  1. Uggh. i can’t believe we’re a month in and there is NO update... even games that run flawlessly at launch get an update or patch within the first week or 2... usually unnoticeable stuff. i can’t believe there is just........ NOTHING.

  3. Thanks for the warning! I will be more careful in future. Back to the issue, If anyone is saying it is the "art style" that results in a blurry mess on PS4 Pro, maybe they can then also explain why PS4 Pro has a different "art style" to XBOX ONE X. Because on XBOX ONE X the game looks incredible. When someone notice a graphical problem and complain about it, all the fanboys want to treat them like an idiot because they can't face the fact that the game is not presented optimally. Acknowledging this would burst their bubble. We all play lots of games, often using the same hardware. So if I notice that 6 other games look amazing on my PS4 Pro and Sony 4K TV using the exact same system settings, then I load up RDR2 for the first time and immediately something does not look right. Of course, something is not right! There is a massive difference between art direction and graphical fidelity. And on the PS4 Pro, there is a very clear problem with graphical fidelity. R* created AMAZING art for RDR2. The lighting, the graphics, the physics, everything is exceptionally good. But....BUT! The rendering on PS4 Pro is BAD! It affects the graphical fidelity in a very negative way. Why is it so hard for people to understand this complaint? Even R* tech support act like idiots about this issue. Technically speaking, they are using a 1080p resolution and "enhancing" it to 4K. It is a TERRIBLE implementation of checkerboard rendering - the absolute WORST I have ever seen on PS4. At this stage of the current generation, RDR2 should really be the best looking game on ALL platforms, including the PS4 Pro. But it is the absolute WORST looking game on PS4 Pro so far. And again, we are NOT talking about technical things like lighting, art, physics, not even the texture quality and detail themselves. We are talking about how it is PRESENTED on PS4 Pro. It is presented poorly. Very very poorly,

  7. When GTA O 1st started off it was pretty awesome... It was no where near perfect, R* did make some really dumb choices in GTA O when it 1st started. Insurance ( so players used high insured vehicles to attack other players) ... Always on player blips (players alway knew where others where). Which made it easy to troll players Catch up in races. (Which slowed down the person in front for some reason) To much weapon, ammo and explosive carries. (25 stickies...20 rpgs.. 1000's of bullets with a ton of guns) But, by the time the Xbone and PS4 version came around.. The game started to go down hill. Free Aim players had to deal with "free aim assisted aim' Which was a soft snap auto aim. Which defeated the purpose of a FREE AIM mode R* added new free roam business missions. But due to always on blips and a notifications, it made it easy to attack and troll players. And this could only be played in Public sessions. Allowed players to instantly fill up all their ammo by using a mini menu instead of having to go to a gun store. Which basically gave players the ability to always have ammo and explosives. Allowed players to own heavily armed and armored vehicles.. Some of which had insurance tied to it. Flying bikes and cars.. that had the best lock on rockets in the game and a high insurance for destroying them. I could go on and on. And now we wait for RDR Online.. And im just sitting here wondering just what the hell R* is going do with this. Because no real GOOD info has been given about this. I really hope we get the same aim modes as the last RDR had for multiplayer. Auto aim for players who enjoy auto aim. free aim for the players who enjoy manual. And keep them separate. And i also hope they have a friendly free roam just for co-op. Player blips, i also hope are limited and NOT just always on all the time. As far as ammo goes. If R* allows instant refills of ammo then RDR O will turn into dynamite and explosive rounds non stop. Guess we will all know in a week of two what R* has in store. Im just a bit anxious.

  8. My name is Andrew, I'm 58, from Vancouver, Canada. I'm a child of the video game age, my dad bought "Pong" when it came out. Wow, we've come a long way. Like it says in my profile page... in 2003, while playing GTA Vice City, I found myself pulling my car over to watch the sunrise and listen to a favorite song on the radio. At that minute, I knew Rockstar had changed gaming forever, and I liked it. Chubby Johnson was a "Western" sidekick, born in Terre Haute, Indiana, 1902, who played in some classics, like Bonanza, Death Valley Days, Drango, Death Valley Days and Calamity Jane, among many others.

  9. The shotgun from that list that is at #22 comes from a hermit that comes out of his house and shoots at you, not the devil hermit. I got it the other day. Upon further inspection of the article, number 22 and number 20 are talking about the same gun. 22 is a picture of the gun you get from the hermit shack, the name for #20 is the correct name and location but the picture is the default double barrel.

