  1. Been thinking about RDR's map in the new game. I'm thinking Blackwater is to RDR2 what St. Louis/Westport were to early 19th century America. The gateway, the last bastion of civilization. I'm guessing that everything west (and south) of it will be lands mainly controlled by Native American tribes. Ghost towns won't be ghost towns but small islands in a hostile (no pun intended) sea. Think forts will be busy thriving places and I'd be surprised if any railroads there are anything more than a construction project. I saw the German map that hinted at something being in Nuevo Pariso....after all it is an older civilization south of the river. Plus the cut screens of the Gila monster and background landscape can't really have any other location as I doubt they're going to put a high desert in the middle of the grizzly mountains or the open prairie. But what do I know I'm just a 50 year old man with the excitement of an 8 year old boy on Christmas morning.

  3. Hey there, folks. I know we’re all quite jazzed about the game releasing soon, and it’s going to be awesome! Once it does, we’re expecting this forum to get rather busy with lots and lots of talk about the game, its ins-and-outs, and the best/worst things about it. HOWEVER, it should also be considered that many of our forum members will be either unwilling or downright unable to buy the game at its release price. So, they may choose to spend the meantime watching online play videos and reading up on strategies and multiplayer stories here on the forums until they can get their hands on a copy. All this being said – you ARE free to TALK about ANYTHING YOU WANT about the game on this forum. HOWEVER, you CANNOT post any SPOILER VIDEO FOOTAGE. AT ALL. Also: If you're going to MENTION (in text) STORY MODE OR OTHER SPOILERS, our only request is that you use a handy-dandy tool we have here called the SPOILER tool. Here’s a helpful GIF to show you how it works: That’s how you do it. Basically, anything you write about that spoils anything of RDR2, please use this filter. This way, ANYONE can read your posts and still not get the intricacies spoiled. But what exactly IS a “spoiler,” you ask? Spoilers are reveals in the storyline or other important information about the game with dramatic effect. For example: “In story mode, you start with a pistol and six bullets.” – That’s not really a spoiler. That’s more of a gameplay dynamic. No hearts should be broken by learning THIS info on the forums. “Wow! It makes so much sense that Dutch was secretly in love with Abigail before Marston won her heart!” – THAT, friends, is a spoiler. (and a made-up example. I have no clue what happens in this game.) Remember, this applies to posts AND comments! If you click-open a spoiler and want to reply with the same (or another) spoiler, you’ll need to also use the Spoiler tool. So, you have the discernment, you have the tools, and you have the talent. With this neato tool, we give you the freedom to write anything you like without taking anything away from others. As of this posting, this rule is in effect. As the game ages, we may choose to rescind it at a later date – ‘cause, by a certain time, if you STILL haven’t played the game, that’s on you, chief. Sorry ‘bout it. IN THE MEANTIME, we have to impose some regulations: IF YOU encounter a spoiler irresponsibly posted by another forum member, please use the “Report Post” button IMMEDIATELY, and we will address it. We DO understand there may be a slip-up on this policy. If you realize you accidentally posted a story mode spoiler, please Edit the post and use the Spoiler tool. Now, we gotta get into the heavy stuff: If it is found by a moderator that you posted a spoiler without using the tool, or an uncovered spoiler you posted is reported to us, your post WILL be edited or deleted, and the following will occur: First offense: public shaming in the thread by a moderator or admin - NO warning points issued Second offense: public shaming in the thread by a moderator or admin AND warning points issued, as well as a possible temp-ban from the forums Third offense: further warning points will be issued, along with a temp or possible permaban from the forums So, let’s all enjoy playing this game, talking about this game, and the forums. Just use the Spoiler tool, and all will be right with the world. Adios, - Skunk

  4. And here I thought I was an old gamer at the ripe young age of 40. Likewise the last game I was this excited about was GTAV and that was 5 years ago. I've gone media quiet after I watched the first teaser trailer for RDR2. I love the surpirses you get from playing a game you don't really know anything about. 1 Day, 18 hours to go.

