Spent all weekend hunting for this thing... Took FOREVER! Spent like 6 hours hunting that mother****ing panther, but I finally got that son of a bitch! I spent more time hunting for this satchel than playing the story missions. I'm still in chapter 2, but I think this satchel will prove to be worth having as I progress. TIPS: More specific tip: 5 points

Wouldn't it be hilarious if Rockstar made attaining gold on certain missions physically impossible just to mess with you? It's a very Rockstar thing to do. You're hundred hours of game play is doing things for the sole purpose of getting them done. This isn't the right game for you.3 points

Came up with this idea after trying to Rob a Saint Denis factory worker.. About 10 of them started chasing me. I make the most nonsensical edits. For real. Enjoy. Like and subscribe if you enjoy.3 points

Lmao! I'm literally playing without the DAY ONE patch and everything people are saying seems to be because of their own self...3 points

I'd advocate that paying less than $1/hr to play ANY game is a great ROI, but that's just my perspective. It's also curious as to why anyone would trade in or sell this game before the online portion is released. Maybe the mechanics don't work for some, or maybe it's something else, but even if I HATED the story (which I don't), I'd at least wait until I'd played more than half the game to make a decision.3 points

My suggestion wouldn't have been to go through the game slow, having fun, then re doing missions via the replay option to get the golds. You could always buy the guide to know the criteria beforehand if it means so much to you. But you've sold it now, so bye, and good luck! Find something fun to do.2 points

This works so well it isn't even funny. For all the talk of how immersive the game is, when I'm riding solo into a den of O'Driscolls, I NEVER actually ride all the way in. I get that little indicator on my mini map of enemy combatants, tie my horse off in the distance, and approach slowly by leapfrogging from cover to cover with a rolling block rifle, repeater, and dynamite, ready to party. For smaller engagements, like at campfires, I open with dynamite and finish up with a shotgun. When raiding a den though? A lot of sniping and a LOT of chew to replenish my Dead Eye. If you're patient, you can wipe out fifteen to twenty of them without breaking a sweat. They can try to flank , but it never seems to be an issue if I'm using a repeater (or two). I love the tactical thrill of a good old fashioned assault with cover to cover movement, pop shot mechanics, and strategic reloads. If I want to charge them like a maniac and do flying leaps with a rocket launcher, I'll go play Halo. But these magnificent fools did an amazing job with the combat. Edit: there's also times when the game feels like this, despite everything I just said:2 points

I think everything can be summed up in your previous thread. The responses won't be any different in this new thread. Simply sounds like you need to move on especially now that you sold the game. As for the hyperbole about the game's success not being real, there were people like you who said the same thing about GTAV and that title just passed the 100 million unit mark several years later. .....RDR2 hit 17 mil in less than two weeks. Hype only carries a game so far my friend. I suspect if you come back in a couple months you'll see a similar trend with RDR2. Hell, I'll wager Christmas will bring in a quite a few sales alone. Let's get something straight though..... My issue isn't with you or your perception, dislike, etc. of the game. It's the irrational remarks that just because you hate the game, that somehow everyone else will feel the same. I felt strongly about FC5 and I voiced my opinion on Ubi's official forums (big difference there) in hopes that some things would change but not once did I think that my opinion was true for everyone else. They still made a tidy sum off that game. .....c 'est la vie. I moved on.2 points

I missed your edit. That does sound really frustrating... I guess I just don't care enough about the gold medals. I'll might go for it the second time around, but for a first play through I just want to take it slow and enjoy it. No sense in burning yourself out like that when the game has so much more to offer besides the story. I've spent more time exploring than playing story missions.2 points

Dude, thank you for this information! I had absolutely no idea I was supposed to get TWO CODES! I literally just opened the game, grabbed the code and put it in. I figured it was just one code that did all the bonus materials, tbh. I didn't look at it in it's entirety. I hope you get somewhere with this. I will now let R* I only received one code. Hopefully I can get somewhere with them. Best of luck, I'll update here as well.2 points

If we're not careful this will turn into a political debate rather than an RDR2 thread. But, since i can't resist nailing my own colours to the mast, however briefly, I'll just say that I mostly disagree with PZA because I tend towards favouring something like an internet bill of rights because I feel that tech monopolies (like YTube and Twitter etc) are de facto public squares/utilities more than private companies at this point - and when you factor in de-personing by internet hosts, search engines, and tech payment options (Google, Paypal etc), as well as politically motivated physical/financial de-platforming/censorship by mob veto, then you have entered the realm of unacceptable large-scale censorship and the erosion of free speech. Obviously, as a free-speech fundamentalist liberal/libertarian I'm very biased!2 points