  10. i think it's just coincidence. But yeah it seems like they thin out when you need to hunt them. They seem to like to run with the deer, makes them sometimes hard to spot. I had 3 or 4 perfect hides and a couple perfect buck hides from them, till i died running into a mob of lawmen. Never eat dinner and ride your horse at the same time when you have a high bounty lol

  11. My lantern got removed from the quick bar, but it was in the horse equipment window, I'm betting you lost it when you died, some times you randomly unequip an item in your quickbar when you die. Try checking your horse where the melee weapons should be, my lost lantern was there ready to be re-equiped... and follow Kormath advice, that thing is insanely more useful than the lantern, at least for me

  12. exploiting what? i'm lost there on what i exploited. I did get my legendary back though had to restore my game from the 11th. Which was no big deal, i haven't progressed past the opening of chapter 3 yet in the story line, so i lost nothing there, now i just have to do the fun of the challenges again and hunt down 3 or 4 perfect hides. kinda funny, i felt like i had really done a lot in those 4 days, but then i restore back and hadn't really done much but 6 sharpshooter and 3 bandit challenges and spend money on paying off my bounties lol.

  13. you keep the last 4 hats in your horse satchel, maybe it's 5 hats. something like that. Anytime i've gone into the red area around Blackwater i always get those dozen lawmen and 3 dogs, they spawn right beside you and you have no chance to run away. I'm guessing the $10 fine i also received is for trespassing? only thing i can think of, there's nothing in the crimes list that makes sense for it.

  15. At the expense of sounding trite, the game is probably going to have multiple online modes, including an open world free roam version; if I had to guess, it'd probably be akin to the current single player mode, but with the ability to purchase and upgrade housing, gang hideouts, and populated with other players as opposed to NPC's only. Maybe they have cooperative and PvP versions separate. Maybe they're co-mingled. I do think the slower pace of the game overall (being locked into horseback, stagecoach, or train travel when not on foot) is going to severely limit the ability of players/groups to actively troll in the online component. Or maybe I'm wrong, and they'll add in Doc Brown's flying time traveling steam engine as DLC.

  16. Hair growth is somewhat tied to story progression. As you advance through chapters, you'll reach a point where the length of hair tops out at 7 or 8. At that point, only consuming hair growth tonic will increase hair length.

  17. I dunno about this one. If you're going to spend big money on these vehicles, then what's the point if you can't use and have fun with them? If there was the risk of losing and having to repurchase them again, there would be little sense in buying them in the first place. As for RDR2, it's a different ballgame IMO. ......for obvious reasons. There was information about this that was leaked / rumored which mentioned that the radar would be restricted to proximity vs. the entire map. If that's true, I hope the restriction is limited to what you can see on the minimap or even closer. Well, it already works that way in RDR2 now so I would imagine it will in RDO as well. This is already different in RDR2 so I don't see that changing in RDO. In GTAV, the mechanic was the same for the campaign and GTAVO. In RDR2 you're limited to two long guns and two handguns and ammo is capped. Yeah, not sure how this will play out in RDR2 but given the differences between the game and R*s drive to immerse the player in the RD gameworld, I suspect ammo purchases will be limited to stores / vendors and perhaps (still) dead bodies (looting). I've heard this argument before but you need to take these things in context.... GTA and RDR are two different games. GTAV/O was all about the outrageous, indulgences, humor, etc. RDR2 is a more "serious" game that's all about immersing the player in the 1899 universe. There will still be "vehicles" but more along the lines of wagons with mounted guns, etc. Things that are at least within the realm of the believable for that period. I just don't see them doing anything like flying trains, etc. in this game. They've been very tight lipped about it and I suspect we'll know more about a week before launch. I too hope for more of a focus on co-op and given some of the vague indications, I think there may be. They have already said that they will be using some mechanics / ideas from GTAVO and I think it would be naive to think that they wouldn't use some of what they've learned from that game and apply it in RDR2. .....but folks also need to realize that GTAVO is not dead. It will still exist alongside of RDR2. It wouldn't make sense to copy the exact same formula. RDR2 will be a different experience I'll wager.

  18. Thats my point raposo, this is the only game that has worse image quality with supersampling enabled that ive seen. Ive been running it in 1080p and it looks better. Still looks incredible none the less.

  19. I have found this to be the most efficient method, especially on small-game critters. The elevation from horseback makes it easier to pick them up as they move through the grass/underbrush when your Eagle Eye is on cooldown.

  20. Excuse me? Why are you even here, if u love the fact that 1080p looks better than a higher resolution than good for you, jog on. But i didnt buy a pro console to play in 1080p. The rest of your comment is contradicting.

  23. Red Dead Redemption 2 is amazing, but the game is blurry on PS4 Pro. I played on Xbox One X and the game is very clear. We hope Rockstar will fix with an update, it is unacceptable that the leading platform in the market have such poor quality. Playing in 1080p than in 4K *.

