Toxic Relationship

The feeling when playing online it’s like being in a toxic relationship, you just keep coming back and all you do is hurting yourself. Right now i am in bed trying to go to sleep but i can’t , i’m pissed 😂 There are so many things wrong with the pvp part of the game i could write a bible. Free roam is quite good, few assholes here and there trying to spoil your fun but it’s ok. As for pvp i don’t know where to start , you have 2 options 32 players or 16 i think because i never suceded in entering the normal 8vs 8 player, i would like to choose the type of game i want and the map ofcourse, i am forced to play that shitfest aimbot arena Tall trees.Auto aim is the worst , you can’t run for two meters without being shot then if you crouch somewhere some asshole spawns behind you. I played tumbleweed before and twice i spawned god knows where , it took me 40 seconds to get back. The minimap sucks ass too, in all games it shows enemies only when they fire a weapon. And about auto aim it’s not the same for all , sometimes i press L2 and the dot is like 20-30 cm from my targets arm. This game is not made for high end pvp like CoD and Battlefield and will never be because the controls are not that good , they are clumsy and you character bumps everywhere like a retard. It takes a year to turn him from left to right , the controls are not fast responsive , and it’s not precise.Lag is bad but that’s fixable. I want to go to controls without exiting the server wtf 😂

Well its second beta week but I can assure you this will never be CoD or Battlefield, it´s not intended.

If it were either of those titles, I wouldn't play. Sure, dabbling in a little PvP is nice and all, but I like to hunt, fish, drink, fight, and I'm sure at some point they'll add mini games as well, and I'll play those.

Something for everyone is how I like my games.. :)

Those are the games I prefer, I'll never play CoD again, still enjoy Battlfield, just not nearly as much as Red Dead. Usually like the really complicated games that take a while to learn, simply because there's sooo much to do.

It's still early in the beta, there's still several things that were data mined that aren't in the game right now, and bug fixes are slowly coming out.

Don't be dismayed until a month after live, beta is just that, a test run.

Look at it this way, your writing with a brand new pencil. Next week they will give you a pencil sharpener.

This made me laugh, but you are correct with your assessment 😂😂😂

Don't hit the red button just yet... This is only Beta, it will get better.

That was a hilarious read OP.

Like everyone mentioned, just be patient and give it some time. The game has a ways to go to work out the kinks and get everything sorted. Even after beta testing is done, there will still be more updates and patches. Games like this constantly need to be changed.

Whilst counselling patience is always wise, it is hard to be patient with opening gambits which make little sense... One gets the feeling RDR20  is starting so far in the wrong place that 'fixing' it properly will be wholly unlikely.

Economy fixed? No, economy changed to  slightly  being better... But it is still awful.

Why was game wide passive mode not in this beta?

Why does one need levels to buy say a fishing rod or binoculars? Indeed why do  we need levels at all?  The money situation is prohibitive enough without needing levels for purchases surely?

What is it with the whole nag thing?  Myself I've achieved full stamina very quickly because half of the time I am running everywhere; it is more  efficient than waiting for the nag.

Why do we not at the start of a session spawn into our camp, with our horse there? It makes no sense at present where one is dumped anywhere basically with no horse at all.... WHY?

Plus  there are many other issues ..... However, as for this being a 'Beta' it is somewhat a misnomer, a little like buying a kit car ...

If I want a 4x4 type vehicle kit but the manufacturer sends me a kit for race track car, then it is a problem... If I say 'Look this is not working for me I wanted a 4x4!' and the manufacturer says "It's a kit car.... so build it,  use it, then we'll make some changes on what you suggest..."

The track car will never be a competent 4x4, no matter what.

This is the problem with RDR20 ..... It is not GTA V and one has the feeling it will not appeal to a great many GTA players for long .... Chasing around the map soon gets tedious IMO ... Yesterday I spent maybe 5 hours, hunting/fishing/wandering,/listening ..... How many players who want to kill everything in sight for no reason are going to do that? To me RDR20 it appears has fallen between two stools and is confused as to what it is.... Is it a  collective 'Shoot 'em up'  or a form of Sim activity?. Because these two different player types on an open map cannot possibly work for anyone without rigid barriers between them.

It is why we have police forces, courts and prisons..... Too many people simply cannot act reasonably of their own volition

Somehow i can't support much of what you said here. I really like the game and the more i play it, the more i like it. There are quite a few things, missing from GTA that i never liked in the first place.

  • Radar
    • in GTA, you see all players in radar no matter how far away they are. In RDR you only see those who are near by. I really like this feature
  • Notifications about activities of other players
    • In GTA, you see everything. A player starts a mission, you get a request to destroy it. 2 players killing each other in Paleto Bay, you'll get notified. In RDR, you only notice stuff that is actually near by. If you're far off everyone else, it feels like you're in a session of your own
  • Economy
    • In GTA Online, if you played the game for some time and own like CEO / MC and especially a Nightclub, you are done. Money is rolling in almost automatically. The prices on RDR might be high but it's actually keeping me having goals to grind for.
  • Business
    • In GTA, you have businesses that run basically on their own. The Nightclub was topping everything. It's basically a money making machine without any effort. In RDR there is a business included that is not so obvious at first: Hunting! So you need actually do something in order to get money. I can only hope that any upcoming DLC stays on this path.
  • Levels / Ranks
    • There were levels in GTA as well. They might not be needed but why have levels at all if there is nothing to gain from them
  • Game does not fit a single player type
    • So what? Did GTA do this? Was GTA PvP only? I like some PvP elements here and there but i also don't like to play it all day. If i wanna have a plain shooter, i would play Battlefield or something like that. It's awesome to be able to have something relaxing like fishing or hunting and have some PvP in between. I don't even mind someone killing me while doing something once in a while but i wouldn't miss anyone in RDR that is only there for the kills. Actually, these kind of players were getting on my nerves big time in GTA. You tried to sell a bunker in GTA, you'll see a kid in jet or Oppressor stopping by, blowing everything up and be gone. I don't miss this at all. These kids should stay in GTA.

RDR2 has not fallen between stools. Instead it just gives you both of them for those who enjoy both sides but not one all day.
