When it becomes the meta in many of the showdown games it's a problem. It sucks all the fun out of it. I'm glad they nerfed headshots too, putting more reliance on body shots. I couldn't stand getting headshot from a varmint rifle from 100 yards away, it was BS. I hate PVP with a passion. Too many cheaters. I only begrudgingly participate in it for daily challenges.

Show downs suck anyways,.      And SB was never the meta.   PIB was and still is the meta, especially now with faster gun mechanics.

And the only thing sucking the fun out of pvp is auto aim combined with PIB to bypass aim bobble/weapon bloom

Besides, SB was the only thing in game that blocked auto aim.  It was the bug repellent of auto aim, especially in free roam.    Now, because of this pointless change to SB, (Which made it useless), I can no longer play with free aim.

SB is now useless.  It makes the users aim all messed up and the people who targets them..  So now the only thing SB is useful for is running around, especially with the faster movement..  (Sure as hell can't shoot with it)  And PIB is the counter.

Im forced to use PIB now.  So instead of long drawn out free roam battles or the ability to avoid getting cheap shotted by auto aim.  Im using auto aim and PIB and killing players and NPCS in seconds.  Also don't have to rely on aiming anymore or head shots.  I can just rapid fire a few shots off into the body and kill someone quicked then aiming at their head.

SB is the meta for showdown games such as spoils of war, plunder and up in smoke where you're invading  the enemies camp and you either steal loot or blow it up. Everyone just puts on SB and runs into the camp and out untouched. It's  boring as hell. As far as auto aim goes, I'm afraid we're just going to have to agree to disagree.

So trying to steal the loot and getting blasted by auto aim and PIB in seconds is better?

People used SB to avoid stupid ass auto aim.  It doesn't block REAL aim or PIB.

And like I said, the only thing SB is now good for, is exactly the thing you're complaining about.

Im not sure how its boring as hell not to be blasted by stupid ass auto aim..   Auto aim is ****ing retarded in pvp.

So far I am very pleased with update.  Got some bugs yet but all and all it seems much more fun.  Now if they can keep adding new content on a somewhat regular basis it will keep me here.  Otherwise I will just go back to another game for a few months until they add the next one.  I think this is gonna be another long lasting game like they did with gtao .

Same here.  I like a lot of the new additions / changes.

The gunplay was never anything I considered "realistic" in this game nor in GTAO.  It's the whole experience that sells it IMO.  Gun fights seem more like simply going through the motions rather than something that's really engaging like a good tactical shooter.  ....but again, that's ok for me because I don;t mind the arcade-like mechanics of the weapons in a game like this.

Quite honestly, the reloads were already ridiculously too fast to be anything close to reality.  That was one thing I wish they would have slowed down instead and took into consideration when balancing the weapons.  This would have made guns like the side loading repeaters, the Schofield, etc. have an edge in that regard.  Also would have made having two sidearms more meaningful as the real purpose was typically so you had two fully loaded weapons at the ready given that reloading can take time, etc.  especially with an SAA, tube loading rifle, breach loaders (compared to bolt or repeaters), etc.

I would love more realistic mechanics in this game in that regard as it would certainly make engagements more exciting and IMO more immersive.

I never like the PvP events in this game as it was always full of twitch-like gameplay and run & gun tactics.

I agree with this... Nothing in a video game (Save maybe the invention of the holodeck) will truly capture the reality of a gun fight... the closest you will get is firing a course on the range with real guns, and even that is a lame simulation... I’m happy having a character that knows what to do and does it with a couple button presses...

I have been away for a couple months so I don't know whether or not this is new.  I noticed that when in defensive mode that you are pretty close to invisible on mini map.  I have watched other players in distance ride by on road and they  don't show on minimal.  I really like that if it is some of the new and even if it was implemented a while back.  Really helps people do there on thing if they want.

So I'm trying to complete today's clear 2 hideouts task.  I have traveled around to about ten hideout spots and all of them were empty.  Do they only spawn at a particular time of day?

