  1. I get very frustrated at his game as well, but not for the same reasons and I don't have the apparent anger at the game either. Most of my frustrations are caused by lack of skill on my part and poor decision making on my part as well. 1. This is a free to play game. You paid for the single player game, not online mode. If you spent real money on a game in beta (don't know if you did, but just saying) then that's your issue. You knew what you were doing. That said, disconnects happen in every online game I have ever played, beta or not. Every.Single.One. I do not think it's right that Rockstar is already conducting these microtransactions I have never seen a company not replace most items lost due to a disconnect if the game is live and not in the beta phase anymore. This game is not live yet though. When it is live, I would expect that there will be a system for rectifying lost inventory items. Frankly right now in my opinion they shouldn't be wasting their time replacing items. They should be fixing the disconnects. I have also learnt to limit the time I carry items on my horse that may get lost. If I decide to go on a long journey away from a butcher, then I accept that I'm playing a game in beta and take my chances. 95% of the time I don't DC and I'm cashing in my $200.00 to $300.00 in fish and pelts though. I don't agree that the community is toxic at all. In fact, by far, most players I run into in free roam just whistle and ride on by, or wave, or just speed by. Those that fire at me or kill me are playing the game their way, within the game's rules as they stand now. There are various ways I can escape someone hunting me after they kill me, so unless someone is exploiting it's up o me to extricate myself from these situation. It's part of thegame and once I got the hang of it the fun actually increased since I get that bit of excitement from evading players. Yes there are tweaks to the rules Rockstar can make in the future, but from what I understand, they already made knee jerk changes to the conflict system and those quick fixes caused more problems than they fixed. Everyone has access to the same game mechanics and abilities. Things vary depending on level, but really not too much. Higher levels do have some explosive ammo , but I think there are counters to them when you run into them. I also hold back from posting anything anywhere too soon after getting killed in game ...

  2. Topic says it all. I haven't bothered signing on all last week since last week's "update" was pretty stagnant. Was hoping something that was drip-fed today may make up for it, but damn, nothing?? My interest is drifting further awaaaay...

  4. Like the title says, it can't be that difficult. If the game can remember what's in my satchel after a disconnect or match, then it can remember what is stored on my horse. You can see why people are so frustrated. Disconnects happen and are definitely annoying, but when the game erases an hour or more of a player's time by wiping their horse cargo, then anger is understandable. As an example, I had been hunting for a bit and had a perfect cougar carcass, perfect buck hide, perfect deer hide and a couple of perfect wolf hides. That took up game time to get those things. Not remembering my inventory is in a sense stealing my time. To be frank, this erasing people's time by wiping their horse inventory after disconnects and matches could seem intentional to some. Trying to drive people into matches maybe? If so, tsk tsk and stop it Riockstar. Yes I can stick close to butchers and I try to, but you've limited their locations and so I don't get to enjoy the areas of the game I like to hunt in. Or I can stick to stuff that won't disappear. Then I'm limited to fishing, bird plucking (which has been nerfed) and picking herbs. You shouldn't mess with people's time. That's the true most valuable commodity in these games. No inventory should be lost after a disconnect or after joining a match. Oh, and put me back in the same spot I was when I joined a free roam event or quick join a match. Not on the complete opposite side of the map in the middle of nowhere. That can't be difficult either.

  5. Pretty much rhetorical. I do intend on providing feedback on this and some other stuff on their site, but I needed to vent after a couple of expensive disconnects this morning. I had the day off and was planning on trying a long xp and money trip. The disconnects changed that plan and I was typing while thinking about what to do next. 😉

  6. i was torn between the Garand and carbine for years. I love the Garand as it's a (most commonly) .30-06 round, a bit longer and heavier than the carbine. And that ping sound when the clip is empty is just killer. Carbine is smaller, lighter, shoots a smaller shell, more like a .357, and can use up to a 30 round mag. the Carbine was my must have before i got my AR15. now that i have it i'm rethinking this. I don't need 2 fun guns, but then again i already have 2 big game rifles for anything i want to hunt up to a buffalo. So maybe i do need 2 fun guns (fun guns = shooting range guns to just go out and have fun blasting things with) so maybe I will stick with the Carbine first. damn, now i have to make a choice again lol

  9. Nice! Those super match rifles aren't cheap. My nephew bought a Scout before I did. .....the little punk. He promised to take me shooting with it though. Had the chance to buy a Garand many years ago for cheap. .....not hard to find back then. I should have just made the purchase but we all know how that goes.

