  1. I think if they do it continuously, targeting unsuspecting players, then yeah it’s griefing, but either way I think it’s cowardice.

  2. Getting real tired of thin skinned, salty players coming after me after I just finished going after them during a PA mission. On Saturday, I did two such missions. The first, I had to track down a player who was holed up with his posse in Saint Denis. I had a hard time getting to him and ultimately ran out of time. But, when it was over, his posse members continued to come after me and killed me once or twice. On the second mission, I forget where the final fight took place, but I had to kill both members of a 2 man posse. They were swimming around in a river in a spot that was really only accessible via the steep adjacent cliffs. I managed to traverse the cliffs on foot and found a point where I could pick them off from above. I succeeded in the mission and of course when it was over, one of them can after me and killed me. For Christ's sake, don't blame me for the game choosing you as a target, it's nothing personal. If I win, take your death like a man and move on. If you win, relish your victory, be happy you survived and that it's all over and move on.

  3. Well, in a 16 year army career and an owner of all sorts of firearms... I can’t think of one situation where I forgot I had a gun in my hand, or accidentally aimed at something I wasn’t even thinking about shooting because it happened to be in the corner of my eye while I was getting ready to aim at a deer or other target.... But your comment kind of made me laugh thinking of people doing such things in real life.

  4. Just a thought I had to counter attack griefers. Allow max honor players to become Marshals. So when a player presses charges against a griefer, any player Marshals in the server can help assist the player that presses charages. Example: Player presses charges against a griefer. Any player Marshals in the server can accept or decline to help the player. If the player Marshals accepts to assist the player that presses charges. The griefer's red dot will show up on the map. Doesn't matter if the player Marshals is in Tumbleweed and the griefer is in Saint Denis. With that said, R* must implement a passive mode between the Player that pressed charges & the player Marshals. Or I see griefers becoming Marshals just to shoot both the griefer & the player that pressed charges. So if there are 20 players in a server & 5-10 players are Marshals. All 5-10 players Marshals have the option to accept the players charges and assist in helping killing the griefer. As griefer hate getting killed. Even more if other players start to team up on the griefer. As of right now it is pointless to press charges against someone. cool R*, all that happens is the griefer's dot turns a darker red. lol Just a thought I had, allow good honest players help police the servers. R* can charge a price to become Marshal x number of gold bars or in-game currency and give us a nice little Marshal badge on our chest.

  5. ok ill start lite......1st- grieving is a problem but i have a fix.....first we can put a timer on how often a pc can be killed by another player..say 30 min. #2- when a player is killed there is no gain but that's not very realistic...i think a player that kills another player should be able to loot the corpse.....i know what your thinking...relax.....ok it should be a sliding scale example= ( if player is the same level then upto 5% from what the player carries on hi/her person can be looted, if the levels differ then depending on the difference as little as 1% can be looted). this takes us into my other points...i see many banks around the game, allow players to deposit their money into the bank... this money would be safe from the various robberies that take place in game and would not subject to said robbery, this way players can deposit money and not carry it on their person ( the money carried WOULD BE subject to looting if another player kills the carrying player.) so far we have covered player griefing, looting & banks with deposits.......also the random location when you login needs to be fixed...if i log out in camp thats where i want to be when i log back in!! the random relocation should be done away with......however keep the random relocation when killed so you don't end up back in the fight that killed you. im working on other ideas as well...ill keep posting when i have further advice. HERE'S TO KEEPING RED DEAD ONLINE, AND RUNNING SMOOTHLY!!!!!