Yeah, I'm not sure either.  I know we both noticed that though.

Now you can actually crouch into brush to hide and it works.

I like the update a lot.  I think they added a nice amount from this update. What I've I noticed the most is the grizzlies and cougars are harder to one-shot kill.  I only notice this because I always encounter at least one per session.

Can you upgrade your horses for the wagons?  I saw the horses in the Role progressions but wasn't sure if those were for the wagons or your everyday horse.  I did nt want to spend the money if it was meant to replace my black arabian.

Should have added that I love the update.  The three roles are tons of fun.   Granted I have played it a TON but  I wish the levels were either higher or longer to complete.  I am already level 20 with Trader and Collector plus level 70 with Outlaw Pass.

Its funny you mention the reload speed, I just watched a guy load a real Lamat, LOL you wont believe what is involved, you certainly arent doing anywhere near as fast as in the game, before the update never mind after.

It involves a ball, not a bullet, and you actually have to "press" like with a real press the ball into the hole, which is designed to shave off a part of the ball.
You also added powder with a little funnel, in there first, then a moistened pad, then the ball which you pressed in with a press.

They do this for an air tight seal, to avoid chainfires, which were very common back in the day.

Grease didnt prevent it or the little pad they put in that is moistened, both have a purpose but neither will prevent a chain fire from happening, so thinking about that, you literally need to sit at a bench to reload the damn thing, not very practical for day to day use like a sheriff or something, more like a one and done deal, you fire your nine and grab another gun til you can get to a press, lol.

Yes, cap an ball revolvers are quite the thing to reload... though I can have my six shot loaded up in maybe a little over a minute if I was on the clock.  Though the real way to do a fast reload is to carry an extra  cylinder reloaded ahead of time and swap them out.

yes, chain fire is a potential problem in these arms as well, though it is (mostly) preventable with good maintenance and proper reloading.  But your point is valid. The lemat was never a popular gun and the game makes it way overpowered... though still in the flavour of the game in an arcadey kind of way.... you should look up the volcanic while your at it. Another gun the game blew way out of proportion.

I actually did look up the volcanic first, it was Amazing!! I didnt even know it was a real "type" of gun.

I carry and have for many years, I think I got my permit back in 95", I used to have quite a collection but over the years I have slimmed it down to a couple revolvers, I was never a fan of semi autos for concealed carry.

Anyway, it was really cool to see these guns in action.

I'm not into shooting black powder firearms but these percussion revolvers usually had presses or rams built into their design so they could be reloaded in the field.  The LeMat had one too IIRC.  I'm not sure what video you may have watched but maybe in that scenario the owner / shooter felt more comfortable loading on a bench for whatever reason.

......check the 3 minute mark.  That explains why he had to load the cylinder on the bench with his own press.  This wasn't a requirement for this or necessarily other percussion revolvers of the time.

The reloading assembly broke off on his gun, that's why.  .....otherwise you can load the revolver with the cylinder still in the the frame of the weapon.  That's what I was talking about.

That would be cool.

What they show in the game is nowhere near what someone would realistically be able to load some of these weapons.

......as Jerry Miculeck walks in, "Is that a challenge? Hold my beer."

hey guys i got a question. for collector's role Divination (rank 3) is the vibration on your controller when you are near a treasure? cause vibration had the controller already without it when i was near. so what is this sense it says?

Don't ever change, bro.  I respect and admire the dedication to the cause.

Auto Aim in pvp is the equivalent of letting the kids in little league hit the ball off the tee after they swing and miss at three strikes.

Well, this isn’t a LeMat, but the principal is similar (only it’s a six shooter without a little front stuffer shotgun). You can see the cutout in the side that allows you to drop in your powder charge, wad, ball etc... the. As you rotate the cylinder there is a lever built in that allows you to pack it all down. Then just add primer caps to the back nipples....

sorry, not sure why the pictures are blurry