  10. By being a selfish jackass and camping near the enemy's spawn location so you can easily pick them off as they spawn in. All those players care about is boosting their own personal kill count and not actively trying help their team complete game objectives.

  11. @James Hickok_1837, Hey James. I know your intentions were good but I removed the description for the hack in your post. I would rather we not have anything repasted here from such sites that might unintentionally promote their purchase/use. Personally, I would open a trouble ticket with R* and submit the link to them. If it does work, it seems users would be able to get away with quite a lot.

  12. After reading Your post i wanted to check if its there and i found it in 5 secs on google. You can buy those cheats from web sites. Dont know if its legit or just a money scam but R* should really look into this.

  14. That is strange. They have the nicknames you gave them but they aren't yours? Maybe the game just saves the horses and when you create a new save file they just get duplicated.

  15. I have 2 kids and I’d say this whole game is rated PG-13, at minimum. Just riding around the world gets you cussed out like a sailor... forget engaging with most of the characters in the world. The conversations also dance around prostitution and cutting off of various body parts, at times. There are some points in the open game play or story where I’m pretty sure a movie would be rated ‘R’ for violence. (Blowing someone’s head to pieces with a shotgun at close range, comes to mind... torture scenes in the story at least twice, for another). I won’t get more specific, but that’s my read. I let my 13 year old see most of it, mainly because he’s pretty responsible and doesn’t get out of control or agitated by more adult themes. But I don’t let my younger child see anything in this game... ever.

  17. I am on Xbox. While playing RDR online I saw a player and reported him simply for his gamertag. "HangsBlackPeople." I am a US Army veteran and served alongside--and befriended--soldiers who were not caucasian. So this really infuriated me. I hope he or she gets banned.

  18. I did wonder if black players got targeted more or differently and it's sad to learn that you do. My Jamaican mate said recently he's gonna have to get a PS4 so we can mosey around together (cos every time he comes round I'm on RDO and it blows him away) and I asked him if he reckons online is full of racism and he said, it will be. He said this because when started turning up at my new house a number of the neighbours instantly pegged him as a drug dealer and caused us both a bit of bother until they learned he was a regular, good bloke, just black with a Jamaican accent. They even tried to get me evicted cos I have black friends. This is in the UK. I'm male but play online with a female character, cos why not!, and I've noticed when I get griefed and I can hear their chat the language is usually misogynistic and quite violent against women. I think it would be extremely difficult to solve. The band The Specials (from my old home town Coventry, a rascist hell hole in the late 70s early 80s) tried to solve it by forming a multi-racial band, so posse up Some days you just wanna go solo though. And R* have assured us some anti-griefing methods are in the works that may help.

