What do ya'll do for Christmas?

You guys do anything special? Traditions maybe? 

My family used to have a good size gathering until my grandparents got sick and later passed away. Now I only spend time with my parents and siblings on Christmas Day and Eve. All the traditions we had other than just getting together have died off. The holiday for me just feels pointless now.

I go to my uncles. He has Christ gatherings every year. The whole family joins in. We tend to just stick to simple things like playing games, eating the same food, and opening gifts by the fire place at the same time every year. Been like this for a good 11 years now.

I dread it. Every year I have to deal with the family fighting, spending money I don't have to receive gifts I don't want. I would much rather celebrate Halloween again. lol

We did the whole go the grandma's thing when I was younger but that stopped once they were to old to keep up and host it so now my mom does it. I really am a grinch myself and don't do many of the traditions. It is just a corporate scam to me.

We have a pre-Christmas gathering with the whole family. A hall gets rented and we all bring some food and play games. Santa is there for the younger kids. On the actual day, we don't do much outside opening gifts and eating dinner together.

I read "Christ gatherings" and had to ask if that was a typo. 

For me, it is the same thing every year. We get together and go to the grandparents. On Eve we go to one, on the day of we go to the other and they rotate each year.

It was a typo indeed. My bad. Was a long day followed by many more long days. 

Kind of glad to see some people still having traditions. Most of my friends' families don't have any.

Same here. Well, for the most part. I do join my parents for dinner and we do gift exchanging on Christmas Eve. Been like that for awhile. Day of is just a "do what you want" day but join together for dinner.

Don't know. Honestly, not too thrilled this time of year. When you have a family who does nothing but argue and try to one up each other, it tends to ruin the season. Last year I just hung out with my roommate. May end up doing it again.

My wife works Christmas Eve, day, and for 3 days after.  So, it will be me and my NES for 4 days of retro gaming.  Dragon Warrior 3 is coming in the mail this coming week and I am super excited to play this classic RPG.  I've recently been on a retro game buying binge, buying all sorts of older games on Ebay for the NES and PS one and 2.  Basically going to be absorbed in video games and vegetating. All my friends and family live in Canada so until my wife gets home, it's me and the video games, and I am PERFECTLY FINE WITH THAT! hahaha

Did you move from Canada to the US or something? And that sounds like a nice way to spend the holiday. I have to put on a happy face and bite my tongue every time someone takes a "loving" shot at me as a person.  Yay!

Yes, I moved from Canada last year in August.  Probably moving back at some point, but for now I'm making good money and I like it here.

You like it in the US... You sure you are a real Canadian? LOL So many people seem to hate America these days. I say hate the people not the land... Or rather not the people, but what they do. Well you get the idea. lol

As for me, just spending time with the family. Likely be out all day Christmas. I don't mind it.

Same here man. Once the grandparents got ill, we kind of stopped doing a lot. I guess that is house it goes. Now my parents host everything.

Yeah it sucks but you gotta pass on the torch. These days it seems like the people don't want to accept the torch. No one wants to grow up lol

Anyways.. I wish everyone a good Christmas. I likely won't be back on here till after. Got a lot to do the next few days.

Since i am scandinavian i celebrate on the 24th (TOMMOROW!!) but other than that i typically watch the same television shows as i watched last year, and eat rib (juleribbe in norwegian). Other than that my family and i open gifts and watch home alone 1 & 2. Couldn't ask for more!