  24. Thanks for the heads up! I'll be sure not to read any of your posts. So what I'm hearing is that if we want to use the internet we need to accept people being juvenile, antisocial di*ks. So, by that standard, anyone who goes to the theatre to see a movie should just accept the ticket seller telling you the ending, after selling you the ticket, that's just the cost of going out. Society in general?, the greater world?... just accept people behaving badly into your life with a smile. Give up on standards of acceptability.

  26. If ol' Artie's being mauled, he'll whip out the knife automagically. I've been able to manually use the knife by equipping it and hitting O (B on Xbone). Wolves, though? Kick them fools. Get 'em off of you with a kick, then shoot 'em in the face with the trusty sawn-off.

  29. For fishing, you need to know what fish you're going after. They'll be either a lake or river fish, then they all usually prefer their own certain type of bait/lure. When selecting your bait, the tooltip tells you which fish it's best for. Of course, you could always fish using dynamite. Tried it once when I was looking over the challenges, was very satisfying to watch. Also looking for the little rings in the water helps. Usually groups of them means it's a good fishing spot. I think each one is a fish cuz I've seen em move towards my line and feel the nibble just as it reaches the bait/lure. The legendary fish can be quite a fight. Only reel in when they're not fighting you. When they are fighting, pull to the side so it doesn't reel out. When you do reel in, pull back and release the thumbstick to pull back and drop the pole, helps to reel in a bit faster.

  30. Study the animal, then press RB/R1 to see the details. It will tell you which weapons is best for the animal. Some have 2 weapons you can use to get perfect hides. Headshots are the best way, or when your dead eye is leveled up you can see their vitals. I just do head shots, to easy for me to miss a viral and ruin the perfect hide I been hunting.

  31. For me, when I try play on ps4 pro after xbox X - literally impossible, like go back in time (playing on PC in 1080p in 2008 and get pissed of 720p and bad antialiasing in ps3 exclusives) Cant imagine, one of the best game ever have so shitty launch, so bad Rockstar wait for PC version, 60 fps with Euphoria physic and disable TAA - can look more gorgeous

  33. Holding down on the D-Pad while in-game gives 4 options for the mini-map. Default mini-map, expanded (just a bigger version), no mini-map (just shows the health/stam/deadeye markers), and radar/compass only (don't remember if it's a radar or just compass). There's several other options in the game's settings that can make it more difficult, like turning off the wanted pop-up, removing the data that pops up when you loot something, etc.

  34. They should be in your inventory, go to the weapon wheel (RB/R1) and check the throwables (lower left, the lasso i think is default there) the hatchets should be there. Hunter knife will be in the lower right (LT/L1 or RT/R2 to cycle through the items) Hats will be in your horse inventory lower right, but you can only store 4 or 5 in there. The others may be in your wardrobe inventory at camp/hotel.

  35. Truth just spoke the truth. sad but true. at least we know we are annoying them. you should send back a message that says, thank you for responding. I just want to let you know that there are several thousands of us that are on the verge of mass posting these issues across all social media and YouTube if we don’t get an actual public announcement that you are actually working on a fix. There are several communities with hundreds of thousands of views and we are on the verge of making this go viral. (Send him links to here and every other forum or FB group you can!) please make an official announcement, or else I fear the backlash from Sony customers is going to be massive. (they probably won’t care, but worth a shot!)

  40. IKR, campaign (along with the side missions) WAS pretty long, but I agree, I would have liked it to be longer. There's still tons to do outside of the story missions, and I'd imagine one of the reasons they want to give people a chance to do finish the story first is that there will be missions Online that could spoil the story if you hadn't finished it. Like how GTA:O had missions from some of the story characters. Don't remember any of the specifics, but they probably made more sense happening after the story, with possible spoilers if you hadn't finished it yet. I'm hoping RD:O comes out just before Thanksgiving so that I can spend my time off with it. The suspense of not knowing exactly when is making me antsy.

  43. Guys I am happy to tell you the solution, but i am just as sad about the nature of the solution. I had this same issue but accidently had another problem that led me to solving the whole issue, my controller's *X*button was worn due to excessive use by the previous owner of what now is my Ps4. I couldn't play so many parts of the game because of that, so I had to go get me a new controller *for the record my ps4 is the classic fat*, so i bought what they call the new generation controller the V2 as they claim, and guess what?? the L2 problem ceased to exist, it just functions as if i am on a new console, sad huh....guess they optimized the game for ps4 pro and its controller, since then i didn't have any problem with the game. You can also change the controller settings go to third person controls change it from standard to alternative it will switch L2 to L1 and it worked for me with old controller, unfortunately my problem was a bit bigger than that. best wishes cowboys.
