Eh, if it isn't supernatural in nature, it'll just be "meh" to me. If they're going to do a "What If?" story, it needs to be really outside of the box, like Undead Nightmare was.

There's plenty of elements from Native American culture that can be used as a template, like the Baykok, which can be layered with Cannibalism.

Granted, Baykok is more Great Lakes than Southwest, but there's a lot of NA creatures of myth to draw from, including Bigfoot.

End of discussion.

It's funny, but I always view Bone Tomahawk as a spiritual successor to The 13th Warrior (the original book, Eaters of the Dead, Crichton based off of Beowulf).  The villains are remarkably similar, and the two make for a fantastic double feature.

BT is one of those films where you sit down and have a completely different theory of where the story is going as opposed to how it ends up.  I know @Cokeyskunk would rather have more supernatural elements to potential DLC, ala RDR's Undead expansion, but based on the growth of GTAV post launch through content updates, there's certainly room for multiple options once the release cycle ramps up for DLC on RDR2.

I do think they should keep some of the more outlandish ideas for later in the cycle: focus more on expanding the narrative and world building through the initial DLC offerings and sprinkle in hints of what is coming down the line, but keep it under wraps.

I also wouldn't mind seeing limited time events occur in-world.  Several games do this, and it'd be cool to see R* explore this option.

I guess I'll have to watch 13th Warrior again. It's been years. Did you see Brawl in Cell Block 99?

let's hear an example of a limited time event.

Off the top of my head?

I like to keep things grounded in reality with games like this (my desire for Bone Tomahawk influenced dlc notwithstanding), so things like an event over the course of a week whereby there's a chance to rob a stagecoach with real life outlaw Pearl Hart, and complete a questline for a unique reward.

There could also be faction-based events: choosing the side of the law or outlaws in skirmishes in specific locations, or even seasonal events.  There's a lot of options, but the rewards would have to be tailored to be in-line with whatever system is imolemented for the game.  I'd be a bigger fan, personally, of cosmetic rewards over rewards that could tip the balance of power in the game.  Making the rich richer isn't going to help player retention.  Not everyone has multiple hours a day to devote to playing this game.

I feel like GTA Online gutted the soul of GTA and merely used it as a playground for it's fantastical and over-the-top ridiculousness of drip-fed DLC content.  If Rockstar is looking to steer clear of this model going forward while maintaining the same level of engagement and monetary value that GTA Online did, I think a mixed model would be best.  So without going into too much detail, I'd like to see something that promotes the game both from a story-driven perspective, as well as an online perspective.  For example, There may be elements of the game that might cross-over, earning items that can only be earned on one end and only used on the other.  Perhaps, they could even incorporate an entire October to turn the landscape into a zombie apocalypse, along with a story mode to accompany it.  Both game modes should be given the same attention to detail.  And yes, they can charge me for Single Player DLC.  I never gave them a dime for GTA Shark Cards.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is filled with Easter Eggs to find, and players are still discovering them over one month the game has been released. Most of those discovered so far don't amount to much, outside a fun diversion from the usual outlaw activities, but a brand new one that has been found recently seems to hint at future content coming to the game.

Before we proceed further, there are some huge end-game spoilers below this point. Avoid reading at all costs if you haven't reached the Epilogue and don't want to ruin one of the game's big twists.

After completing Chapter 6, players will no longer control Arthur Morgan, but the beloved Red Dead Redemption protagonist John Marston. Players will also be brought back to the New Austin area to complete the game's final missions. To experience this new Easter Egg, you need to get to the Tall Trees region on the map and jump down a well. Here, the character will start glowing in the dark and will be in a zombified form which is not too different from the one seen on the Undead Nightmare cover. The same can happen if you somehow manage to get Arthur down this well, but the effects are not as pronounced. You can check out a video of the Easter Egg provided by Reddit user BrodyTheBeast by going here.

This new zombie-themed Easter Egg may be a simple diversion added for fun to the game by Rockstar Games, but its location seems to suggest that there could be something more behind it. The developer has yet to reveal any plans for single-player DLC expansions, and it will probably take some time for us to hear more about them, considering Red Dead Online is launching soon in beta and that it will require some work before its official launch.

The Red Dead Redemption Undead Nightmare DLC expansion has been released a few months after the main game released on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 and it's completely standalone, meaning that it can be played even without owning Red Dead Redemption. The expansion features a zombie-themed horror campaign, starring John Marston once again as he searches New Austin for the cure of a plague that's infesting the area. During the course of the campaign, John will meet many of the characters he encountered during his first journey, but they will be somewhat different to fit the theme of the expansion.

The Undead Nightmare expansion campaign doesn't play too differently from the main Red Dead Redemption campaign, with players controlling Arthur in a big open-world setting completing missions given by various NPCs. Side missions given by Strangers as well as Chance Encounters are also available, and all have been modified slightly to fit into the expansion. The Undead Nightmare expansion also adds two new multiplayer modes and several cosmetic additions.

Now that the zombie-themed Easter Egg in Red Dead Redemption 2 has been discovered, Rockstar Games may surprise us in the near future and officially announce Undead Nightmare 2. We will let you know more about this possible expansion as soon as possible, so stay tuned for all the latest news.

I wouldn't mind them doing it again but I would rather they do something else. Maybe instead of zombies they dabble in some like old indian tales or something. I don't mind the zombie thing now and then but it has been overkill since they released RDR with other games.

Dude great idea! Indian lore would be super cool. Maybe skinwlakers or the wendigo or something. THAT would be fresh and exciting