  6. So I just sent a "suggestion" to Rockstar about the two best saddles in the game. The beaver roping saddle and the Panther trail saddle. Both have the best attributes, they swap the health and stamina drain rates otherwise have the same attributes and are the best in the Online game. the issue is, one costs cash, the other gold only. I hate that but ok, I saved and paid the 18 Gold bars to buy it. I own both. The issue I have with it is that you dont get any options for color. I would appreciate a few choices, so if I want to use it on my grey and white/black Trotter I can get one to match and if I have the dark brown Turk I can get one that matches it. The beaver roping saddle for example looks great on the Dark brown Turk, but the Panther trail saddle looks bad, it is too light of a brown and just doesnt compliment the horse at all. My other Trotter is light brown so all three of my main horses are very different in their looks, and I would buy more than one of these despite the high gold only cost, IF they had color options. As it is I use it for the stats only because I hate the color, I prefer the Beaver saddle as it looks great on my dark brown horse. But it is hard to ignore the stamina drain rate on the Panther saddle, so... I run it but it makes me switch horses to my light brown Trotter. The Trotter is a great horse, but again, I want to have a saddle for each horse that compliments its looks. If you agree with this please send Rockstar a note asking them for color options on the expensive "special" saddles, we have to earn those and then pay with gold only I want options. If enough people mention it, maybe they will add options. Remidn them it is gold only, so more options means more sales and more gold sold to players, so for Rockstar a win, and for the players who want it, a win, so why not? hit this link, log in to social club and let them know. https://www.rockstargames.com/reddeadonline/feedback?redirect_lang=en_us

  8. Only thing I've notice is you can access the watch in the menu where the binoculars are. All that does is give you an animations of you pulling out the watch and actually seeing the watch and time. Not sure if it's a glitch, but when I sold all my watches to the fence and didn't have one. I could no longer see the digital time when pressing down on the D-pad. From that point on I always kept one watch.

  9. This is something I reeeeally wanted in the singleplayer. . I did get a glitch where a dog I had just petted started to follow me as I rode across the map. He stayed with me from Annesburg to Valentine, then I had to stop to go to the store and he was gone when I came back out. But I got several screen captures of him as we rode.

  10. For me, it helped to find a few boxes to crouch behind so I'm not getting holed like a piece of swiss cheese while I worked out where all the bullets were coming from. Once I realized that I didn't need to rush into a fight and could hunker down and take my time, the big pitched scenes got a lot less frazzling. Also, I started gaming as an early 20-something, and I'm only now getting half-way decent at video games. They really aren't 'just for kids'. RDR2 is an '18+' game, and my next highly anticipated game Cyberpunk is supposed to be rated 'Mature'.

  11. nope, specially since there's no option to do anything with them. I never ate the canned foods anyway, i sold them all. I spent 90% of my play time hunting so i always had meat on hand, and when i hit a full stack of more than one type with the Legend Satchel, i'd donate it to the camp.

  12. Howdy ! Still looking for posse ? Have all adult posse recruiting gunslingers right now. If interested apply on Arthur's Angels thread. Have several posses running to accommodate different time zones. Give us a look.

  15. Nacogdoches it's called. Looks like someone barfed on your horse but has exemplarary stats I think. Also available at much lower rank than other top stat saddles. Don't know or care enough to see if it's the new top dog or not as I wouldn't want to embarrass my hoss by putting that eyesore on him even if it meant he could then fly.

  16. I've had quite a few incidents with players where they shoot me, then either run into a general store and access the wardrobe, or into a saloon and access a barber. Doing this completely removes them from the map. They seem to try to do it quickly so an unaware player thinks they left the server, then when they see their victim moving away, they exit the wardrobe or barber and try and kill their victim again. I know they often run into shops, but is this disappearing act a new thing? I lean toward calling this a form of griefing, but do these people think it's a fair tactic? I've also seen these players able to go defensive as soon as they exit the shop. Is this due to the length of time they wait in the shop/barber? Just as a PSA, always check the player list to verify they did in fact leave the server.

  17. If you're in Defensive Mode, use it to your advantage. They may have shot toward you but not at you. Once they hit you then you've got the advantage in fighting back if that's what you want. The mode works best when you're trying to avoid potential threats and for evasion. It's not a passive mode and really can't be treated as a "stand your ground" tactic if you're intentions are truly to avoid conflicts. .....and that's what it really boils down to. You can't just turn it on and expect that you won't be trolled. Personally, I still spawn into a session away from my intended destination and I'll move on when I see other players approaching, give them a wide berth, etc. when I'm in Defensive Mode. I don't know what the chances would be of sweeping another player while in free aim but I'd imagine it wouldn't be very likely. I know I've done it on accident several times while in auto aim though (snapping on to someone nearby instead of my intended target). Personally, I wouldn't be against a trigger in the logic to be based on that. I think that part of it makes sense.

