Then you throw in dirtbags using aimbots and lag switching its a complete mess !! 1

It gives players a chance to be 'bad guys' and rob players. On paper it sounds great. But they at least have to put in some effort on balancing the pvp in the game, if they are going to bake it into every aspect of the game. If I was going after someones product. Its a dynamite arrow right out of the gate, and explosive rounds every time they caught up. Combined with auto aim and PIB. This is instant, 100% perfect shots. Which basically forced everyone protecting their product to use explosive ammo as defense. Tank builds are a completely different mess. I'll go out on a limb here and say R* is about to nerf that. (Even tho the main issue is the tonics). R* has had a huge problem with pvp, even since GTA O. At this point they are basically copying GTA O with their whole business/delivery. And doing the same thing when it comes to actual pvp balance. Sort of like how in GTA O grow weed and sell weed..and give you a mini van do sell the weed in. In a game filled with flying hover bikes that shoot off rockets and attack choppers you can spawn out of thin air. 1

Well, first off, I’ve never used explosive ammo (other than maybe the odd stick of dynamite) and I have never had problems in free roam PVP encounters... So I’m not sure it’s really a problem... as for your GTA comparison, sure, businesses are similar (I don’t really see how else they can both be run and provide opportunities for little PVP outlaw fun), but as of now, the PVP is more balanced by miles than what can be found in GTA... a fairly low level player can actually be competitive against a several hundred level player... That may change one day, it as of now it’s the case.... 3

Also the explosive rounds are a huge issue. A low level player has no chance against me, unless they use explosive rounds. If someone is doing deliveries, I know full well what im capable of. I've also been in tons of free roam battles that all degenerate into explosive rounds and dynamite arrows. Guess you should consider yourself lucky if you don't encounter many hostiles in free roam. The pvp in GTA is much more balanced, until you factor in armed vehicles, then its bonkers. RD, has a ability card/tonic issue that unbalances the pvp,. While the explosive rounds/auto aim turns into wild west sh*t show. Every big update also seems to come with game play mechanic changes. So, things might be nerfed. Simple quick fix = remove all tonics and card buffs for PvP modes. Then it's a fair fight. I like my chances in free roam battles do to much bigger playground to work with. I have to be really ticked off to use explosive rounds now a days. Carcano + express always does the job on grieves. Sure we die a few times but we WILL outlast most ! 😉 2

Sure we die a few times but we WILL outlast most ! 😉 I think even a tonic cool down would work wonders for both pvp modes and free roam pvp. But hosted lobbies with settings would have been the saving grace of pvp. Every pvp game mode is mostly high levels running around chugging tonics to bolster their ability card usage. Even free aim pvp game modes, is players chugging tonics to have constant PIB. Explosive bullets on the other hand. Not sure what to really do about that. I remember a while ago.. Doing a long delivery with a full posse. Getting instant dynamite arrowed. Our wagon is destroyed. Big explosive battle.. Eventually we grabbed the bags. But it was next to impossible for most of the time. Everyone keeps spawning in auto aim range. Even the small posse trying to jack us, turns into us having to kill them 20 times while we die 20 times and our horses keep getting exploded. The only reason why we got the bags is due to us out numbering them. That whole thing was not fun, just tedious and frustrating. Really, wish R* would do more live streams. That way trolls would give them a front row seat to how things can play out due to their lack of balance. Edited December 6, 2019 by HuDawg 1 1
Freakshow9191 Posted December 6, 2019 Posted December 6, 2019 I definitely would be fine with no ability cards, no explosive rounds. I don't feel they really add anything to the game. And a tonic cool down is a great idea! And. .since I'm forced to keep ability cards, at least give me the ability to name and save a loadout, and select it from the weapon wheel. I'm always shuffling cards around depending on the upcoming situation. 2 1

By balanced I meant everyone has access to the same stuff fairly easily. Not that a battle is easy to win. Sure, sh*t can go south from time to time. But the world is big, we all have the same cards, the same tonics, the same pig fat etc., we can’t just see everyone in the world at all times. And nothing is stuck behind a prohibitively expensive price tag... sure, some of the things are a little goofy and unrealistic, but as of yet it’s not even close to being as ridiculous as GTA’s offerings. But it doesn’t really matter as we’ve been told over and over again all about how your bent on hating the game until you get your private lobbies, and others are bent on hating the game until they can be 100% immune to ever having to get into a gunfight with another player... So there is simply no winning with whatever Rockstar adds or takes away in the current vision/direction of the game... 2 1

Really starting to miss the beta days now ! 😀 we all know it's going to swing back and forth before a happy balance is reached. Keep fighting the good fight gunslinger. All will come full circle soon. Give us back the simple cowboy game we all loved in the beginning. I want it to feel like the 1890s again. Explosive rounds used to be a safety net for being outnumbered , now it takes 3 hits with em to counter tank builds ! Sheeesh ! 😀

So there is simply no winning with whatever Rockstar adds or takes away in the current vision/direction of the game... I really don't care much about private lobbies as I do for actual game balance and free aim lobbies. The Original Red Dead online version was more balanced and had more options to suit taste. R* has taken a more regressive approach when it comes to current RD O. R* put so much effort into making the game play world as realistic and immersive as possible then throws all that out the window when it comes shooting/player mechanics. Im not hating the game.. Im hating the person whos not doing their job. Which is pretty simple to do. If the old RD O had such simple options and game play choice, then there's no excuse as to why this current version doesn't get the same logic applied to it. Edited December 6, 2019 by HuDawg 2
The_Liquor Posted December 6, 2019 Posted December 6, 2019 Quite honestly, I never could get into the old Online. The current version is much more immersive to me. And yes, I do agree it would be a little better without ability cards and explosive ammo (or at least make explosive ammo so difficult to make you can ever really only get a small handful at a time). But I won’t go as far as to say it’s unbalanced... Just a little too over the top. Personally I’d he happy with a pocket full of plain old lead bullets and the ability to kill or be killed by a well placed shot by anyone... But I’ll take it as it is when it means I can make my customized character and carve out my own little immersive fake outlaw life in the old west. 4

To passers-by, the Shack is an unassuming dwelling, the main floor acting as a front with all the details of an ordinary homestead. The basement, however, is where you'll ultimately get down to business. I Just don’t see how you can have an unassuming dwelling with a basement as part of your camp.