I literally dreamt about playing last night. This is just odd. basically neither system can play this game exactly the way it was advertised in videos etc. the xbonex has frame drop issues and bad controller lag and the pro is out of focus and causes proples eyes to hurt and headaches. soo basically this was meant to run on hardware that is AT LEAST a year away. i honestly don’t remember anything in all of video game history that is on this level... meaning, getting hype up soo high on an unfinished product presenting it and releasing it to record sales numbers... then the software company totally ignore the customers. And give us generic “fixes”. Going on 3 weeks without even an acknowledgement... sad.2 points

I spent HOURS hunting a Panther this weekend. I was finally starting to think I had to progress in the story to unlock it when it jumped me from behind. Came back and spent several more hours trying to spot it. I gave in, dropped some bait, and hid behind a rock. Spotted him within 2 minutes... The animals behave very realistically for the most part, so you have to treat them like you would IRL. You can just run into the woods and gun down everything you see. You have to be patient. Be selective on using the bait (no need for it when hunting deer) and stay quiet/walk slow.2 points

Please, please , please use the following guidelines when posting details about side events and missions. There are a lot of people here that would rather discover these things themselves as surprises. Using the format in the link below will ensure those who don't want to spoilers will not mistakenly run across them. As for the particular event:2 points

I like blowing the limbs off people then dumping them in stores, I did it to the feral man too and dumped his naked stump for all to see. Throwing dynamite into flocks of ducks is always entertaining too.1 point

Wow, good to see this thread being my most active one so far! I still have my Tennessee walker in my stable, too. It was my first horse so it means a lot to me ^^ also not sure if you guys know about this, but there’s a spot slightly above Saint Denis that spawns two of ANY horse you could find, including horses you can only find in the end game. Here is a video to show you: i know it’s MrBoss and he’s huge cancer, but this video is what helped me get my super rare horse early on. Took my second try to get it so I’m sharing the wealth.1 point

OP you know this is a fan forum, not the official forum ran by Rockstar right? If you don't like the game, that is your own prerogative but that doesn't mean they need to "learn" how to make games better. There is such a small number of people who are rating the game badly... Why would they change for the minority when the majority loves it? That's just bad business.1 point

"Unfinished" seems to be quite a rush term. My main beef is with the lack of information - I've personally been waiting for this game for ages (like a kid indeed) and I would have bought the One X initially if the differences between versions were outlined better. Again if it is a temporary issue, I'd love to have had better responses from support on account on what's being looked into and what's not, ETA for possible updates etc.1 point

I completed the story (powered through it and only missed giving somebody at camp a harmonica) and the only thing that you lose . Everything else I still have upon completing (except my bolt action rifle which got replaced with a worn version that I just can't get rid of cuz of some bug). I must've gotten the materials for that satchel without realizing it, cuz I had it availalble after I finished the story. OR a bug happened where it was available to me without the need for the mats. Definitely worth the time to get it though. Massive increase in capacity.1 point

I just hope it can't be lost at any point in the story... I would be REALLY mad if I had to go through all that again...1 point

The "report post" feature flags content as reported by users. Nobody flagged this, but I try to keep an eye on things. When things get flagged, Moderators receive email reports, so we can fix the problem much quicker if reported. I've edited both the title and OP of this thread, and will continue to do so as things like this pop up, but the response will be much quicker if things are reported going forward. That goes for "soliciting" posts, too. If someone creates a thread or post to bump viewership of their private Twitch or Youtube channel, a Discord server, or other service, please flag and report IMMEDIATELY.1 point

Spoiler: I'm British! But I'm very jealous of the American Constitution, esp 1st and 2nd amendments. Again, I'm pretty liberal. for my own country I'm an anomaly.1 point
-
That's not bias, that's being an American. The First Amendment is kind of a big deal, that's why it's the "first" one, and not seventh or eighth. Unfortunately, because ISP's are not regulated like utilities, and because companies/corporations are considered "legal individuals", they retain fundamental rights as well. Among those is the right to restrict speech on a platform due to First Amendment privileges (which is convoluted, I know, but these are the times we live in).1 point

Had to start a new game twice now just trying to learn the controls and everything seems to be a very over-complicated mess. The original Red Dead games were fun and this? It just seems like too much. I just cant get the hang of it. Feel very disappointed about it, regret even buying the damned game. There doesn't seems to be as much open exploration, and the amount a crap items and the economy and trying to juggle all this garbage seems over tedious. Anyone else feel this way?1 point

