RON Posted March 23, 2018 Posted March 23, 2018 In GTA V, the cash balance was bad. It made no sense and things were just far too expensive to feel real in any way. I am wondering, you guys think they will make the cash system for RDR2 online more balanced?
shawn Posted March 24, 2018 Posted March 24, 2018 I think it will be better than GTA V but still not completely realistic. It is too hard to do that in a game like this, especially when you are only going to be focusing on selling particular items.

They can easily do it but it makes more sense to round up and keep numbers even. I really don't care myself. It didn't bother me with what they did in GTA V either.
HIGHHorse Posted March 26, 2018 Posted March 26, 2018 I just want it to be balanced. It doesn't need to match the late 1800's in prices or be realistic. Having it be balanced is key for both the campaign and the online mode.
Anc1entC0re Posted March 26, 2018 Posted March 26, 2018 Nah it will be what it was last time. Look over the page that goes into detail about it and you will see why they can't base this on anything real: http://reddead.wikia.com/wiki/Money
bluntTR4P Posted March 28, 2018 Posted March 28, 2018 Money in all games is realistic to a certain degree but unless the game deals heavily with money (like farming games) this really isn't that important. 1

This is what I was going to say. It will be based on our systems in the real world with money but it can't be spot on with it. Well, it could be but it just isn't necessary. So yeah, it will be realistic and maybe more balanced than GTA V but still the same thing.

Having it be balanced is key for both the campaign and the online mode. The balance is important as well for microtransactions. If they screw it up in game, it will likely bleed onto the DLC area and that can be bad for us. Like we overpay real cash for in-game items or cash itself.
D3x Posted April 19, 2018 Posted April 19, 2018 I never heard of anyone thinking this deep into the mechanics of money within a game like this. Sure, it will have transactions and what not but realistic to the times? Highly unlikely.
riptide87 Posted May 1, 2018 Posted May 1, 2018 It will be just the same is it was before but with the online end and buying things with in-game earned money, it may be changed a bit so people who complete the game aren't too well off.
Benjo Posted May 8, 2018 Posted May 8, 2018 In GTAO they screwed the economy by understimating what people would earn, so they had to compensate by making even the crappiest of cars $1m+. I expect they will anticipate this better in RDRO but there's still the potential for it to get out of hand in the future. 1

Players wouldn't grind on GTA to get loads of cash?

Also modding is a big thing in GTA, which I think won't be a problem in RDR2 as it's current gen only. Modders used to exploit the backdoor from (example) XBox360 to XBoxONE as it was a lot easier to mod files on a 360.