  8. Hey No offense intended, it's just nice to play a game with people that can remember back to the 1890s who can tell us if the game was true to life. hehehehehe

  12. Since about Father's Day, my wife and son pre-ordered RDR2 for me. Since, my son who is terrible at keeping secrets has been trying to find ways to let me know. As a good father I keep pretending to be blind to the evidence or hints he keeps dropping. Well, this weekend end he got me. While the pre-order was downloading, he had opened up the que on his xbox. Minutes later he comes in and tells me his xbox was working, said he put a game in and there was some smoke and everything died. Now being a guy who has worked in electronics all my life, this isn't totally unheard of, so I run in to handle the situation, totally bull in a china shop. Get in there and sure enough RDR2 plastered across his TV screen. He then politely ask me if I see what is loading on the screen. I turn pretending to be angry, asking him why he's getting RDR2 and I didn't. Seeing him grinning from ear to ear. I couldn't hold it and started smiling myself. He then told me "Happy Father's Day and explained that I would have gotten it sooner, but Rockstar messed up big time and didn't deliver in time. " For a kid who has been trying for months to clue me in to the surprise, he finally got me.

  14. So RockStar have announced an official RDR2 Companion App. Will show the map and you can access other things too. This lets you remove the HUD from the game and have all that info on the App. https://www.rockstargames.com/newswire/article/60648/The-Red-Dead-Redemption-2-Official-Companion-App?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=rdr2-app-10232018&utm_content=newswire

  15. What's been cool for me is being there and playing those games during the dawn of mainstream consoles and PCs. .....seeing just how far games have come since the 70's, 80s and beyond. I spent a lot of time in arcades during my youth before and during that time as well.

  16. So so true ... In fact, over here in the UK, retirement homes have started to install game consoles for the residents, it has been proven that gaming (with a controller especially), is improving mental agility, eye hand coordination etc in the older generation ... Which reminds me .. need to check out the local homes, see who has the best connection speeds .. happy to supply my own console too, as long as the other old farts keep their hands off it... lmao

  17. One of my favorite comrades in RDR was a old Vietnam Vet. He was a hoot to run with. "We don't stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing." - George Bernard Shaw

  18. @Bullet Slinger I'm your age and I know exactly what you mean by Christmas morning during those years. Now I live vicariously through my own kid. Yeah, I'm really excited about the release probably more so due to the long dry spell between titles that I have caught my interest.

  24. Totally. I really don't want to see any kind of advanced technology - alien or otherwise - in an 1899 game. However, hunting a gothic band of vampires at night with holy and wooden weapons - THAT would be an AWESOME follow-up to "Undead Nightmare". Hell, it could be called "Unholy Nightmare"! . . . wish I were getting paid for this. 😒

  25. Rather to continually asking or being asked what your gaming system of choice is, as well as your Gamertag, you can now add those to your profile to see and be seen by other members. This is optional of course. Head to your profile page (click on your avatar in the top right of the screen) Click "Edit Profile" which is in the top right of your cover photo frame. Head down to the section "Gaming Information" and fill in the info you wish.

  26. Stone Cold is a pure badass, there's no denying that. Plus his style makes the most sense seeing as though he's Texan, and the game's set in Texas. I think? Awwww... *Insert sad violin music*. That's the other style i was going to go with as well. It's either that^ or a Viking style beard.

  29. You can now add your platform and gamertag to your profile, which will show under your name when you post (see mine). If you want to have this information public, click on your profile at the top right, click edit profile, then add it in. Easy.

  35. Are you kidding, I used to be a tee-totaler before I dated Mrs. Creed. Her whole family are liberal with their alcohol consumption (albeit different mediums)--true story, her dad was okay with us dating because I only drank good scotch, neat (his other son in law would put Crown Royal in Coke--the heathen!). My mother-in-law likes when I come up with fun little cocktails for her, like the Simple Jack (muddled blackberries, ice, 2 (but really 4)oz of salted carmel vodka and 4oz apple cider in a double old fashioned glass), so as long as I make decent little drinks, I'm the #1 son in law. Mrs. Creed was slowing down until Whiteclaw came out, now she's in DGAF mode (which is why I love her)

  36. You need Bropollo's Spousal Roofie Special: basically give (in my case) Mrs. Creed an Irish Mule with double the Jameson Caskmates (Stout variety) and put on Grey's Anatomy on Hulu. Wait fifteen minutes, and once she's asleep, head to the media room and fire up the DLP projector with my headphones on. 50% of the time, it works every time.

  43. Kean_1 (PSN) I prefer to game with more mature (older) players like myself so if you feel the same, I set up a Community on PSN called "Red Dead Redemption 2 - Mature" if you're interested. .....or send me an invite (just include a msg letting me know your from the RDR2 forum). No offense to any younger folks on here. It's just that I'd rather game with people more in my own age group.
