gambling for the time being because they are such a pain. Like I get it, it is gambling but why should one thing take well over and hour. I read some people saying this one took them nearly 4 hours to do. Like what the hell!? If that is the case, I may just skip them all together.

What I did was turn off the sound and watch some Netflix on my laptop. I think #8 took me two hours or something. #9 was actually more mentally draining (and it took close to three hours) for me because it really requires you to pay attention. Plus I suck at dominoes. The last challenge was a piece of piss. Just go all in every time.

If you want to get 100% I absolutely recommend getting it done ASAP because I tried ignoring it but I was just filled with dread everytime I started the game. Some of the gambler challenges and EVERY SINGLE PART of ”Duchesses and other animals” are easily one of the worst things I’ve ever done in a game. And that’s coming from a guy who things RDR2 is the best game ever made. But now I’ve got my 100% completion (saved gang hideout for last so I could go out with a literal blast) and I feel so free! For the first time I feel like exploring at my leisure.

Doesn't always work out that way, sadly. But yes that is the best bet, to go all in pre-flop at Flatneck Station and you can usually scare them off. But if you do it to much you get called and sometimes lose to some crazy hands.

Wow that sucks, took me about 3 hours the first time and about 2 hours the second time. At least the dominoes one is much easier and quicker, only took about 20 mins.

I won the first two games pretty easily. But then my opponent turned in to some domino savant with a ton of luck. I'm not exaggerating if I say that I had to back out of 15 games. But then I got 53 points on the first round and the rest is, thankfully, history.

Ok is there something I'm missing playing dominoes? I think I've lost 40 consecutive matches.

Tried the All 5's game in St. Denis with a couple fellas and that proved a complete waste of time. Then played about 30 rounds of All 3's with Abigail in camp and she waxed me. I mean it was a blood bath. She almost seemed to have magical powers.

Which led me to this, am I missing something? Is there a strategy that I'm not getting? I've played dominoes for many years, never the "multiples" variation in the game but they're all pretty similar, and I've never seen this level of luck.

I almost feel like the game is rigged to a point where the NPC is choosing available dominoes from their own hand and the boneyard, unbeknownst to you. They always have the right play.

I mean I'm losing games in incredible fashion. 87 points with a play to win and she pulls out the double 6 and busts me with 21 points. I drew 11 straight no plays from the boneyard the FIRST hand to finish with 13 and 83 points to the winner. Game over.

I gotta be missing something.

i hate playing the "numbers" dominoes.  Go to Emerald Station, they play what we call "straight" dominoes.  doesn't matter what numbers are on the ends, you go domino to win, and get the opponents points from their remaining pips.

This is what we always played IRL. That or "draw" dominoes.

The "numbers" ones are fairly quick so I figured I could knock it out fast. Two hours last night and not a single win.

Still gotta be missing a key strategy I think. It's virtually impossible to lose that much without rigged AI.

Hey everyone! I just beat Gambler challenge 8 in 20-30 min! Not sure if it was the trick I tried or I just got lucky but I thought i'd share what I did incase it works. I alternated the amount I bet every time back and forth, first bet 2 cents then 12 cents. Every hand the face value of the cards I was dealt got lower and lower. If anyone yries this and it works I'd love to know!

Gambler 8 is hell, but I did it twice already. You just need to be patient, try to do it in different locations. I did first 2 in Van Horn and the last one in Rhodes. Also dominoes are easy but very annoying. For Gambler 9 I suggest to play at Emerald Ranch with one player, it will be long but easy.

For gambler 8, I just spammed the ‘hit me’ button whenever I got a score of 17 or less.

If I got a high deal or someone else hit 21, I just quit the game and immediately rejoined.

I eventually got the three hands. I think this is the worst of the gambler challenges because it’s so random. Probably the worst challenge in the whole game.
