Wow! I actually encouraged someone to do something?...

well that's a first.

Well this doesn't necessarily mean I'll actually learn how to play... Just means it's possible now lol

It's the thought that counts ????.

I will say that it sounds really good and I wish I knew how to play it. There's a guitar center right by work so I just ran over there on my lunch break.

I've actually never been to a guitar centre, i might search if there's one in Chicago.

I think there is, not sure though. If there is, I'll be driving down to Chicago tomorrow.

Arlington heights just off of 90

There's a few more around though. Not sure where you'd be coming from.

Yeah, just found on near Wrightwood ave.

I just did the math in my head, and it'll take me 3hrs to get from Glenview to Wightwood ave...

God damn...

There's another in highland park. You're like right in the middle of the 3 closest stores.

So true, in today's society. It doesn't matter how talented you are, if you're not "relevant" or if you don't have a "trendy" look. Nobody gives a sh*t about you and what you do.

It's kinda sad to think about...

Yeah. In the seventies, the guys of Pink Floyd could move around the crowd before the shows because nobody knew their faces, and their appearance was not important (Gilmour looked like a hobo). The talent of the performers was the important stuff.

The modern woman. She is clingy but bossy, focused more on work and her friends, and when it comes to sex, there has to be a terms and agreements 150-page document signed. I am obviously exaggerating here but I do think the "progressive lady" is a bit too much for me. I like a southern homely gal myself.

I think technology has reached a point to say a lot of it is overrated. Not all of it, but a lot of it. Like yeah, it makes life more convenient but so many people basically jump through hoops of fire to talk about how cool something is and then when you buy it yourself, you get bored with it in a week. lol

Talking on the phone...

If it's brief, text me. If it's important, we can meet up. Don't bother calling because I'm not going to answer it.

I’m going to throw in Christmas to the list. Yeah its great when you’re a kid and get loads of presents but once you’re past that stage its just 6 weeks of hype building up to one day and is over before you know it.

That's a good one. Far more enjoyable when I didn't have to buy everyone else sh*t too.

I always got screwed too. My birthday is a week before Christmas, so my extended family would just "combine" the gifts.

This is true until you have your own children who get excited about it. I adored Christmas as a kid, then it waned as I got into my teens and early twenties. But when my first child started to love Christmas, it came back to me full-force. The spirit of giving really overtakes the spirit of receiving when that happens.

I so agree with this!  With the exception of seeing my daughter's face light up on Christmas morning, I am over Christmas.   She's 16 now, and all she ever really wants is gift cards anyhow.  But was fun when she was a kid.  And this year, she's getting RDR2 for Xmas! (about 8 weeks early!)  I think the 7 weeks of Christmas music everywhere you go really ruins it for me.

I hate to make you think of this, but . . .

. . . it will come back when you have-- grandkids.

. . . sorry.

ROFL you're probably right! But by then, RDR4 or 5 will be out, and I will have a whole bunch of family members to roll with!

As of late, the internet. No offense to this place. It is actually great here. So many places online are getting ruined for me. Like people starting stupid fights, toxic people hounding forums and gaming communities, yuck.

You know what's overrated?  Harry Potter.

That hit right when I started college, and you has grown women toting those books around like they were keeping them warm and content.

I never had the interest in the stories or the movies to know but I will take your word for it. I remember the Twilight crap being the same only with younger girls which is kind of weird when you think about it.

Gotta love double standards!

Actually... Double standards are overrated. That still on topic? And this is beyond disturbing. A show I used to watch (can't remember the name) did an angle where this 41-year-old was like fantasizing about her 17-year-old friend's son. I bet that happens in shows all the time so long as the older person is the woman.

The difference is, as a young lad to have a hot momma fantasising about you is mega.

Still a bit creepy to me man. I am not into older women though, not like that. Even when I was younger. Had this like late 30 something teacher the dudes used to drool over. Yeah she was attractive but I was into it all like that.

You must admit that whether people like it or not, having a much older woman fancying a younger guy is a LOT less creepy than the other way around. Old men are creepy AF. (For the record, I'm not 40 but that doesn't class as old btw).

Well yeah, cause a dude is more inclined to be a "predator". I think for women it is more of an ego boost. Still though... It is creepy on both ends of the stick to me. There is a fine pedo line on this subject and it goes both ways no matter how horny a young boy may be lol