Once it's gone from the Lake Isabella area you won't find it again until you completely leave the area and sleep a few times or do a mission or two. I'd try going far enough south where the snow is gone. When you come back she'll be there waiting. The trick to getting close is making sure she's calm. Once you're able to "lock on" to her with L2/LT don't let go. You'll get the "calm" option along with a spook bar at the bottom of the screen. Your controller will also vibrate more intensely when she's about to take off. Three tips; Press the calm button every single time you're able to. When she starts to freak (controller vibrating), stop moving until you're able to calm her. Make sure your hands are empty, don't even think about trying to use your lasso. Just keep inching closer and closer (no need to crouch) and before you know it, you'll be able to hop on and break that bitch. Don't be upset if she jumps in the lake, just have to try again.1 point

The last REAL Call of Duty game that was SO fun was Black Ops 2.... the series pretty much ended there. All of the Call of Dutys before that was amazing as well. I just dont like the games anymore, its either 1. I played them for so long and matured out of it. or 2. The lack of innovation.1 point

You need to reach Javier near Blackwater to advance the story, but the game does a horrible job of guiding you to him safely. Open your map and you'll see a longer strip of land that is not red to the East of Javier. place your waypoint on the end of this strip and you can then cross the shallow water to Javier into the wanted territory.1 point

HI Guys, I am new to the forum and just signed up and I did this to contribute to this topic. I must say that I to am very surprised and shocked how this all went down with RDR2. The game was very hyped and now it all seems that the game isn't as good (technically) as many believe it is. It might be good on some areas, but to promote a game like that with HDR and 4K, thus later on appears to be fake HDR, is a grave mistake. Most of the reviews I saw or read, never mentioned this at all. You see, most people won't notice it because A) they can't see the difference or B) don't care that much. Also on this forum there seem to be a couple of posters that like to troll with these things or even claiming they work at Rockstar (this still needs to be proven). It is a real issue and should be address by RockStar ASAP, not only for them self, but more so for all those buyers that feel let down. So please stop posting TV settings that although it could change the look a bit, will never fix the real issue. It is like taking pain medication for something that needs to be addressed with surgery! A work a round for the time being! I have the game (Ultimate Edition for PS4) and yes I pre-ordered it, but if they won't fix these issues then I will resell it. I don't own a PS4 nor Xbox, but I would like too, yet the way this went down with RDR2 is so very unprofessional. I am disappointed in them and there product and it appears that either A) they don't care and won't fix it (soon) or B) they are working on some big patch that will fix most. Personally, I think there priority is the online part of the game, not the graphics or look of it. As many mentioned, other games have implemented there upscalling and HDR implementation correctly. Spiderman for instance! So this is not a PS4 issue, but a game issue! They focused on the wrong things with this game in my opinion and because they sold and will continue to sell so many copies of the game, I fear they don't care that much about technical issues a portion (the smarter amount) of people are experiencing. Also the fact that some support people at Rockstar act like they don't know what we (consumers) are talking about, is an strong sign they A) don't care or B) try to cover it up. I read somewhere they didn't want to use actors that are very famous because of ego troubles. But yet I know Rockstar is known as being a very arrogant company that thinks the world of them self and do things they want, not how we want them. RDR2 is the latest example of how things go with Rockstar and I can only say that I hope for all of use they will officially acknowledge these HDR/blurr/upschale/antiallising issues ASAP!1 point

I know man... They've had me do so many things now, it's too much to list. I've invested so much time now I can't turn back I have to see this through LOL at this point, like I said previously, the horse I have now is upgraded to the point where it's probably better than the war horse. I think now I want to carry it through with tech support so I can help other people. A lot of good people on this forum and hopefully I can help some people get their stuff. Time will tell I guess... I will keep this forum updated when I get a reply from Rockstar Support. Cheers!1 point

They can be entertaining to use after you've finished the game, but yeah, definitely not something I would personally use before then!1 point

After 24 messages back and forth for over a week now, I finally got another reply this morning from Rockstar Games support. Wait, what?..... Mean it took 24 messages back and forth for someone to realize that this was put into the wrong Department? Time will tell I suppose. For now my horse has been upgraded and is super fast and I'm liking it a lot better. Still want my War Horse though LOL1 point

I swear every time I come back, more of you are becoming "the man"... Either there is punch being passed around or I don't come on here often enough. Congrats though dude. As for the OP... Call of Duty and I honestly despise the game but I LOATH feefaa. Why not make a poll for the thread?1 point

To build the poison arrows you need one special herb , orleander (sp) and an improved arrow. Limit is 8, for now. That's why I stocked up on the herb. The meat becomes poisonous, so discard it.1 point