  23. Yes I checked all the chicken coops I could think of or find I did eventually get the camps to work again but it was a matter of switching servers, hard starting the console, etc,.. BTW, I eventually found a rooster ion Rhodes just south of the pawn show at the slave village I think it is, they have a coop and I found one there, then I jumped sessions and got the other one.

  25. For about 1 minute more then I am out, I will put in the work and grind and all that but when the game goes from working perfectly to not working at all over night Im out. Between this camp thing and the fact that I can not find a single rooster I am ready to blow!! I have been to every spot you expect a rooster to be, Emerald ranch, Armadillo, Valentine, Mamma Watsons, etc.. wtf rooster?!?!? I go at night, back in the morning during the afternoon, doesnt matter when I go, no roosters!! These daily challenges where you have to fond stuff dont usually bother me, I know where everything is, But I have never really had to get a rooster before, I see chickens everywhere, but no roosters, I looked up several videos, they each show a different location, but for me, not one damn rooster!! add to that my camp wont spawn and Im getting aggravated.

  26. I think this game is directly pointed at us seniors. I certainly didn't trade in my controller to get my medicare card and I am pretty sure Rockstar understands we are still a viable market and they will do what they can to keep us around. Boomers are still 25% of the population and have the disposable income. I have been gaming since Pong and I am not going to suddenly change my lifestyle because of a calendar glitch. Besides toddlers, who has more recreational time to burn than us? Red Dead westerns hits us right in our youthful sweetspot. Movies, radio and television were dominated by westerns, war themes and gangsters. Our parents handed us plastic cap guns and chased us outside to create our own 1st person shooters with our friends. Who didnt want to be the Lone Ranger or Cisco Kid? I have some of the same problems as you, Pebbledash, My memory is fine but my recall is terrible. I keep a cheat sheet near for most controller moves. I am quite capable of forgetting how to mount my horse if I havent played in a week. I've punched him more than I care to admit and he always forgives me. I was a factory rat or a mechanic for 50 years and my hands are full of arthritis and bone spurs. I get by, but its good to see that manufactures are producing controllers for people with disabilities. The game is also quite good at letting you play at your own pace. I would avoid going to camp for days just so I could avoid missions. I spent a lot of time exploring the map and avoiding confrontations until I had pretty good grasp of how the game played. I would deadeye chipmunks and rabbits just for practice. This game also has some pretty reasonable enemies. No 50 foot tall acid spitting monsters that take an hour to kill. The game is interesting enough so that I never felt a need to rush thru it. As far as being to old to play games? I was 40 when I started and people would ask,"Arent you a bit to old to be playing a kids video game?" I always considered it as my hobby and just as reasonable as collecting stamps. Enjoy the rest of your game!

  27. I've never done one of these before but last night before my posse got on I was tasked with killing a guy as part of a stranger mission. He was holed up in that farm building with the donkey and ox near Emerald ranch. It was 1 v 1, though I didn't catch his level he certainly knew more about strategy than I did. I actually got him with about 10 seconds to spare. What a rush!

  28. I have never used defensive mode. I figure that would only let others know I wanted to either be left alone or am scared. It doesn't make them leave you alone so if they want to shoot you they are going to anyway. Why bother?

  29. to all those that said "I just like to play the game" cheers to you, this thread wasn't for you. I was just throwing this out there for those that want to level up quick and they are out there hence all the youtube videos on the subject. you're not going to get more than 25xp per kill doing anything else and executing them is such a stress relief and the animations are pretty cool. standing in a town shooting people over and over I would find boring myself plus you don't get as many xp.

  30. Yes. If you get the guy(s) chasing you it should end the game. It seems unfair that they only have to get you once but they get multiple tries.
