I was thinking back and that is one thing I was surprised we didn't see more of in RDR. There was one main mission to steal the machine gun from the mine but that is the only one I can recall ever doing. Do you guys think we will see more action and missions in mines given that there are what seem to be more mountains and a larger landscape in RDR2?

I hope so just for the fun of it. I always liked mining in games like this. It feels a bit closed off and more stealth like. If money is a higher motive, there will like be missions where you have to go into a mine and steal anything from supplies to actual gold.

I'd love to have more maze-like mines to traverse myself especially if they're filled with secrets all over. I was hoping for more from AC: Origins when exploring the pyramids but sadly they were pretty disappointing for me personally (I preferred the tombs from AC2).

Hoping for it but not counting on it ¬¬

I would like to see some mines that have different aspects, maybe some with workers/criminals currently working in them, criminal hideouts underground, maybe some abandoned ones you can get lost in. Just mix it up!

Unless there's a hidden DeLorean down there I'm not interested

I am with you. There needs to be a point to going underground or I want to be up in the mountains. You guys see the scenery? Why be underground!?

Why not? Sure the surface above will be scenic but why not allow a bit of spelunking for those of us that are keen?

I'm just kidding around though because I know we'll get something special. As much as I enjoyed AC:Origins I just felt it was still too hollow and I'm sure RDR2 will deliver something more in depth even if it doesn't include mines and/or caves (please make it so devvies, PLEASE!).

They'll have mines I know it, likely more than the last one and they will be in better detail. I think this is a great way to expand the map too.

Think of how much bigger it will feel if you can actually explore 10% of it underground.

I'm not bothered either way. If they do have more mine missions, that is cool so long as they play into the story and reward you.

I think for the online end, having mines would be better. You can have mine raids that you and your gang do to get money, guns, and other things online.

I liked what little we have in RDR and I want more for sure. They can have several areas where miner's caves are stationed. If the map is as big as people think it will be, there will be more than enough room for it. Well, that, and mines go underground so it isn't like they will take up much room anyways.

I like the idea of doing mine raids vs other people/gangs. That would be a lot of fun. That wouldn't interfere with anything either.

Based on some bits from the trailers, there will be parts of the story where we are in them. I'm not sure how much they will focus on this though since this will be mostly gang related and it seems it will be more focused on bank robbery and train robbing.

The mines creep me out - I'm not particularly excited about them. ????

Haha yeah in real life I'd run faster than anyone else from a cave. Just glad that in game there aren't any spiders!

It'd be cool to go underground in mines i reckon - Mining was still very much a thing for when the game was set so it'd certainly fit into the atmosphere and period of the game. Maybe they could closely incorporate it with something a little horror or spooky/and or treasure?

I also think it would be cool to have a few of them (or at least one or two) to explore. I don't expect anything over the top but having something to explore similar to what we had in RDR would be something I'd personally enjoy and if they added in something extra like horror then I'd be happy with the distraction!

Plus why not set up camp in an abandoned mine, sunlight is bad for you ????

Actually a mini maze setup with some dangerous elements (possibly even fatal if you're not paying attention) would also be pretty awesome but perhaps I'm just begging for an entirely new game now.

I'd like to see mines in more detail as well as have TNT freely lying around for online fun. Could you imagine messing around in a mine with your buddy and some random player just sets off some TNT? They can make it where the mines stay blown up for a set amount of time before "regenerating" as well so they can have the full effect of a collapse underground.

Actually having TNT would bring a nice dynamic to the game, if you could blast mines and then root around for gold or silver to sell.

Love these ideas. I wouldn't have even considered them. I like the regenerating bit for online. For the story, it can be a one-time thing be it part of a mission or just an accidental explosion while exploring an abandoned mine.

I am all for this if there is a point. Like it has to be part of a mission or there has to be something worth finding. Having just dead mines around the map makes no sense.