  19. Red Dead Online allows players to enjoy the game with others and complete a variety of activities together thanks to posses, which are pretty much the game's clans or gangs. Every posse needs a camp, obviously, and players have quite a bit of control over the size of the camp they want to create, where to place it and so on. As camps are extremely important in Red Dead Online, even just to avoid having to deal with other belligerent players in Free Roam mode, learning everything there is to know about them is extremely important to make the best out of the online multiplayer mode. Camps Basics Camps can only be set by posse leaders. Inside each camp, the leader and all members of the posse can access the wardrobe, cook food and craft items. All members of the posse can also hide from groups of enemies if the camp has the white flag risen. To access the camps' flag, you just need to get close to it and inspect it using the Left Trigger button on Xbox One and the L2 Button on PlayStation 4. If the white flag is risen, other players will not be able to damage any of the camp's occupant. If the white flag is lowered, however, the red one will be risen, indicating that those in the camp are ready for combat. Flags in camps can also be changed in color. Doing so will cost $50 or 2 Gold Bars, which is definitely expensive, considering how hard it is to earn money in the game. Camps Sizes When creating a camp, you will be able to choose its size between small and large. The small camp can host up to four players, and it will require $1 a day for its upkeep. The large camp can host up to seven players, and it will require $2 a day for its upkeep. The camp's size only influences the number of players that it can host: facilities are the same in both small and large camps. Moving Camps Camps cannot be placed freely, but only in one of 12 different locations: Scarlett Meadows, Bayou Nwa, Big Valley, Cholla Springs, Cumberland Forest, Gaptooh Ridge, Great Plains, Grizzlies, Heartlands, Hennigan's Stead, Rio Bravo, Roanoke Ridge, and Tall Trees. Camps can also be moved to any of the 12 locations at any time while in Free Roam mode by paying a small fee. It costs $2 to move a small camp and $4 to move a large one. Camp Customization Once you have your camp set up and running, you can customize it with a theme which can be purchased by talking with Cripps, who acts as your dedicated assistant in Red Dead Online. Of all the themes, only the Standard theme is free, as the others can be unlocked by ranking up or by purchasing them. The Military Surplus Theme is unlocked at Rank 24, while the Traveling Opulence Theme is unlocked at Rank 38. The Hobo Life Theme is only available for purchase for $150. If you have purchased the Ultimate Edition, you can also use the Survivor Theme. This theme is currently exclusive to the Ultimate Edition, so it's not possible to unlock it in any way at the time. Camp Upgrades Like in the single-player story mode, it's possible to upgrade camps and enjoy some additional perks like improved cores restoration at camp and while in Free Roam. All upgrades need to be unlocked first by ranking up, which makes them available for purchase. The currently available upgrades are: Rank 15: Lean-To Tent - Refills Cores to 25% when entering Free Roam. Your Cores refill 50% faster when resting at Camp. Rank 22: A-Frame Tent - Refills to 35% when entering Free Roam, 75% faster at Camp. Rank 36: Tall Lean-To Tent - Refills to 45% when entering Free Roam, 100% at Camp. Rank 49: Open-Air Lean-To Tent - Refills Cores to 55% when entering Free Roam, 125% at Camp. Rank 55: Covered Lean-To Tent - Refills Cores to 65% when entering Free Roam, 150% at Camp. Rank 64: Covered Tent - Refills to 75% in Free Roam, 175% at Camp The final camp upgrade is the Fast Travel upgrade, unlocked at rank 65. Fast travel allows players to travel between 16 different travel points, including your camp, for a fee. The post Red Dead Online Camps Guide appeared first on RDR2.org. Read the full story

  20. I have been exploring the extreme northeast section above the boarder. My cave entrance is already filled with empty liquor bottles.

  21. In my opinion, this is the best game ever made for me. Honestly, I feel rockstar could have made it even better but was probably too worried to go too far with the slow pace bacause of guys like the poster here. Honestly, I have always wanted a game where you actually pull physical items from a bag one at a time, or loot a house by grabbing things one at a time. I feel like this is the direction they truly wanted to go and yeah, they achieved that but probably not as much as they or i wanted. I am totally satisfied, dont get me wrong, they have to cater to a large group of people to get the money for a game like this but i think i would enjoy even longer skinning animations with the chance to speed up to the type we have now, instead of how some large animals kinda cut to different sections of the skinning process to keep it quicker. I would rather take 10 puffs off a cigarette than one and toss. I'd rather see our character actually take off his coat and store it when swapping outfits on your horse. Honestly I cant even complain at all, I enjoy every aspect and approach made by rockstar with this installment. I feel like they cut a few things to speed up the pace but the game still leans toward the slow, calculated, realistic side of things which is totally against the grain in a world where instant satisfaction and having things given to you for nothing reigns supreme.
