I know this wasn't done for GTA V but I thought it might be a good feature. They likely won't have it but it would be a good way to be able to play the game online with someone in person at their house. They can just do the ghosting profile thing and at a "(2)" to the end of the gamertag.

If this was to be a feature, do you think it would get used?

I am sure it is possible but I don't think it is a feature that would be used enough to put the effort in for. There was a mod for this on GTA V (PC). That would give you an idea of what it could look like or play like if you are curious.

Possible, yes.

Necessary, no.

It isn't a feature I can see Rockstar doing for this game. Maybe for Bully 2, but not RDR2.

Why no to necessary? Anything they can do isn't technically necessary. I think a lot of people would have fun with that feature. Especially siblings, roommates, and the rare husband and wife/boyfriend and girlfriend gaming duo. Not everyone can afford more than one system under one roof.

I actually miss being able to play a game with friends on the same TV so this would be appealing to me. More so if it opens the door to co-op story angles, even if it is only DLC.

This would be a good option for some people I am sure. I know a lot of games I had played growing up with my brothers were always a mess. We'd fight over who got to play and it would have been a lot easier to have a split screen option. That was not really a thing back then though.

I would like to see it be an option but I am not sure they would do anything like this. It would have to be a clone copy of your character and they wouldn't be able to earn anything from it or else it would make everything unbalanced.

That is a really good point. If you end up gaining extra resources, money, etc. then it gives people who play split screen an advantage. Also, how would you end up splitting something found/won between a group? Would the person playing "___(2)" just get nothing?

As mentioned, they would run into too many issues with online missions where it would either be pointless or give others an unfair advantage. Also, as mentioned, it is not Rockstar's style. Just because other games do it don't mean they ever will.
